1.Preliminary Study on Bone Healing Promotion Mechanism of Jiegu Pastes in Fracture Rats

Objective:To explore the relationship between Jiegu pastes and blood biochemical indices and the expression of cal-catonin gene related peptide( CGRP) in the process of fracture healing. Methods: The tibial fracture model of rats was established, and the rats were randomly divided into five groups:the blank control group, model control group, positive control group, Jiegu paste at low dose group ( L, 1 g·ml-1 , calculated by raw materials) and at high dose group ( H, 2 g·ml-1 , calculated by raw materials) with 60 ones in each. The blank control group and the model control group were given 2 ml saline, the positive control group was given 2 ml concentrated dipsacus bone mixture, and Jiegu paste L group and H group was given 2 ml concentrated solution at low concentra-tion and high concentration, respectively, and all the groups were with the following regimen: ig,qd, for 28 days. The blood samples and callus specimens were obtained on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th day after fracture. Blood biochemical indices were detected, and HE staining and immunohistochemical staining were performed. Results: Compared with those in the model control group, the serum calcium and phosphorus ion concentration in Jiegu paste H group significantly increased on the 14th and 21st day, and the serum AKP significantly increased on the 14th and 28th day (P<0. 05). The expression of CGRP in Jiegu paste H group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0. 05). There were no significant differences between H group and the positive control group (P>0. 05). Conclusion:Jiegu paste can achieve the purpose of promoting fracture healing by improving the activity of serum AKP, in-creasing the concentration of calcium and phosphorus and regulating the activity of neuropeptide CGRP.

This review describes the major species,number,breeding pattern,ratio of fenced to freely grazed goat,suscepti?bility to Schistosoma japonicum,pattern of S. japonicum infection,infection rate,intensity of infection,fecal contamination of goat that were bred in 5 marshland and lake provinces of Hunan,Hubei,Jiangxi,Anhui and Jiangsu,and two mountainous provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan,and demonstrates the associations of infected goat distribution with the distribution of infect?ed Oncomelania hupensis snails and humans. Considering the huge number of goat which were predominantly grazed freely in marshland and lake endemic regions of China,the high infection rate,numerous environmental pollution by goat feces,as well as the close correlation between the infected goat distribution and infected snail distribution,goat is considered as a major infec?tious source for schistosomiasis japonica in China,and to play a critical role in the transmission of the disease. Since the control of schistosomiasis in animals is critical to schistosomiasis interruption and elimination,it is suggested that the integrated man?agement of goat schistosomiasis should be included in the national schistosomiasis control program of China.

8.Investigation on curative effect of Tiaojingcuyun Pill matching clomophene for sterility

Objective:To study the effective treatment method for sterility. Methods: 126 cases with sterility were divided into three groups at random. 42 cases were in group A treated with Tiaojingcuyun pill, 38 cases group B were treated with clomophene as the control groups, and 46 cases were in group C with Tiaojingcuyun pill matching clomophene as the study group. Results: During 138 treatment periods 22 cases in group C got pregnancy. the rate of pregnancy was 47.83%. As compared with group A and group B, the rate of pregnancy increased obviously. 9.Astrocyte proliferation in the rat hippocampus after middle cerebral artery occlusion

AIM: To study rat astrocyte proliferation in ipsilateral hippocampus following focal cerebral ischemia. METHODS: Ischemia was induced by temporary middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). In hippocampus of rats at 3, 7 and 30 days after MCAO, the numbers and anatomic distribution of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) were detected by immunohistochemistry. The protein expression of GFAP and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in the ipsilateral hippocampus were analyzed by Western blot analysis. RESULTS: Astrocytes appeared hypertrophic, with increased process thickness and numbers at 7 days after MCAO, and the highest density of astrocytes were seen at 30 days in the CA1, CA2 regions of the ipsilateral hippocampus. Western blot analysis revealed that GFAP levels were normal at 3 days, but increased by 7 days and remained elevation at 30 days. Western blot analysis of PCNA protein also revealed identified upregulation PCNA at 3 days after MCAO and the expression peaked at 7 days. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that focal cerebral ischemia in the rat results in a rapid response, a process often referred to as reactive astrogliosis or glial scarring, from resident astrocytes of the ipsilateral hippocampus to the side of ischemia.
