Objective To evaluate spiral CT in localizing and measuring intraocular foreign body.Methods 25 patients underwent spiral CT scan,a simple method that the authors developed was used to localize and measure the foreign body and to gain the distance of the arc from foreign body to corneal margin.Results The data gained from the localization method were proved to be accurate by operation.Conclusion The method of spiral CT localization of intraocular foreign body is simple,useful,accurate and worthy to be used extensively in clinic.

Objective To evaluate the curative effect in treatment of hepatic metastases tumor with poorly blood supply through superselective transcatheter nutrient arterial full chemoembolization.Methods 75 cases of hepatic metastases tumors with poorly blood supply were treated by full chemoembolization through superselective transcatheter nutrient arterial infusion under DSA guided.Results After treatment 2～3 months,CT scans showed that totally 202 tumors in 75 cases,the tumors were fully filled with lipiodol in 189,large part in 11 and not well in 2.159 tumors were obviously shrunk,41 tumors were shrunk part,2 tumors were not obviously shrunk.The survival rate in 6 months,12 months,24 months,36 months and 3～5 years was 100%(75/75),85.3%(64/75),55%(41/75),42.7%(32/75)and 20%(15/75)respectively.Conclusion The transcatheter superselective nutrient arterial full filling chemoembolization for hepatic metastases tumor with poorly blood supply is a effective therapy.

Objective To evaluate the value of clinical application of the three dimensional (3D) and multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) with multislice spiral CT(MSCT) in skull and maxillofacial fracture. Methods Twenty patients with skull and maxillofacial fracture were examined with MSCT, then MPR and three-dimensional surface shaded display (3D-SSD) were performed in work-station. Results MSCT MPR imaging clearly showed all fractures in 20 patients, and were more accurate than 3D-SSD in displaying tiny fracture and fracture of deep structure. 3D-SSD imaging could stereoscopically and directly show the fracture location, type, range, the course of irregular fracture line and fragment displacement. Conclusion MSCT MPR imaging in combination with 3D imaging is of high value in diagnosis and treatment of skull and maxillofacial fracture.

Objective To study the relationship between serum high sensitive C-reactive protein(Im-CRP) and acute coronary syndrome(ACS). Methods We detected and analyzed the levels of hs-CRP in 38 clinical deft-trite patients with ACS. Results Patients with ACS had significantly higher serum hs-CRP levels than the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion Serum hs-CRP level has high correlation with ACS, and the hs-CRP maybe a arthero-sclerosis marker,which reflected the process of coronary artery disease.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of retroperitoneal laparoscopy for patients with upper ureteral calculi. Methods A total of 35 patients with upper ureteral calculi were treated with retroperitoneal laparoscopy. Results The operation was completed in all but one patient, who was converted to open surgery because the calculi moved into the renal pelvis. The operation time ranged from 70 to 135 minutes (mean, 110 minutes). Intraoperative blood loss was 20 to 55 ml (mean, 36 ml). No patient had over-2-day urine leakage. Retroperitoneal drainage tube was removed 2 to 3 days after the operation. The postoperative hospital stay ranged from 6 to 10 days (mean, 7.8 days). One month after the operation, when double-J catheter was removed, ultrasonography showed that 9 cases who had severe hydronephrosis before operation was relieved. In the 26 patients with mild or moderate hydronephrosis, the symptoms disappeared in 17, and were relieved in the other 9. Seven patients with severe hydronephrosis and 11 patients with mild or moderate hydronephrosis achieved a 2-to 6-month follow-up, none of them developed recurrent calculi during the period. The severity of hydronephrosis in these patients was same to that determined one month postoperation. Conclusions Retroperitoneal laparoscopy is feasible for patients with upper ureteral calculi. The method can be used as an alternative to open surgery of microinvasive operation.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of hypoxia on migration, invasion and adhesion to endothelial cells of human pulmonary adenocarcinoma A549 cells. Methods: Wound-healing and Transwell invasion assays were performed to study the effect of hypoxia on migration and invasion of A549 cells. Cell adhesion test was used to detect the adhesion of A549 cells to a monolayer of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Immunofluorescence assay was used to evaluate the effect of hypoxia on distribution of E-cadherin, β-catenin, and F-actin. The luciferase reporter gene assay was performed to detect the transcription of hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) alpha. Results: Hypoxia promotes A549 cell migration, invasion, and adhesion to endothelial cells, and modulated the distribution of E-cadherin and β-catenin and rearrangement of actin cytoskeletal protein, and up-regulated HIF-1-dependent reporter gene expression in A549 cells. Conclusion: Hypoxia promoted A549 cell migration, invasion, and adhesion to endothelial cells by upregulating HIF-1-dependent gene expression, subsequently affecting the redistribution of E-cadherin and β-catenin and rearrangement of F-actin cytoskeletal protein.
