Objective To explore the clinical features of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) combined with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) and cerebral thrombosis in a child. Method The clinical data of SLE combined with APS and cerebral thrombosis in a child was retrospectively analyzed, and the related literature was reviewed. Results This was a 12-year-old boy. The disease onset with recurrent fever, confusion and rash in cheek. He had anemia and thrombocytopenia, and positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) and anticardiolipin antibody (aCL). Magnetic resonance imaging showed multiple cerebral infarction. The diagnosis of SLE combined with APS and cerebral thrombosis was clearly made. Methylprednisolone, cyclophosphamide, warfarin, meropenem and acyclovir were used for the treatment. At the same time, the patient also received intravenous immunoglobulin. Conclusion SLE combined with APS and cerebral thrombosis in children was usually in a severe condition, the prognosis of which can be effectively improve by early diagnosis and reasonable treatment.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular point electroacupuncture and its effect on the quality of life (QOL).Method Ninety-eight patients with post-stroke depression were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 49 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture plus auricular point electroacupuncture, while the control group was by oral administration of Fluoxetine hydrochloride. The Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Side-effect Rating Scale (SERS), and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire-Brief Version (WHOQOL-BREF) were observed before and after intervention, and the clinical efficacies were also compared.Result The total effective rate was 89.1% in the treatment group versus 87.0% in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically insignificant (P>0.05). Respectively after 2-week, 4-week, and 8-week treatment, the HAMD scores were significantly different from that before intervention in the treatment group (P<0.05). Respectively after 2-week, 4-week, and 8-week treatment, the HAMD scores were significantly different from that before intervention in the control group (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in comparing the HAMD scores between the two groups after 2-week, 4-week, and 8-week treatment (P>0.05). The SERS scores in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group after 4-week and 8-week treatment (P<0.05). In the treatment group, the SERS score after 8-week treatment was significantly different from that after 4-week treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of general health domain 1 and 4, physical health domain, psychological health domain, and environment domain from WHOQOL-BREF were significantly changed in both groups (P<0.05). After intervention, the physical health domain score of the treatment group was significantly different from that of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture plus auricular point electroacupuncture is an effective approach in treating post-stroke depression, and it can improve the quality of life of the patients.

Objective To explore the efficacy of four-step method for transurethral enucleation of the prostate . Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 120 cases of benign prostate hyperplasia ( BPH) treated with four-step method ( traction, enucleation, resection, and repair ) for transurethral plasmakinetic resection of the prostate in our hospital from January 2012 to February 2014. Results The average operation time was (91.4 ±35.3) min.The intraoperative blood loss was 78.8 ±34.1 ml. The resection of the prostate tissue weight was (32.1 ±15.7) g.The postoperative bladder infusion time was (1.5 ±0.5) days.The postoperative indwelling catheter time was 3.5 ±0.8 days.The postoperative hospital stay was (5.5 ±0.5) days.No death, blood transfusion, or TURS happened.Follow-up reviews at 3 months after surgery found postoperative international prostatic symptom score (IPSS) was significantly less than the preoperative level [4.5 ±2.2 vs.24.5 ±5.1, t=39.445, P=0.000], postoperative Qmax was significantly higher than preoperative level [(21.5 ±10.5) ml/s vs.(6.0 ±1.9) ml/s, t =15.912, P =0.000], and postoperative residual urine was significantly less than the preoperative level [(12.0 ±2.0) ml vs.(145.0 ±33.0) ml;t=44.069, P =0.000].No retrograde ejaculation, sexual dysfunction, or dysuria happened. Conclusion The four-step method for transurethral enucleation of the prostate is radical , safe, and simple.

Objective To explore the whole quality control method for lactones and flavonoids in the raw material of Herb Sarcandra.Methods TLC identification of ethyl acetate extracts and spectrophotometry determination of total flavonoids had been conducted.Results Chemical compositions extracted by ethyl acetate and total flavonoids content varied greatly in the raw materials of Herb Sarcandra from different producing areas.Conclusion TLC identification combined with total flavonoids determination can be used for the quality control of the medicinal material of Herb Sarcandra.

Objective To evaluate the manifestations of glenohumeral instability on CT arthrography.Methods 16 cases of glenohumeral instability were examined both by CT arthrography and arthroscopy and to analyze the manifestations on CT arthrography.Results Intraarticular injury included labral tear, capsular stripping or laxity, anterior glenoid fracture and lateral posterior humeral head impacted fracture.Conclusion Shoulder arthrography has good contrast, and because the imaging no overlaps, can clearly show the intraarticular injures. It is a good examine method of glenohumeral instability.

Objective:To evaluate the role of using the double body position CT(DBP-CT)in the staging of advanced gastric cancer.Methods:We performed CT examination in 85 patients with advanced gastric cancer which were divided into the double postion group(55 cases)and the single position group(30 cases),after oral intake water agent.The preoperative CT findings of each group was compared with surgical findings respectively and the accuracy in the CT staging of advanced gastric cancer of each group was estimated.Results:The accuracy in the preoperative CT staging of double position group was 89.09%,and in single postition group was 60%.There was a significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Our findings show that the DBP-CT is surperior to the single position group in finding lesion,confineing the range of the tumour,and determing the degree of adjacent invasion.It can improve the diagnostic accuracy in the preoperative staging of advanced gastric cancers significantly.

Objective A survey was conducted to learn the status of award winning for science and technology achievement among the medical institutions ranked level 2 and above in Sichuan province,to learn the research capacity in such medical institutions,and to provide the basis for research management and health decision.Methods Questionnaire survey was carried out among 555 hospitals ranked level 2 and above in Sichuan province,information on award winning for science and technology achievement during 2010 -2012 was collected and analyzed.Results Only 33％ of those medical institutions were awarded for their achievement in research with total number of 882 awards in three years:300,266,and 316 awards were obtained in 2010,2011 and 2012,respectively.Conclusions In the medical organization of Sichuan province,the number of awards of scientific and technological achievements showed no significant increase with an volatility state,and the overall level of award need to be improved.Awarded Research areas were mainly on clinical research-based,especially on surgery department.Most award winning hospitals are level 3,and the general hospitals win more award than specialized hospitals;furthermore,hospitals located in different regions are quite different in terms of award winning.

Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a hereditary disease characterized by the progressive loss of photoreceptor cells. Disease pathology primarily affects rod photoreceptor cells first but light-insensitive cone photoreceptor bodies can survivor longer. Delivered by adeno-associated viral vector or lentiviral vector, expression of microbial-type rhodopsin, channelrhodopsin-2 or archaebacterial halorhodopsin in the survived retinal cells can substitute for the native phototransduction cascade in mouse models of retinitis pigmentosa. It can also restore light sensitivity and activate all retinal cone pathways and drive sophisticated retinal circuit functions. Thus, expression of channelrhodopsins or halorhodopsin might be a potential strategy for the restoration vision of patients with RP.
