Objective To investigate the association of gene polymorphism of cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) with ulcerative colitis (UC) in Chinese patients. Methods The A+49G transition polymorphism at position 49 (exon 1) and C-318T transition polymorphism at position -318 in promoter of the CTLA-4 gene were determined by polymerase chain reaction with sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP) method in 82 Chinese patients with UC and 204 healthy controls of Han nationality. Results No significant differences in the distribution of genotype and allele frequencies were observed between CTLA-4 C-318T and A+49G gene polymorphisms in UC patients and normal controls. Objective To explore the changes of CD4~+ cell and relevant cytokines from chronic hepatitis B patients and the significance was discussed. Methods The expression of CD4,CD8 and CD28 molecules on PBMC was detected with Flow Cytometry.The levels of IL-2,IFN-?,IL-4,IL-10 and IL-12 in serum were measured with ELISA,and the liver function test including serum ALT,SB,ALP and albumin was conducted. Objective To study the dynamic change of polysaccharide from Asarum insigne in Guizhou during different harvest period and its hemostatic effect. Methods Asarum insigne polysaccharide was extracted by water isolation and alcohol precipitation. We measured the polysaccharide content by UV spectrophotometry after impurity and purification and detected the bleeding and clotting time by tail cutting and slide methods in mice. Results There was significant variation in polysaccharide content of Asarum insigne at different harvest time, which was at a higher level in June(1. 78%-1. 82%). The bleeding time in mice of normal control group was (6. 73±1. 21) min,and that in mice treated with refined polysaccharide at high dose was (4. 91±1. 58) min,the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0. 01). The clotting time in mice of normal control group was (7. 27±2. 09) min,and that in the refined polysaccharide at middle and high dose groups was (3. 96±1. 78) min and (3. 27±1. 61) min,respectively. The latter two groups were obviously different from the normal control group(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). Conclusion The polysaccharide is an active hemostatic substance in Asarum insigne and the optimum harvest time of it is in June for the clinical use.

BACKGROUND:Tai Chi exercise can relax the affected muscle of patients, increase muscle flexibility and strength, promote normal movement patterns of stroke patients, inhibit abnormal posture and spasm patterns, improve patient motion control and balance function. OBJECTIVE:To systematicaly assess the effectiveness of Tai Chi on the movement, emotional disorder and quality of life in patients with stroke. METHODS: Al extracted data from databases of PubMed, EMbase, Web of Science, EBSCO, Google Scholar, CNKI, VIP and Wangfang were obtained, which were the randomized controled trials addressing the effects of Tai Chi on the movement, emotional disorder and quality of life in patients with stroke. The retrieval time was from database establishment to July 1st, 2015. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two reviewers independently screened, extracted data and assessed the methodological quality of the included literatures. Then the meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 15 randomized controled trials involving 1016 patients were included. The results of Meta-analysis suggested that: Tai Chi was superior to the conventional rehabilitation in improvement of balance function [mean difference (MD)=7.87, 95% confidence interval (CI) (4.56, 11.18),P < 0.000 01], gait speed [MD=0.27, 95%CI (0.04, 3.94),P=0.02], anxiety [standardized mean difference (SMD)=-0.47, 95%CI(-0.89,-0.04),P=0.03] and quality of life [SMD=0.65, 95%CI(0.10, 1.19),P=0.02], and there were statistical differences. But there was no statisticaly significant difference in the improvement of depression and functional walking ability. These findings indicate that Tai Chi is superior to the conventional rehabilitation in the improvement of balance function, gait speed, anxiety and quality of life. However, large-sample, high-quality randomized controled trials are needed to provide more reliable evidence for the effect of Tai Chi in depression and functional walking ability.

Objectives To investigate the clinical features of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) in children from Shen-zhen. Methods The clinical manifestations, results of electrophysiological tests and prognosis of 28 GBS patients from July 2002 to July 2012 were retrospectively analysed. Results Of 28 children, 16(57.1%) had preceding acute upper respiratory infection for 3-14 days but no patient had acute gastroenteritis. One had received HBV vaccination in 2 weeks before the onset of GBS. The peak season for GBS is spring. According to the clinical presentations and the neurophysiological results 17 patients had demyelinating neuropathy, 5 acute motor axonal neuropathy, 2 acute motor sensory axonal neuropathy, 3 Miller-fisher syndrome, and 1 polyneuritis cranialis. 14 (50.0%) patients suffered from pain in limbs which is the most nota-ble symptom in the early stage. Intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) and steroids were given during the acute phases in the majority of the patients, and assisted ventilation was performed in 2 patients due to respiratory muscle paralysis. No diffe-rence was found in Hughes scores, average hospitalization durations, and the prognosis between patients with GBS variants patients and patients with classic GBS. Conclusions Children with GBS in Shenzhen area have different clinical features.

Objective To study the morphologic and pathological characteristics of cat scratch disease(CSD).Methods Eight cases with clinical data and tissue blocks were collected in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hainan Province.The tissues were successively stained by hematox- ylin and eosin,Warthin-Starry(W-S),acid fast and periodic acid-schiff(PAS)methods to study the histopathological changes and pathogens.Results W-S positive Bartonella henselae was the major pathogen of CSD and there was no acid-fast or PAS positive pathogen could be found in the tissues. There were three forms of histological representation as follows:plasmocytoid monocytes(PMO)and monocytoid B-cells(MBC)hyperplasia plus neutrophils immersion in lymphatic sinus(2 cases); MBC rich granuloma and micro-abscess formation(3 cases); starlit abscess with little or no bacteria in the granuloma(3 cases).Conclusions Bartonella henselae mainly transmits through cats.Contact histo- ry with cats and lymphadenectasis suggest the possibility of CSD.The diagnosis can be confirmed by the presence of W-S staining positive bacteria,MBC rich granuloma or micro-abscess and neutrophil reactions in histopathological exam.

Objective To investigate the value of ultrasound in tethered cord syndrome (TCS) in infants. Methods From December 2005 to July 2013, 25 cases TCS were confirmed by surgery in Shenzhen children's hospital. The ultrasonogram and MRI of 25 infants were analysed retrospectively. The diagnostic accuracy of ultra-sound and its clinical significance were evaluated. Results In 25 cases of TCS confirmed by surgery, the coincidence rate of conus level detected by ultrasound [96%(23/24)] was lower than that by MRI (100%(25/25)). Ultrasound showed reduced spinal cord vibration in 4 cases, disappeared spinal cord vibration in 21 cases. Two cases of reduced spinal cord vibration detected by ultrasound were confirmed as disappeared spinal cord vibration by surgery. The coincidence rate of disappeared spinal cord vibration detected by ultrasound was 91%(21/23). The sacral spinal seg-ments form showed by ultrasound were entirely consistent with those of MRI, including 4 cases of enlarged spinal cord, 13 cases of spinal cord without enlargement and 8 cases of spinal cord ended with rat caudate. Twenty-five cases of TCS had malformations:7 cases meningocele (3 cases combined lipoma), 14 cases myelomeningocele (5 cases combined lipoma, 1 case combined hydromyelia), 3 cases spinal canal-epidermis fistula (all combined lipoma) and 1 case solitary lipoma. Compared with the operation findings, ultrasound misdiagnosed 2 cases of myelomeningo-cele as meningocele, missed 1 of case lipoma which combined with meningocele. MRI missed two cases of spinal canal-epidermis fistula. Conclusions Infantile spinal ultrasound examination can accurately locate the position of conus, accurately display the spinal cord. Compared with MRI, ultrasound examination can real-time visually display spinal cord vibration and help to diagnose tethered cord. Ultrasound examination are convenient, repeatable opera-tion with low cost, therefore it can be used as the preferred screening method to diagnose of tethered spinal cord.

ObjectiveTo explore the imaging features of fetal tuberous sclerosis complex by ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging.MethodsRetrospective analysis on the imaging characteristics of the 10 cases of fetuses confirmed as tuberous sclerosis complex who were examined in Hubei Maternal and Child Healthcare Hospital in July 2013 to December 2014 by ultrasonography and MRI, which was compared with the pathological data of specimens and follow-up after birth.ResultsEighteen cases were diagnosed as fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma by ultrasonography among all of the 996 fetuses, in which lesions were located on the ventricular wall near septum or elsewhere in the heart cavity on ultrasonography. Fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma was characterized by circular, homogeneous high echo (singleton in 4 cases, multiple in 14 cases). Among them no subependymal nodule was found by ultrasonographic. Ten cases of subependymal nodule were found by magnetic resonance imaging, which were diagnosed as tuberous sclerosis complex with cardiac rhabdomyomas, including 3 cases of brain subcortical tubers. The subependymal nodules under the lateral ventricle wall showed characteristic low signal nodules on T2WI, protruding from the ependymal surface. Of 18 cases, only 4 cases of fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma were found by MRI. Nine cases of ifnally had termination of pregnancy. Two cases were conifrmed as cardiac rhabdomyoma with intracranial nodules after pathological examination, and 1 case was conifrmed as tuberous sclerosis complex after birth. ConclusionsPrenatal ultrasonography can diagnose fetal cardiac rhabdomyoma successfully, and MRI can diagnose the fetal brain nodules sensitively. Once ultrasonography finds cardiac rhabdomyoma, it may be promising to diagnose fetal tuberous sclerosis complex by ultrasonography combined with MRI.

Objective Analyzing the construction process and application of health appropriate technology database in Zhejiang province and proposing related considerations and recommendations for the database construction.Methods To design and construct the technology database system,and using excel software to calculate statistic data.Results Established a health appropriate technology database,which contains 826 technologies that can be selected and promoted by the demonstration bases in the whole province.Conclusions The establishment of the technology database increased the efficiency of health appropriate technology transformation at the provincial level,and also provided a reference for the national-wide generalizing of health appropriate technology.
