Objective To preliminarily investigate curative effect of hepatic arterial perfusion of p53 gene in the therapy of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.Methods Tirty cases of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma were divided into experimental group and control group,p53 gene was perfused into target artery confirmed by angiography.In experimental group,10~(12)Vp of p53 gene and 20 mg OPT were employed every week as a course for 21 days and 1 to 4 courses time the cases of the study.In control group,only 20 mg OPT was used.Results The survival period was 14 to 405 days in experimental group and 18 to 167 days in control group.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P＜0.05). Conclusion p53 gene is efficacious in the therapy of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.(J Intervent Radiol,2007,16:127-129)

This concise review focused on the anti-cancer activity natural products isolated from Chinese Garcinia plants, and the research finding by authors and collaborators over the past several years were cited.

The complete genomes of more cyanobacterial strains have been completed for sequence, and genetic engineering of cyanobacteria has evolved in the post-genome era. Since Kaneko and colleagues had completed the sequence for the complete genome of Anabaena sp. PCC 7120 in 2001, functions of some genes in this genome, including fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FBA) gene, have been predicated using the method of bioinformatics. However, little information is available regarding whether this gene can encode FBA and its product characteristics of related enzyme. Here, to explore this information, the predicted II-FBA gene-encoding region in Cyanobase database was cloned by PCR method and then ligated into pET-32a to generate the expression vector, pET-FBA-II. The results of SDS-PAGE indicated that the expression level of the expected target polypeptide was approximate 23.4 percent as compared to total protein and the molecular weight is about 40 kDa as compared to the protein molecular marker. The results of enzyme activity analysis showed that the activity of II-FBA was ~11.8 U per mg protein and owned a standard activity of II-FBA. To sum up, the results not only prove the functional prediction of this II-FBA gene from the Cyanobase database, but also provide the important conditions for further studying its physiological and biochemical characteristics and functions of the gene expression product.

Objective To study the efficacy and safety magnesium sulfate for the treatment of adult severe tetanus.MethodsTwenty-seven inpatients with adult severe tetanus during April 2005 - October 2010 were retrospectively analysed.ResultsThe total serum magnesium more than 4 mmol/L was found in 2 patients ( 2/27,7.40％ ).The tracheotomy was performed in 25 Patients (25/27,92.6％),22 of which (22/25,88.0％) run mechanical ventilation with the mean mechanical ventilation time (7.5 ± 3.7 ) days,(4 to 16 days).Pulmonary infection occurred in 25 cases (25/27,92.6％).Twenty-three of 27 (23/27,85.2％ ) cases were cured except 4 cases died,and the mean hospital stay was (32.22 ± 18.78) days,(25to 48) days.Conclusions20％ magnesium sulfate is safe for treatment of the patients of adult severe tetanus.It can control not only muscle rigidity and spasms but also autonomic instability efficaciously,and lower the dosage of sedative such as diazepam and chlorpromazine.This method is worth popularizing in clinical practice for its easy operation and low cost.

Objective To investigate the expression of immunohistochemistry of gastrin(GAS),somatostatin(SS),proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and Fas-ligand(Fas-L) in the sinus ventriculi of children with pediatric gastritis and to explore the significance of their expression in the pathogenesis of pediatric chronic gastritis.Methods Fifty cases of the sinus ventriculi mucosa samples were enrolled in 3 groups:chronic gastritis,helicobacter pylori(Hp) positive(group A,n=20);chronic gastritis,Hp negative(group B,n=19);control group,normal sinus ventriculi mucosa,Hp negative(group C,n=11).Immunohistochemistry En Vision were carried out including GAS,SS,PCNA and Fas-L.Results In the expression of GAS and SS,the values of group A and B were comparatively higher than those of group C,but there was no significant difference among them in statistics.In the expression of PCNA,the value of group A was comparatively higher and that of group B.The value difference between 2 groups was significant(P=0.019);in the expression of Fas-L,no significant difference was found among these 3 groups.Conclusions Expressions of GAS and SS both increase in children with chronic gastritis and maybe the increase of GAS and SS play a role in the pathogenesis of pediatric chronic gastritis;Hp infection promotes the multiplication of the sinus ventriculi membrana mucosa epithelium cell in pediatric chronic gastritis.

Objective To identify histopathologic correlates for the various MRI appearances of breast fibroadenomas.Methods Thirty-eight fibroadenomas in 33 patients(aged 24—57 years)examined with gadolonium-enhanced MR imaging were observed for signal intensity on T_2-weighted images,contrast enhancement,shape,and internal septation,and these findings were correlated with histopathologic findings.All cases underwent surgery and were proved by pathology.Results(1)The lesion shape was lobular,or round in 34 of 38 fibroadenomas(89.5%).(2)The signal intensity on T_1-weighted images was less than or equal to that of fibroglandular tissue in all cases.The signal intensity on T_2-weighted images was highly varible:high T_2 signal intensity was associated with more myxomatous stromal(mean myxoid-sclerotic index value of 1.9),higher stromal cellularity(mean stromal cellularity index value of 2.2); Fibroadenomas with low T_2 signal intensity had stromal that was nearly uniformly sclerotic(mean myxoid- sclerotic index values of 2.8)and low stromal cellularity(mean stromal-cellularity index value of 1.2). Significant differences were found between these two groups,x~2=11.267 and x~2=10.415(P0.05).The degree of contrast enhancement was proved to be related to ages of patients.The enhancement was more intensely in younger patients.(5)Internal septations were identified within nine of 33 enhancing fibroadenomas (27.3%)and appeared to correlated with collagenous bands at histopatholigic analysis.Conclusions Fibroadenomas demonstrate marked histopathologic variability.The resultant variability in the MR appearance correlated with the degree of myxomatous or sclerotic and stromal cellularity.Lobulation and internal septation,which appear to reflect intrinsic growth patterns of fibroadenomas,may provide more reliable information for distinction.Familiarity with the diagnostic features would facilitate to make the differential diagnosis correctly.

So far there exists no corresponding quality test procedures and grading standards for the seed of Prunus humilis, which is one of the important source of base of semen pruni. Therefor we set up test procedures that are adapt to characteristics of the P. humilis seed through the study of the test of sampling, seed purity, thousand-grain weight, seed moisture, seed viability and germination percentage. 50 cases of seed specimens of P. humilis tested. The related data were analyzed by cluster analysis. Through this research, the seed quality test procedure was developed, and the seed quality grading standard was formulated. The seed quality of each grade should meet the following requirements: for first grade seeds, germination percentage ≥ 68%, thousand-grain weight 383 g, purity ≥ 93%, seed moisture ≤ 5%; for second grade seeds, germination percentage ≥ 26%, thousand-grain weight ≥ 266 g, purity ≥ 73%, seed moisture ≤9%; for third grade seeds, germination percentage ≥ 10%, purity ≥ 50%, thousand-grain weight ≥ 08 g, seed moisture ≤ 13%.

Purpose:To investigate the efficacy of infusion gemcitabine via artery port and catheter system (PCS) for advanced pancreatic cancer.Methods:57 cases advanced pancreatic cancer proved by pathology were implanted Implantofix PCS.The number of ports implanted subcutaneously in inferior right abdomen and subcutanceusly in inferior chest was 48 and 9 cases respectively.The first total does in experience group was gemcitabine 3.0,5-FU 3.0,IL-2 6 million u via three times infusion.Results:The overall implanted successful rates was 100% and indwelling catheter tip dislocation rate was 0. Two PCS were pulled out in 2 fat old female patients because of bad wound healing after two months.In the experimental and control group according to the standard of clinical benefit-responces were 37 and 20 respectively.The obvious improve- ment in pain in experimental and control group was 27.2% and 4.8%,respectively.The duration of clinical benefit-re- sponces were 18 weeks in experimental groups,13 weeks in control group.The midian survival in experimental group was 6.25 months,4.41 months in control group.The 6-,9-,12-months survival rates in experimental group were 46%,24%, 18% more thans 31%,6% and 2% in control group.Conclusions:Infusion gemcitabine via artery PCS can not only relieve pain,prolong survival rate but also provides a long-term intra-arterial chemotherapy and effctive access for advanced pancre- atic cancer.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the point prevalence of nosocomial infection(NI) and discover the problems in the management of NI in a hospital.METHODS A team of surveyors were trained to inquire history of illness,do physical examination for inpatients and collect some necessary data from medical records on a single day.Questionnaires about NI cases were filled out and analyzed.RESULTS From 1500 patients,1493(99.53%) patients were investigated,the point prevalence and case prevalence of NI were 5.69% and 6.03%;the highest prevalence appeared in internal medicine at 8.54%;lower respiratory tract infections accounted for 38.89%;the detection rate of multi-drug resistant(MDR) bacteria was 49.23%;antimicrobial utilization rate was 48.69%.CONCLUSIONS The prevalence survey is a rapid and efficient method,which could offer evidence of target surveillance of NI.
