Objective To investigate the effects and partial mechanism of prednisone and TACI-Ig combination on MRL/Mpslac-lpr ( MRL/lpr) mice. Methods MRL/lpr mice were randomly divided into 6 groups, which includ-ed model group, prednisone (2. 5, 5. 0 mg/kg) group, TACI-Ig (15. 0 mg/kg) group, prednisone and TACI-Ig combination [(2. 5+7. 5) mg/kg, (2. 5+15. 0) mg/kg] group. BALB/c mice were set as normal group. Pred-nisone was given intragastrically everyday and TACI-Ig was given subcutaneously every two days for 13 weeks. In the meantime, the normal and model group were treated with an equal volume of normal saline. The general sign and proteinuria level were observed in the treatment period. The sections of spleen and kidney tissues for pathologi-cal analysis were stained with HE. Serum levels of auto-antibodies and BAFF were detected by ELISA kit. The per-centage of plasma cells and CD138 expression in the spleen were detected by flow cytometry analysis and immuno-histochemistry, respectively. Results The skin damage and the proteinuria level were improved and decreased by prednisone and TACI-Ig combination treatment. The spleen and kidney pathology were also improved including re-ducing germinal center formation and alleviating the glomerular fibrosis, mesangial cell hyperplasia and inflammato-ry cell infiltration, respectively. What was more, the percentage of splenic plasma cells ( CD19 -CD138 +) was re-duced significantly, which maybe resulted in the decrease in ANA. However the high level of anti-dsDNA antibody was not influenced by the combination treatment. The serum level of BAFF was also reduced by the combination treatment. Conclusion Prednisone and TACI-Ig combination treatment has a beneficial effect on murine SLE, which may be associated with the inhibition of plasma cell differentiation and the secretion of auto-antibody.

This study is to investigate the protective effect of mangiferin on NF-kappaB (P65) and IkappaBalpha expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) in rats with cigarette smoke induced chronic bronchitis. The rat model with chronic bronchitis was established by cigarette smoke. Real-time fluorescence RT-PCR was executed for evaluating the NF-kappaB (P65) and IKkappaBalpha gene expression in mononuclear cell, and flow cytometry for their protein expression. The serum hs-CRP (high-sensitivity C-reactive proteins) and TNF-alpha (tumor necrosis factor-alpha) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The histopathological score was obtained from lung tissue HE staining slides of lung tissue. The results showed that mangiferin could markedly suppress the NF-kappaB (P65) mRNA and protein expression in mononuclear cell, while promote the IkappaBalpha mRNA and protein expression. Furthermore, mangiferin could lower serum hs-CRP and TNF-alpha level, and reduce the chronic inflammatory damage of bronchiole. These results suggested that mangiferin could notably ameliorate chronic bronchiole inflammation induced by cigarette smoke, and this protective effect might be linked to the regulation of NF-kappaB (P65) and IkappaBalpha expression in mononuclear cell.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;(5):1037-1040
The overall concept is the core theory of traditional Chinese medicine ( TCM ) diagnosis and treat-ment system. During the process of building TCM effect evaluation on coronary heart disease (CHD), with the defined connotation and extension of heart diseases , except the consideration on its clinical symptoms , TCM four diagnosis and various current modern cardiovascular disease diagnostic methods should be organically com-bined according to the original macro basis . The micro quantitative evaluation is given on therapeutic effect of disease treatment in order to construct the complete TCM effect evaluation system.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2004;0(02):-
Objective: To study whether the bond strength between enamel and composite resin could be enhanced by intraoral sand abrasive. Methods: Ten human maxillary first incisior teeth were divided into 2 groups The experimental group was sandblasted with 30 ?m Al 2O 3 (CoJet Sand, pressure 300 kPa) from a distance of 5 mm for 5 seconds, and the control group were not sandblasted. The Herculite composite resin composite cylinders were bonded with Coltene system. Bonded specimens were stored in 37 ℃ distilled water for 24 h, then were subjected to shear force in a testing machine Stress at failure was calculated in Mpa, and mode of failure was recorded. The Student t test was applied to the data. Results: The shear bond strength of experimental groups was (33.0?1.8) MPa , and that of control groups was (26.7?5.2) MPa ,there was significant difference between these two groups. All the adhesive failures happened at the enamel composite resin interface , except that cohesive failure happened in one sandblasted specimen. Conclusion: Intraoral sandblasting could significantly enhance the shear bond strength between enamel and composite resin.
