Objective To investigate the imaging findings of primary bone malignant fibrous histiocytoma (PBMFH) in long bone. Methods MRI and XV ray examinations were performed in 10 patients with PBMFH in long bone confirmed by histology. CT scans were performed in 6 cases. Results Nine cases had single and 1 case had multiple lesions of single bone. Seven cases showed osteolytic bone destruction, and 3 cases showed mixed bone destruction. Only 1 case showed periosteal reaction. Gross bony ridge was seen in 3 cases on CT scan. All the patients demonstrated isointensity or hypointensity on T1WI, and slight hyperintensity signal on T2WI. Necrosis was seen in the lesion of 10 cases. Four cases showed obvious but heterogeneous enhancement after contrast medium injection. Eight cases had soft tissue mass beyond the scope of bone destruction. Conclusions Some imaging features may suggest the diagnosis of PBMFH in long bone.

Objective:To explore the correlation between serum level of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2)and se-verity of coronary artery disease in aged patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS)complicated hyperhomocys-teinemia (HHCY).Methods:According to serum level of homocysteine (Hcy),a total of 105 aged ACS patients were selected and divided into ACS+HHCY group (n=56)and pure ACS patients (n=49),another 65 healthy in-dividuals were enrolled as healthy control group. The severity of coronary artery disease was showed by Gensini score ;enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure serum MMP-2 level in each group.Results:Com-pared with healthy control group, there were significant rise in MMP-2 level [(140.8±50.1)ng/ml vs.(442.5± 98.2)ng/ml,(297.9±86.3)ng/ml]in ACS+HHCY group and pure ACS group,P <0.01. Gensini score in ACS+HHCY group was significantly higher than that of pure ACS group [(1.9±0.2)scores vs.(1.1±0.3)scores,P<0.01].Pearson correlation analysis indicated that Gensini score was positively correlated with MMP-2 level in ACS+HHCY group (r =0.424,P <0.05).Conclusion:The serum MMP-2 level is significantly positively correla-ted with severity of coronary artery disease in aged patients with ACS complicated HHCY.

Objective To explore the expression of the Merlin protein in normal cervix and cervical can-cer of the Han,Tibetan and Hui nationalities in Qinghai. Methods Immunohisto-chemical staining was per-formed to detect the expression of Merlin in 108 cases of cervical carcinoma(40 cases of Han,38 cases of Tibetan and 30 cases of Hui nationality)and 107 cases of normal cervix(40 cases of Han,37 cases of Tibetan and 30 cas-es of Hui nationality). Results The positive expression rates of Merlin in normal cervix were 90.0%,91.9%and 86.7%respectively and those in cervical carcinoma were 17.5%,18.4%and 16.7%respectively. There was signifi-cantly statistical difference(P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the positive rates of Merlin between cervical carcinoma among different ethnic groups(P>0.05). The expression of Merlin was not correlated with age,FIGO stage, lymph metastasis and cell differentiation(P > 0.05)in cervical carcinoma of three ethnic groups. Conclusion The decrease or even deletion of Merlin may be involved in the development of cervical can-cer,and it plays an important role in cervical cancer. The expression of Merlin exerts no effect on the occurrence of cervical cancer and it is not associated with the clinical characteristics of the patients ,suggesting that it may not be involved in the invasion and metastasis of cervical cancer.

China Oncology 2014;(10):761-764
Background and purpose: High-dose chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT) is considered as the ifrst line treatment for patients with relapse/refractory lymphoma after conventional chemotherapy. However, most of these patients still relapse the second time. The purpose of this study was to analyze the efifcacy of the consolidation chemotherapy after autologous stem cell transplantation (HSCT) refractory/relapse lymphoma in high risk. Methods:A total of 38 patients with relapsed/refractory lymphoma including Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) were included, who were underwent auto-HSCT in our transplan-tation department from Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2013. In treatment group, 19 patients received 2 courses of consolidation che-motherapy after auto-HSCT every 2 to 3 months, with the regimen of mini-BEAM or modiifed mini-CBV. Another 19 patients had no chemotherapy after auto-HSCT as control group. Results:The median follow-up duration was 17.2 and 7.5 months in the treatment and control group respectively. The follow-up data demonstrated prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) in the treatment group than the control group [24.7 months vs 7.8 months, P=0.029 under intend-to-treat analysis ITT;24.7 months vs 5.2 months, P=0.01 under per protocol analysis(pp)]. There is also a trend of improved overall survival (OS) in the treatment group (P=0.055, ITT). Conclusion:Consolidation chemotherapy after auto-HSCT for refractory/relapsed lymphoma patients delay the relapse and tend to improve the overall relapse rate.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(29):4645-4651
BACKGROUND:Delayed onset muscle soreness is closely related to skeletal muscle micro-injury, but the exact mechanism of skeletal muscle micro-injury is not yet clear. OBJECTIVE:To observe the histomorphological and ultrastructure changes of skeletal muscle micro-injury models induced by eccentric exercise. METHODS: Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into quiet control group, immediately after exercise group, post-exercise 24 hours group, post-exercise 48 hours group and post-exercise 72 hours group. In the latter four groups, the rats were subjected to intermittent running on the-16° slope at a speed of 16 m/min: 5 minutes movement, 2 minutes rest and totaly 120 minutes. Rats in the latter four groups were observed immediately, at 24, 48, 72 hours after exercise. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After eccentric exercise, the morphology and ultrastructure of rat’s skeletal muscle were both changed to different extents, and Desmin and Vimentin were dyed off for anti-desmin antibody staining at varying degrees. It indicates that one-time eccentric exercise can cause delayed skeletal muscle micro-injury.

Journal of China Pharmaceutical University 2009;40(4):364-369
Aim: To construct a prokaryotic expression vector carrying NuBCP-9-tumstatin(74-98) (abbreviated as NT) gene and to obtain the fusion peptide with antitumor activity. Methods: Nucleotide sequences of antitumor peptides, NuBCP-9 and Tumstatin( 74-98), were connected via a linker(G_4S)_3 based on biased codons of E. coli the fused NT gene was reconstructed using SOE PCR, and inserted into pET32a(+) vector, and transformed in E. coli BL21(DE3). After expression, the novel fusion peptide was purified through nickel-affinity chromatogra-phy, Factor Xa digestion and ultrafiltration. Biological activity of the fusion peptide on ECV304 and A549 cells was evaluated by MTT assay. Results: A prokaryotic expression system with NT gene was successfully constructed. The soluble fusion peptide was accounted for approximately 25% when induced by 0. 5 mmol/L IPTG at 30 ℃ for 4 h. The purified fusion peptide could inhibit cell growth of ECV304 and A549 with inhibition rates of 60. 8% and 65. 2% at 20 μmol/L, respectively. Conclusion: A novel fusion peptide with antitumor activity was cloned, expressed and purified.
