Objective To compare the results of clinical treatment of shoulder and neck pain in patients with and without upper cervical degeneration. Methods Fifty two patients with diagnosed shoulder and neck muscular fasciitis(with high tension and tenderness on the trapezius) were divided into 3 groups: group A,with upper cervical degeneration(16 cases);group B,with upper cervical degeneration(15 cases),and group C,without cervical degeneration(21 cases).There were no significant difference in gender,age and course of disease among the 3 groups.Patients in 3 groups were regularly treated by naprapathy and electric therapy(intermediate frequency).Cervical traction and manipulation was added to the patients in group A.Treatment for 3 groups lasted for 2 weeks.The Visual Analog Scale(VAS) scores and Odom criteria before and after treatment were used for determining the results of clinical treatment. Results The VAS scores after treatment were significantly improved in group A and group C as compared with that in group B(P=0.000).Odom criteria of group A(93.8%) and group C(95.2%) were excellent and good without significant difference(P=0.692),but they were significantly higher than that of group C(P=0.001). Conclusions Patients with shoulder and neck pain accompanied by upper cervical degeneration(narrowing of intervertebral foramen) should be treated with cervical traction and manipulation beside the routine therapy.

Objective To obtain the gene coding for the group 5 allergens from Dermatophagoides farinae ( Derf5 ) and predict its molecular characteristics. Methods The total RNA of D. farinae were extracted, and the gene Derf5 was amplified by RT-PCR with the primers designed according to previous sequence published in GenBank. The target gene was linked into pMD19-T Simple plasmid, sequenced and analyzed by bioinformatics software. Results The sequence homology reached to 97.8% between our sequenced result with one complete open reading fragment (ORF) and the reference. The gene encode an extracellular hydrophobic protein with 132 amino acid resides, one signal peptide from 1 to 19 position and one transmembrane domain from 1 to 19 position. The secondary structure was composed of extended strand (1. 52% ), random coil (7.58%) and alpha helix (90.91%). The encoded protein was deduced to have two Casein kinase Ⅱ phosphorylation sites. The similarity of the amino acid sequence of the group 5 allergens were 78% between D. farinae and D. pteronyssinus. Conclusion The gene Derf5 was cloned successfully, and its characteristics was primarily predicted.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of Rho-associated protein kinaseⅡ(Rock Ⅱ)in preeclamptic placenta and umbilical artery.Methods Semiquanfitative RT-PCR and Western blot were used to investigate the expression of RockⅡmRNA and RockⅡprotein in placenta and umbilical artery from 35 women with moderate preeclampsia(MPE group)、38 women with severepreeclampsia(SPE group)and 45 normal third trimester pregnant women(control group),the S/D value of umbilical artery was examined by ultrasound.Results (1)The expression of Rock Ⅱ mRNA of Dlacenta in MPE group(0.82±0.14)and SPE group(0.93±0.13)were signifieantly higher than that in control group (0.70 ±0.12,P＜0.01).The expression of Rock Ⅱ protein of placenta in MPE group(0.79±0.15)and SPE group(0.92±0.12)were significantly higher compared with control group(0.68±0.11,P<0.01).The expression of Rock Ⅱ mRNA and protein of placenta in SPE group were higher compared with MPE group(P＜0.01).(2)The expression of Rock Ⅱ mRNA of umbilical artery in MPE group(0.69±0.13)and SPE group(0.55±0.12)were significantly lower than that in control gmup(0.76±0.10,P＜0.01).The expression of RockⅡ protein of umbilical artery in MPE group(0.68±0.10)and SPE group(0.51±0.12)were lower compared with control group(0.75±0.13,P＜0.01).The expression of RockⅡ mRNA and protein of umbilical artery in SPE group were significantly lower compared with MPE group(P＜0.01).(3)There were no correlations between the expression of RockⅡ mRNA and protein in placenta and umbilical artery and the S/D value and birth weight(P＞0.05).Conclusion The upregulated expression of Hock Ⅱ in placentas and downregulated expression in umbilical artery may be a compensation in preeclampsia.

Objective To evaluate the effects of simulated family nursing on the cognitive function and activity of daily living in patients with Alzheimer's disease.Methods Sixty-eight patients with Alzheimer's disease were assigned to routine nursing condition and simulated family nursing condition.The patients were assessed with Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL) before intervention,and 3 months and 6 months after intervention.Results Compared with the control group,the patients' cognitive function (t=2.31,P=0.026) and activity of daily living (t=2.59,P=0.012) were improved significantly in the experimental group.Conclusion The simulated family nursing can improve the cognitive function and activity of daily living in patients with Alzheimer's disease.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of serum soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 ( sFlt-1 ) in preeclampsia placenta. Methods Immunohistochemistry and semi-quantitative RT-PCR were used to investigate the expression of sFlt-1 and sFlt-1 mRNA in placenta of 30 women with preeclampsia (including mild and moderate preeclampsia 11 cases, severe preeclampsia 19 cases) and 45 normal pregnant women (including first trimester pregnancy 18 cases, 2nd trimester pregnancy 12 cases, and 3rd trimester pregnancy 15 cases). The levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and sFlt-1 in serum were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Objective:To determine the incident tendency and constituent ratio of thyroid tumors, patient age, and histology, as well as present scientific data for the prevention and treatment of thyroid tumors in Nanchong. Methods:Data were collected in the Affili-ated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from 2001 to 2015. Microsoft Excel and SPSS 17.0 were used to analyze the data statis-tically. Results:A total of 3299 cases of thyroid tumors were observed for a span of 15 years. The cases of benign tumors were 2503, while those of malignant tumors were 796. Most cases of benign (33.0%) and malignant (27.3%) tumors occurred in the 40-49 age group. At 35 years old and below, the proportion of patients with thyroid malignant tumors was 23.5%. The number of male patients was 566, while that of female patients was 2733, resulting in a male-to-female ratio of 1:4.8. Conclusion:As the incidence of thyroid tumors increase every year, so does the constituent ratios of thyroid malignant tumors. The onset of tumors in men and women were significantly different. These findings should attract more clinicians' and preventive researchers' attention. Targeted detection, preven-tion, and control need to be carried out immediately.

Pharmacology can be defined as the study of sub-stances that interact with living systems through chemical proces-ses. Pharmacology plays an important role to bridge the transla-tional gap between the basic medicine and clinical medicine. In this article, the projects in pharmacology funded by NSFC during 2004~2013 were reviewed. The new features and new problems in the projects of pharmacology were briefly analyzed.

Proposals in the paper include building the price parameters fitting local conditions,and setting prices using the standardized price model;forming a comprehensive price adjustment scheme with reference to international price comparison relations and domestic pricing level; upgrading the fine pricing management level of medical service pricing and improving charging management dimensions;enhancing interactions and assessment of price-related departments to guide public hospitals to enhance.

Objective Using quantitative real-time PCR to establish a rapid specific genetic diagnostic technique for Yersinia pestis.Methods ①Four sets of specific probes and primers were designed,which targeted to chromosome genes of YPO0392,YPO1094,YPO2087 and YPO2090,respectively.②The probes and primers were tested for stability and specificity with 40 strains of Yersinia pestis and 47 strains of non-Yersinia pestis of different sources in Yunnan.③Eight positive DNA in Yulong,Yunnan,were tested with the screened probes and primers.Results ①Two sets probes and primers were selected,they were targeting YPO0392 and YPO1094,respectively.②The results were all positive of the eight positive DNA samples tested.Conclusion Two sets of primers and probes are selected for rapid specific diagnosis of Yersinia pestis.

Objective To summarize the subtle anatomical structures of the normal nasal bone in mul-ti-slice spiral CT (MSCT) image through the observation of the three-dimensional images. Methods One hundred and twenty volunteers who had no nasal trauma and disease history were collected. The nasal was scanned using MSCT. Raw data was reconstructed into bone window images (slice thickness 0.6 mm, slice interval 0.5 mm), and then the images were imported into Syngo Imaging XS software to recon-struct three-dimensional images and to summarize the nasal bone ’s subtle anatomical structures. Results The subtle anatomy of normal nasal bone generally included four seams, two holes and one edge. The four seams were left and right nasal-maxillary suture, nasal-frontal seam, and internasal suture. The two holes were left and right nasal aperture. The edge of the nasal was the lower edge of the nasal bone. In addition, there was suture bone in internasal suture in some normal nose. The nasal aperture mostly was hole-like, but some nasal apertures were line shape. The nasal edge can be divided into flat type, wave-shaped type, inverted spike type, hook-shaped type and others. Conclusion The anatomy diversity and individual differences in nasal bone are large. MSCT and three-dimensional image reconstruction techniques, combined with the history of trauma could distinguish between the normal anatomy and fractures.
