Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Prolift pelvic reconstructive surgery for advanced pelvic organ prolapse in elderly patients,and to investigate its impact on pelvic floor function and sexual function.Methods Totally 42 patients aged 60-79 years with advanced pelvic organ prolapse [Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) stage Ⅲ,n=30; POP-Q Ⅳ,n=12)were selected in this study.All patients underwent total Prolift procedure,and were followed up at month 1 and 6 after operation.Operation time,bleeding volume and postoperative complications were recorded.The impact of total Prolift procedure on pelvic floor function in patients were assessed by pelvic floor distress inventory short form 20 (PFDI-20),the pelvic floor incontinence questionnaire 7 (PFIQ-7) and the pelvic organ prolapsed and incontinence sexual quality questionnaire 31 (PISQ-31).Results The operative time was (35-78) minutes[mean time:(42±25) minutes].Bleeding volume was (50 300) ml [mean volume:(137±58) ml].No bladder injury,rectum injury and postoperative complications were observed.All patients were cured,and no one recurred.The scores of PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 were decreased in patients after sugery at 1 and 6-month follow-up as compared with beforesugery (4.5±1.4,0 vs.47.9±12.2; 7.8±4.3,0 vs.76.3±17.9,respectively,all P＜0.01).There were no significant differences in scores of PFIQ-7 between before and after sugery at 1-and 6-months follow-up (52.3±4.3 vs.49.8±6.3,51.1±6.5,P＞0.05).Conclusions Prolift pelvic reconstructive surgery is an safe and effective treatment for advanced pelvic organ prolapse,which can significantly improve quality of life in elderly patients.

Objective To investigate the incidence of dental fluorosis,urinary fluoride level and intelligence of children who lived in the coal-burning-borne endemic fluorosis areas and to reveal the effects of comprehensive control measures on intelligence of children in this area.Methods Children aged 8-12 who lived in coal-burning-borne endemic fluorosis areas in Bijie City of Guizhou Province were selected and divided into two groups according to the duration of comprehensive treatments given:long treatment group (Xiaba Village and Zhongtun Village,furnace stovewas changed and comprehensive control measure of health education was carried out for more than 3 years) and short treatment group(Chadi Village and Maoliping Village,stoves were improved and health education time ＜ 1 year).The children who lived in a non-fluorosis area were selected as controls in 2012.Dental fluorosis was diagnosed by the method of Dean; urinary fluoride was analyzed by the method of fluoride-ion selective electrode; and the intelligence quotient (IQ) was measured by Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices Test.Results The number of children surveyed in control group was 104,long treatment group was 298,short treatment group was 339,and the incidence rates of dental fluorosis were 0 (0/104),725％(216/298) and 85.2％ (289/339),respectively,and the incidence rates of dental fluorosis in children lived in the endemic fluorosis areas were significantly increased compared with that of control group; the difference of incidence rates between long treatment group and short treatment group was statistically significantly(x2 =15.736,P ＜ 0.01).Urinary fluoride content were (2.33 ± 0.18) and (3.03 ± 0.16)mg/L,respectively,compared with the control group[(1.34 ± 0.64) mg/L],the values in endemic fluorosis areas were significantly higher(F =306.53,P ＜ 0.01).Above average IQ of children in the control group was 97.1％ (101/104),which was significantly higher than that of long and short treatment groups; after a lengthy treatment,mental retardation detection rate was significantly lower in the low-age group,8-10 year-old ehildren(x2 =7.542,P ＜ 0.01).Urinary fluoride content was negatively correlated with the level of IQ (r =-0.553,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions The intelligence development of children in coal-burning-borne endemic fluorosis area is significantly delayed.After a certain period of comprehensive treatment,the decreased level of cognition is inhibited and the mental retardation in the low-age group is improved.

Objective To investigate the depressing effect of antigene peptide nucleic acid (AGPNA)on the k-ras gene expression of human pancreatic cancer Patu8988 cells, the inducing apoptosis effect on Patu8988 cells, and the biodistribution characteristics in nude mice bearing xenografts using 188Re-k-ras-AGPNA.Methods The expression level of k-ras mRNA and the expression ratio of k-ras protein in Patu8988 cells transfected with AGPNA was measured by RT-PCR and flow cytometry ,respectively. The degree of cellular apoptosis 3 to 5 d after treating Patu8988 cells with 188Re-k-ras-AGPNA or 188ReO4- was determined by flow cytometry. For biodistribution study, 58 nude mice bearing Patu8988 cell xenografts were divided into two groups: intratumoral injection of 188Re-k-ras-AGPNA (Group A) and 188ReO4- (Group B). At different time points, the mice were sacrificed and organs of interest were excised, weighted and counted by a gamma counter. The organ uptake was calculated as a % ID/g and the absorbed doses of organs were calculated. One-way analysis of variance was used. Results After transfected with 1 nmol/ml AGPNA, the k-ras mRNA gray scale ratio and the expression ratio of k-ras protein were 1.00 ± 0.39 and (15.05 ± 5.07)%, respectively. They were significantly lower than those of the control group with 1.86 ± 0.07 and (24. 38 ± 5.40) % (F = 2. 545, 5. 327, P<0. 05). At 4 and 5 d after treatment in Group A, float cells' apoptosis ratios were (26.30 ± 7.45) % and (27.90 ± 10. 38) %, respectively. Tumors were the major distribution site in Group A with uptake of (37.47 ±21.31), (35.96 ±7.80) and (15.46 ±4.93) %lD/g at 1 h, 1 d and 7 d after intra-tumor injection, respectively. The absorbed dose of tumor was 15 569 mGy/MBq. Condusions Transfection with k-ras-AGPNA on Patu8988 cells may inhibit k-ras expression at mRNA and protein expression level, and 188Re-k-ras-AGPNA can induce apoptosis of Patu8988 cells.Tumor is the major distribution site in nude mice bearing human pancreatic cancer xenografts after intratumoral injection of 188Re-k-ras-AGPNA.

Objective? To?understand?the?distribution?and?antibiotic?resistance?profile?of?clinical?isolates?in?the?Affiliated?Hospital?of Youjiang Medical University during 2015. Methods The pathogenic microorganisms were isolated from inpatients from January to?December,?2015?in?the?Affiliated?Hospital?of?Youjiang?Medical?University.?Antimicrobial?susceptibility?testing?was?carried?out?according?to?a?unified?protocol?using?Kirby-Bauer?method?or?VITEK?2-Compact?systems.?The?results?were?interpreted?according?to CLSL breakpoints released in 2014, and analyzed by WHONET 5.6 software. Results A total of 4004 strains of bacteria were collected, including 1146 (28.6%) strains of gram-positive bacteria, and 2858 (71.4%) strains of gram-negative organisms. The?prevalence?of?MRSA?and?MRCNS?was?25.8?%?and?79.4?%,?respectively.?MRSA?and?MRCNS?strains?were?significantly?more?resistant to most antibiotics than MSSA and MSCNS except trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Most of the S. pneumoniae isolates were from non-meningitis patients, showing high resistance rate to macrolides and tetracycline, but very low resistance rate to quinolones. Enterococcus isolates were mainly E. faecium and E. faecalis. More E. faecium were resistant to high-level gentamicin and high-level streptomycin than E. faecalis. E. faecium isolates were generally more resistant than E. faecalis to most of the antimicrobial agents tested except clindamycin and tetracyclines. But no gram-positive cocci were found resistant to vancomycin, linezolid or tigecycline. ESBLs-producing strains accounted for 53.1% of the E. coli strains and 28.5% of K. pneumoniae isolates. Enterobacteriaceae isolates were still very susceptible to carbapenems. E. coli isolates were more resistant to most of the antimicrobial agents tested than other Enterobacteriaceae except to piperacillin-tazobactam and carbapenems. Enterobacteriaceae showed higher resistance to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole than the other antibiotics tested. Majority of P. aeruginosa isolates were susceptible to all the antibiotics tested (<10% resistant). A. baumannii?strains?showed?significantly?higher?resistance rate than P. aeruginosa to all the antibiotics tested. Conclusions Most of the data in this report are consistent with the national?data?in?terms?of?antimicrobial?resistance?profile.?These?data?are?useful?for?rational?use?of?antibiotics.

Objective To investigate the CT features of the invasion of sublingual space by malignant oropharyngeal tumors in order to provide more accurate information for clinical treatment. Methods Fifty-eight cases of pathologically proven malignant oropharyngeal tumors were collected and retrospectively analyzed. Results Among all the cases, invasion of sublingual space by malignant oropharyngeal tumors could be seen in 14 cases, of which, 7 cases got access to sublingual space through tongue base, 3 cases through parapharyngeal space, 2 cases through pterygomandibular raphe, 2 cases through uncertain routes. Invasion of sublingual space manifested on CT scan as obliteration of fat plane in sublingual space and involvement of the sublingual vessels in the space. Conclusion Malignant oropharyngeal tumors can invade the adjacent sublingual space via tongue base, pterygomandibular raphe, and parapharyngeal space. The invasion of sublingual space by malignant oropharyngeal tumors manifests in CT as effacement of sublingual fat plane and envelopment of hyoid artery.

Objective To study the morphologic and pathological characteristics of cat scratch disease(CSD).Methods Eight cases with clinical data and tissue blocks were collected in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hainan Province.The tissues were successively stained by hematox- ylin and eosin,Warthin-Starry(W-S),acid fast and periodic acid-schiff(PAS)methods to study the histopathological changes and pathogens.Results W-S positive Bartonella henselae was the major pathogen of CSD and there was no acid-fast or PAS positive pathogen could be found in the tissues. There were three forms of histological representation as follows:plasmocytoid monocytes(PMO)and monocytoid B-cells(MBC)hyperplasia plus neutrophils immersion in lymphatic sinus(2 cases); MBC rich granuloma and micro-abscess formation(3 cases); starlit abscess with little or no bacteria in the granuloma(3 cases).Conclusions Bartonella henselae mainly transmits through cats.Contact histo- ry with cats and lymphadenectasis suggest the possibility of CSD.The diagnosis can be confirmed by the presence of W-S staining positive bacteria,MBC rich granuloma or micro-abscess and neutrophil reactions in histopathological exam.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) lipid derivatives could increase the stability of liposomes in vivo and in vitro and prolong the circulation time of liposomes in vivo. However, the chemical bond between PEG and lipid was so stable that liposomes modified with traditional PEG-lipid derivatives could not release their contents at targeted tissue immediately and the pharmacodynamic effect was reduced. The concept of cleavable PEG-lipid was raised in recent years and these PEG-lipid derivatives could break under physiological or pathological condition. The cleavable PEG-lipid derivatives could prolong the circulation time of liposomes, and after arriving at targeted location, PEG fragment had cleaved from the surface of liposomes, so liposomes could bind with pathological cells and release contents into cells. Removal of the protective polymer layer is necessary once the liposome close to the tumour to allow to fuse and release drug. Attempts have been made to increase the circulation time and reconstitute the cellular affinity of liposomes by incorporating PEG-lipid derivatives. This review focused on the kinds of cleavable PEG-lipid derivatives, types of cleavage, the application feature to liposomes and the advantages and localizations.

To assess the effect of cystocele (anterior pelvic organ prolapse,AOP)or stress urinary incontinence (SUI) on sex life quality in postmenopausal women under 65 years and observe the change of sex life quality after individualized surgical repair and tension-free vaginal tape-obturator (TVT-O).The postmenopausal patients aged 48 to 65 years at Beijing Hospital were observed from June 2008 to December 2010.They were divided into 3 groups of AOP (n =52),SUI (n =30) and control without gynecological and urinary system diseases on routine examinations (n =25).Their sexual life qualities were evaluated by pelvic organ prolapse/urinary incontinence sexual questionnaire (PISQ-31)with 31 items before treatment and at 3,6 months after surgical treatment in AOP and SUI groups.The sexual life quality scores were significantly lower in SUI group than those in control and AOP groups(P ＜ 0.01).It significantly increased after TVT-O treatment(P ＜0.01).There was no significant difference after treatment when compared with that before treatment in POP group.

Objective:To compare the modified Qjng Long Bai Wei needling method and ordinary acupuncture method in the effects of improving the levels of interleukin (IL)-1β,IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA),and to determine the advantage of the modified Qing Long Bai Wei needling method for KOA.Methods:One hundred KOA patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group by using the random number table,with 50 cases in each group.The treatment group was intervened by the modified Qing Long Bai Wei needling method,and the control group was given ordinary acupuncture.The two groups were observed before and after the treatment to determine the changes in the levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in synovial fluid,and the clinical efficacies were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate and clinical recovery rate were 97.9％ and 52.1％ respectively in the treatment group,versus 85.1％ and 25.5％ in the control group,and the between-group differences were statistically significant (both P＜0.01).After the treatment,the levels of Ib1β,IL-6 and TNF-cα in synovial fluid changed significantly in both groups (all P＜0.01);there were significant differences in the levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in synovial fluid between the two groups (all P＜0.01).Conclusion:The modified Qjng Long Bai Wei needling is an effective method for KOA and it can significantly improve the levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in synovial fluid.
