Along with the progressing of micro-electronics technology and the improving of FPGA's performance, it's more and more common to process digital signals using FPGA. In most cases, FPGA is used to do the preprocessing or postprocessing besides processor in order to get a higher processing speed. This article introduces how to construct the signal processing unit of Doppler measurement system with FPGA and universal digital signal processor.

3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMGR) is the first rate-limiting enzyme for sesquiterpene synthesis in the mevalonate (MVA) pathway. The specific primers were designed according to the transcript sequence of AsHMGR2 from the Aquilaria sinensis (Lour.) Gilg transcriptome database. The full-length cDNA of AsHMGR2 was cloned by RT-PCR and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) technology, and was analyzed at bioinformatics levels; AsHMGR2 expression profiles in different tissues and in responds to different treatments were analyzed by real-time PCR. The length of AsHMGR2 Open Reading Frame (ORF) was 1 749 bp, encoding 582 amino acids. The GenBank accession number is KC140287. Tissue expression analysis indicated that AsHMGR2 was mainly expressed in root and shoot tips, followed by stem, and was lowest in leaves. Inducible-experiments showed that the genes were induced by mechanical wound as well as chemical liquid induction, and reached the highest expression level at 6 h and 8 h, separately. The full-length cDNA of AsHMGR2 and its expression patterns will provide a foundation for further research on its function in agarwood sesquiterpene biosynthesis.

Background5-Nitro-2-(3-styrene-acrylic amine) benzoic acid ( NPPB),a chloride channel inhibitor,has a promoting effect on cell apoptosis in myocardial ischemia and reperfusion of domestic rabbit.The CIC chloride channel has been found in the ocular trabecular cells.However,the effect of NPPB on the shape and function of trabecular cells is unclear. Objective This study was performed to investigate the effect of NPPB on the proliferation,cell cycle progression and apoptosis of human trabecular meshwork cells.MethodsThe immortalized human trabcular cell strain was cultured,and logarithmic-phase cells were incubated in 96-well plates at a density of 1 ×106/ml.Different concentrations of NPPB (10,50,100 μ mol/L) were added to the medium,and the MTT assay was used to assess the growth and proliferation of the cells.Flow cytometry was used to evaluate the cell cycle.Then,100 mg/L 5-FU or 100 mg/L 5-FU + 100 μmol/L NPPB was used to induce cell apoptosis,which was assessed by Annexin V-PI.The membrane potential of mitochondria was examined using rhodamine 123 (△ψm).Results After 48 hours of treatment with NPPB,the abosorbency (A value) of the cells was gradually lowered with the increasing dose of NPPB,with significant differences among the 4 groups (F =7.230,P =0.006).Compared with the 10 μmol/L NPPB group,the A values were significantly declined in the 50 and 100 μmol/L NPPB groups (t =1.610,P =0.025 ;t =12.270,P =0.001 ).Forty-eight hours after exposure to NPPB,the percentage of cells in G0/G1 phase was increased and that in the S phase was decreased.The percentages of cells in different phases of cell cycle were significantly different in comparison with their control groups (without NPPB)( P＜0.05 ).Twenty-four and 48 hours after the treatment with 100 mg/L 5-FU,the apoptosis rates of the cells were raised in the 100 mg/L 5-FU group and 100 mg/L 5-FU + 100 μmol/L NPPB group compared to the without NPPB group (t24h =2.130,P =0.023;t48h =4.810,P=0.011 ) ;while that in the 100 mg/L 5-FU+100 μmol/L NPPB group was higher than the 100 mg/L 5-FU group ( t24 h =1.980,P =0.037 ; t48 h =1.290,P =0.028 ),and the mitochondrial membrane potential was lowered ( t24h =1.580,P =0.029 ; F48 h =6.200,P =0.015 ).Conclusions NPPB suppresses the proliferation of human trabecular cells and promotes the cells to enter S phase via the G1/S check point.In addition,ClC might be involved in an anti-apoptosis mechanism through the internal mitochondrial pathway.

AlM:To determine the changes of regional macular retinal thickness ( RT ) with spectral domain optical coherence tomography ( SD-OCT ) after successful pars plana vitrectomy ( PPV ) surgery with inner limiting membrane ( lLM ) peeling in patients with idiopathic macular hole.
METHODS:A non-randomized retrospective case study on 17 patients ( 17 eyes ) who were hospitalized between March 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013. All 17 eyes had been diagnosed with idiopathic macular hole and thereafter underwent 25G-PPV surgeries performed by the same surgeon with lLM peeling and short - term gas tamponade. ln the 6mo-plus follow-up after surgery, these eyes were found to have successful closure in the macular hole. The macular RT of the nine areas in the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study was measured by SD-OCT. All patients were applied by SD-OCT with linear scan of the macular. At least four examinations on the operated eye were conducted in contrast to the other normal eye: before the surgery, 3~5wk after the surgery (stage A), 2~3mo after the surgery (stage B), and >6mo after the surgery (stage C).
RESULTS:ln stage A, the macular RT of operated eyes in the areas of C, lS, ll, lN, OS, Ol, ON (263. 00±39. 48, 313. 92±18. 35, 311. 00±18. 02, 335. 67±19. 91, 280. 83±33. 74, 269. 92 ± 23. 32, 307. 00 ± 28. 40 ) were significantly thicker than the corresponding areas of the normal fellow eyes (220. 51 ± 23. 94, 292. 08 ± 21. 93, 282. 50 ± 20. 30, 288. 33 ± 20. 76, 251. 25±17. 60, 247. 75±21. 48, 265. 17±24. 76ü m) (P<0. 01) with the exception of the lT (291. 58±18. 97, 280. 33± 20.82üm) and OT (250.83±21.21, 242.08±24.02üm) (P>0. 01). ln Stage B, the macular RT in the areas of ll, lN, OS (335.67±19.20,319.75±19.20, 273.50±16.89üm) were significantly thicker than the corresponding areas of the normal fellow eyes (286. 33±20. 46, 293. 42±17. 64, 252. 50± 16.32üm) (P<0. 01). However, the macular RT of the operated eyes in the areas of C, lS, lT, Ol and OT had no statistically significant difference compared with the corresponding areas of the normal fellow eyes (P> 0. 01). ln Stage C, the macular RT of operated eyes with the areas of lN (321. 17 ± 19. 71ü m) were significantly thicker than the corresponding areas of the normal fellow eyes (296.25±19.57üm) (P<0.01). Meanwhile the other areas of the operated eyes were not significantly different from the normal fellow eyes (P>0. 01). Moreover, the macular RT of operated eyes in the areas of ON, lT (307. 00±28. 40, 291. 58 ± 18. 97ü m ) in stage A significantly decreased compared to that of the corresponding areas in stage C (276. 08±32. 39, 278. 75±10. 19ü m) (P<0. 01).
CONCLUSlON: SD-OCT is a convenient tool for the observation of macular regional changes after macular hole surgery. Macular RT had persistent changes after vitrectomy on eyes with macular hole by SD-OCT. lLM peeling may have caused microstructural changes in wide areas of the macular region after PPV surgery. More support and evidence were provided to the further study of the long - term observation for the structural and function of macular after macular hole surgery.

Objecfive To explore the value of endoscopic uhrasonography(EUS)in diagnosis and preoperative assessment of esophageal cancer.Methods A total of 57 patients with esophageal cancer were examined by EUS.The image features,depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis obtained by EUS were analyzed and compared with postoperative outcomes.Results Esophageal cancer was characterized as an irregular hypoeehoic mass with partial or total destruction of normal esophageal wall structure under EUS.Compared with post-operative pathological findings,the consistent rates of EUS diagnosis in depth of invasion,T staging,and N staging were 84.2%(48/57),87.7%(50/57)and 84.2%(48/57),respectively.Conclusion EUS exhibited high diagnostic accuracy in T staging of esophageal cancer,which is valuable in managements and prognosis of esophageal cancer.

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) in the treatment of sacrococcygeal decubitus ulcers grade Ⅲ with direct polymerizing suture after appling rhEGF to reinforce wound bed preparation (WBP). Methods From January 2007 to October 2009, 60 patients with sacrococcygeal decubitus ulcers Grade Ⅲ, were divided into control group and treatment group. The ulcer size was 3 cm × 4 cm to 10 cm × 12 cm and all ulcers were infected for 15-70 d. Treatment group received traditional dressing change and appling rhEGF to reinforce wound bed preparation. Control group received traditional dressing change only. The operative technique that we used in two groups was direct polymerizing suture. Cure rate of stage Ⅰ and complication morbidities were analyzed. Results Cure rate of stage Ⅰ was 87% in treatment group and 70% in control group. Complication morbidities were 13% in treatment group and 30% in control group. The difference between these two groups was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Appling rhEGF to reinforce wound bed preparation before operation could make subsequent treatment more effective and improve the cure ratio of operation with decreasing complications and morbidities. And more, dissecting under fascia possesses the advantages of easiness to perform and rich blood supply.The method of appling rhEGF with direct polymerizing suture is a simple, high efficient approach for the first repairment of sacrococcygeal decubitus ulcers grade Ⅲ, especially desirable for the elderly.

Objective To determine the correlation between Smad4 mRNA,protein expression,abnormal methylation of CpG islands of Smad4 and colorectal cancer.Methods The expression of Smad4 in 43 cases of colorectal cancer and its adjacent tissue.30 cases of colorectal adenoma and 12 normal colon mucosa were analyzed by RT-PCR,sequencing,semi-quantitative RT-PCR,methylation-specific PCR(MSP)and immunohistochemistry.Results The mRNA expression of Smad4 was detected in 25 cases of colorectal cancer(58.14%),with expression levels at 0.73±0.25,which was significantly lower than those in corresponding adjacent tissues(88.37%,0.95±0.29),eolorectal adenoma(90.63%,1.01±0.37)and normal mucosa(100.00%,1.18 ±0.33)(P＜0.05).The positive rates of Smad4 gone promoter methylation in colorectal caner(60.53%)was significantly higher than that in other tissues(27.03%,25.00%and 16.67%,respectively,P＜0.05).The expression of Smad4 protein was significantly lower in colorectal cancer(44.19%)than that in other tissues(81.40%,87.50%,91.67%,respectively,P＜0.05),which was correlated with tumor invasion and lymph node metastasis.Conclusion Down-regulation of Smad4 expression may be associated with the development,the biological behavior and prognosis of colorectal cancer,and it can be an important biological marker in evaluation of disease progression.

Objective To translate the Personal Diabetes Questionnaire(PDQ),and test the relia bility and validity of the Chinese version of PDQ.Methods Through forward translation,back translation,cultural adjustment,etc.,the Personal Diabetes Questionnaire (PDQ) was introduced to localize it.60 eligible patients with diabetes were selected in a tertiary hospital to make a preliminary investigation.The results were statistically analyzed in order to assess the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of PDQ.Results The Chinese version of PDQ had good reliability,whose total internal consistency coefficient was 0.831 and test-retest reliability was 0.801.The questionnaire has good validity.Total Content Validity Index was 0.938.I-CVI was between 0.800 and 1.000.The questionnaire's dimensions had good parallel validity with glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) and body mass index (BMI).Conclusions The Chinese Version of the personal diabetes questionnaire has good reliability and validity,which can be widely used as the evaluation tool of diabetes self-management education.

Objective To probe into the content of DNA Topo Ⅱ in osteosarcoma after chemotherapy.Methods 30 patients with osteosarcoma received two courses of chemotherapy treatment before the surgical resection of the tumor tissue.Then immunohistochemistry was used to detect the content of Topo Ⅱ in tissues and detected its relationship in pathology.Results There were 8 out of 30 cases in which Topo Ⅱ was presented positive in osteosarcoma (26.7 ％).The protein content of Topo Ⅱ was unrelated to the patient' s age,gender,degree of tumor malignancy,tumor location and translocation or Enneking staging (P ＞ 0.05),but related to patients survival rate (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Patients with lower expression of Topo Ⅱ are more likely to have poor prognosis.
