Objective To investigate the effects of kui-yang-fang on trefoil factor 1 ( TFF1 ) , epidermal growth fac-tor ( EGF) and epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) in acetic acid induced gastric ulcers of rats. Methods50 rats were randomly divided into five groups. The rats of the gastric ulcer model were used by the icy acetic acid. After drug treatment for 14 days,the rats gastric mucosa was collected to compare to the ulcer index,then check the content of TFF1,EGF and EGFR with RT-PCR,and observe TFF1,EGFR with immunohistochemical staining. Re-sults Compared to the control,the levels of TFF1 and EGF in model group decreased, and the difference was not statistically significant. The EGFR level of model group was higher than that of normal group with no statistically significant difference. But the increase of kui-yang-fang groups and ranitidine group was more obvious,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Compared to the model group,kui-yang-fang and ranitidine groups signifi-cantly elevated the level of TFF1,EGF and EFR in gastric ulcer,the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01 ) . Immunohistochemical staining showed that TFF1 and EGFR expression in kui-yang-fang and ranitidine groups were significantly increased,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01), but the increase of kui-yang-fang of high-dose group was more obvious. Conclusion One of the possible mechanism is kui-yang-fang pro-motes expression of TFF1,EGF and EGFR to protect and repair gastric tissue.

Results and ConclusionVTK is a powerful tool with many advantages, such as easy to use, fast, good interaction ability, good results for image reconstruction and so on.

Objective To investigate the effects of Simo decoction on ghrelin and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in diabetic rats.Methods A total of 48 SD rats were divided into healthy control group,diabetes group (DM),DM treated with low dose Simo decoction group (DMTL),DM treated with medium dose Simo decoction group (DM-TM),DM treated with high dose Simo decoction group (DM-TH) and DM prevented with medium dose Simo decoction group (DMPM) ; there were eight rats in each group.The rats of DM group and other intervention groups were intraperitoneally injected with 1％ streptozotoein (STZ) to establish the model.The rats of healthy control group were injected with solvent.At eight weeks after the model successfully established,the rats of each intervention group were gavaged with low dose of Simo decoction (0.15 ml · kg-1 · d-1 ),medium dose of Simo decoction (1.5 ml · kg-1 · d-1 ) and high dose of Simo decoction (3.0 ml · kg-1 ·d-1 ) for two weeks; the rats of control group and DM groups were gavaged with equal volume of 0.9％NaCl.The rats of DM-PM group were gavaged with Simo decoction at 1.5 ml · kg-1 · d-1 for 10 weeks after the model successfully established.Rats were sacrificed at the end of drug intervention and gastric antrum tissues were dissociated for detecting the expression of ghrelin and CGRP by real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The data were analyzed by one way ANOVA and t test.Results There was no significant difference in ghrelin expression at mRNA level in gastric antrum tissues between diabetic rats and control group.However after intervened by low dose and medium dose of Simo decoction,the ghrelin expression increased (1.45 ± 0.34,1.87 ± 0.68 compared with 0.87 ±0.28,Dunnett's T3 test,P＜0.05).There was no effects of high dose Simo decoction on the expression of ghrelin in diabetic rats.There was no significant difference in ghrelin between DM-TM and DM-PM.The expression of CGRP at mRNA level in gastric antrum tissues of diabetic rats was significantly higher than that of control group (4.61 ± 1.67 compared with 1.06 ± 0.40,t =5.843,P＜0.01).There was no effects of low dose Simo decoction on CGRP expression of diabetic rats.The expression of CGRP of diabetic rats was down-regulated by medium and high dose of Simo decoction intervention.There was no significant difference in CGRP expression between DM-TM and DM-PM.Conclusions Simo decoction can promote ghrelin expression in gastric antrum of diabetic rats.The expression of CGRP in gastric antrum of diabetic rats significantly increased,but Simo decoction may down-regulate the expression of CGRP in gastric antrum of diabetic rats.

It is well established that different sites within a protein evolve at different rates according to their role within the protein; identification of these correlated mutations can aid in tasks such as ab initio protein structure,structure function analysis or sequence alignment.Mutual Information is a standard measure for coevolution between two sites but its application is limited by signal to noise ratio.In this work we report a preliminary study to investigate whether larger sequence sets could circumvent this problem by calculating mutual information arrays for two sets of drug naive sequences from the HIV gp120 protein for the B and C subtypes.Our results suggest that while the larger sequences sets can improve the signal to noise ratio,the gain is offset by the high mutation rate of the HIV virus which makes it more difficult to achieve consistent alignments.Nevertheless,we were able to predict a number of coevolving sites that were supported by previous experimental studies as well as a region close to the C terminal of the protein that was highly variable in the C subtype but highly conserved in the B subtype.

Objective To investigate clinical features of microscopic colitis (MC) in the elderly and short-term effect of mesalamine on MC.Methods Totally 116 elderly patients with MC in our hospital were recruited from January 2011 to December 2011.Clinical manifestations,use of MC related drugs (MCRDs),pathological classifications and short-term effect of mesalazine were collected and analyzed.Results MC patients accounted for 27.6 ％ in elderly patients with chronic diarrhea,who presented with mild to middle watery or mucous stool,and only 1.7％ of MC patients accompanied with severe stomach pain.Collagenous colitis (CC) and lymphocytic enteritis (LC) accounted for 31.9％ and 68.1％,respectively in MC patients and 50％ of them had MCRDs taking history.There was a significant difference in short-term effective rate between CC group and LC group at 4 weeks after mesalazine treatment (64.9％ vs.84.8％,x2 =5.929,P=0.015).The effective rate was significantly related with the relief of pathology in LC group (x2 =5.896,P=0.015).The relapse rate had no significant difference between CC group and LC group at 8 weeks after withdrawal of mesalazine treatment (45.8％ vs.34.3 ％,P =0.317).Conclusions MC may be one of the main reasons leading to chronic diarrhea in the elderly.Mesalazine has a better effect for the short-term treatment of MC in the elderly,but the long-term maintenance therapy still needs further study.

Objective:To analyze normal pure tone hearing thresholds patients with aural fullness using evoked otoacoustic emission in order to detect the early cochlear impairment. Method: Forty-three normal pure tone hearing thresholds patients(72 ears,aural fullness group)with aural fullness were served as subjects and 30 normal volunteers(60 ears,control group)as controls. Transiently evoked otoacoustic emission (TEOAE) and distortion product evoked otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) were tested with Capella otoacoustic emission machine.The DPOAE detection rate and amplitudes at all frequencies,the passing rate and wave signal noise ratio (SNR), wave reproducibility,band SNR and band reproducibility of TEOAE were recorded and analyzed.Result:①Only on the frequency points of 0. 50 kHz and 0. 75 kHz,the detection rate of DPOAE in aural fullness group was lower than that in control group(P＜0. 05). There was no significant difference in the rate among other frequency points(P＞0. 05). ②The passing rate of TEOAE was 100% in control group and 90.28% in aural fullness group.There were statistical differences between two groups(X~2=6. 16, P＜0. 05).③Compared with the control group,the DPOAE amplitudes at all frequencies,the wave signal noise ratio(SNR), wave reproducibility,band SNR and band reproducibility of TEOAE in patients with aural fullness were significantly decreased.There were statistical differences(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01). Conclusion:Some patients of normal hearing thresholds with aural fullness have had early harm of outer hair cell in cochlear.TEOAE and DPOAE may be used to detect these lesions early before the hearing impairment occurred.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of melformin sustained release tablets in treatment of patients with abnormal glucose tolerance. Methods 78 cases with abnormal glucose tolerances were selected and divided into two groups. Patients in treatment group took melformin sustained release tablets, while patients in control group took normal therapy. The impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and body mass index (BMI) were observed and compared. Results The blood glucose level of OGTT 2 h in treatment group was (7.61±1.04)mmol/L, while it was only (9.96±1.08) mmol/L in control group. The BMI of treatment group was 23.71±3.41, while it was 29.53±3.72 in control group. The glycosylated hemoglobin was (5.79±0.41)%, while it was (6.23±0.52)%in control group. The fasting blood glucose in treatment group was (5.34±0.39)mmol/L and in control group was (8.16±0.48)mmol/L. The differences of those indicators between two groups were signiifcant. Conclusion Melformin gains excellent clinical effects in treating patients with abnormal glucose tolerance. It can adjust blood glucose, improve glucose tolerance, and decrease blood glucose level of OGTT 2 h and BMI effectively.

Objective:To establish the bacterial endotoxin test method and the abnormal toxicity test method for reduced glutathi -one for injection.Methods:According to the requirements and methods in Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2015 edition, part IV), the bacte-rial endotoxin test and the abnormal toxicity test for reduced glutathione were studied .Results:The limit of bacterial endotoxin for re-duced glutathione was 0.125 EU· mg-1 , and the limit of abnormal toxicity was 1.0 g· kg-1 .Conclusion: The bacterial endotoxin test method and the abnormal toxicity test method are feasible .The abnormal toxicity should be supplemented in the quality standard for reduced glutathione , and the bacterial endotoxin test can replace the pyrogen test .
