Diabetic macular edema ( DME ) is a major cause of visual impairment in patients with diabetes mellitus, the central retinal thickness ( CRT ) is correlated with the visual impairment and the changes of visual function before and after treatment. Furthermore, CRT is related to the changes of macular microstructure. The subtle changes of retinal microstructure can be qualitative and quantitative analyzed by spectral- domain OCT ( SD -OCT) . In this study, the changes of retinal microstructure in patients with DME are reviewed, what is of great meaning to explore mechanism, observe disease progress, guide clinical treatment and prospect prognosis of DME.

Objective To investigate the CT features of mesenteric lymph nodes in patients with active Crohn’s disease.Methods The CT findings in 54 patients with active Crohn's disease proved by histology were analyzed,and the anatomic distribution,size, number,shape and enhancement ratio (ER)of the mesenteric lymph node were assessed.Results Mesenteric lymphadenopathy in 38 patients (70.4%)was found with a total number of 242,83.5%(202/242)of whom were located at the mesenteric root and 16.5%(40/242) at mesenteric edge.The size of the lymph nodes at the mesenteric root was larger than that at the mesenteric edge (8.57 mm±2.26 mm versus 5.38 mm±0.1 9 mm,the mean maximum short diameter),and 73.6% (1 78/242 )of the lymph nodes were oval in shape.The lymph nodes showed significant enhancement after contrast injection with an ER of 0.53 ±0.09.Conclusion Active CD often leads to mesenteric lymphadenopathy,which is more obvious at the mesenteric root.

Objective To observe the effect of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI) on insulin sensiti-(vity) in dogs with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) after thrombolytic treatment. Methods Twenty dogs were made as AMI models and then underwent thrombolytic treatment.The dogs were divided into the control group(n=10) and the captopril group(n=10) randomly.Insulin,plasma glucose,erythrocyte insulin receptor(EIR),nitrogen(NO) and angiotensin Ⅱ(AT Ⅱ) were(detected) and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) was calculated.The changes of these values in the two groups were contrasted. Garcinia plants are one of the rich sources of natural xanthones and benzophenones which have attracted a great deal of attention from the scientists in the fields of chemistry and pharmacology. Recently, many structurally unique constituents with various bioactivities, especially anti-tumor activity, have been isolated from Garcinia plants. This concise review focused on the anti-cancer activity natural products isolated from Chinese Garcinia plants, and the research finding by authors and collaborators over the past several years were cited.

It is crucial to improve the health care quality during the progress of constructing the new health care system in both urban and rural area.On the condition of increasing government commonweal investment for the basic health care,the standardized training program for the district medical practitioners will become the pivotal step to improve district health care in urban and rural area,standardize medical service,reduce the medical cost and optimize the accessibility to medical care for the mass.Taking the consideration on the personal resource of district medical service in the urban and rural area in China,certain strategic proposals related to the standardized training program for the fundamental medical practitioners are discussed.

On the basis of the Uncaria transcriptome, specific primers were designed for UrSTR. The full-length cDNA of UrSTR (GeneBank: OL310251) was 1 541 bp, encoding 345 amino acid residues, and the promoter region sequence of UrSTR (GeneBank: OL310252) was 1 179 bp. Phylogenetic tree is revealed that UrSTR had a closest relationship with STR from Ophiorrhiza pumila and Ophiorrhiza japonica. Localization of UrSTR protein is revealed located in the vacuole membrane. Plant-care analysis indicated that the promoter region sequence of UrSTR, covering multiple light, stress and hormone-response cis-regulatory elements, and verified transcriptional activity. The results of SDS-PAGE show that pET-28a-UrSTR recombinant protein was successfully expressed, and the size was anticipated. The UrSTR prokaryotic expression system needs to be optimized in the later stage. The research lays the foundation for further purification to study its structure and functional characterization of the UrSTR protein.

Ten glycosidic compounds were isolated from an ethanol extract of Machilus wangchiana by a combination of various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography over silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 and reversed-phase flash chromatography and HPLC. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic data analysis (IR, MS, and NMR) as icariside B1 (1), boscialin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), pisumionoside (3), isolariciresinol-9'-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (4), 5'-methoxyisolariciresinol-9'-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (5), lyoniresinol-9'-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (6), (E) -4-hydroxyphenylprop-7-ene 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), (E) - 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylprop-7-ene 4-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 6) -β-D-glucopyranoside (8), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylprop-8-ene 4-O-β-D-xylopyraosyl-(1 --> 6) -β-D-glucopyranoside (9), and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenylprop-8-ene 4-O-α-L-rhamnpyranosyl-(1 --> 6)-β-D- glucopyranoside (10), respectively.
