5.Research progress of the roles of Polo-like kinase 1 in cell mitosis
Cancer Research and Clinic 2014;26(7):494-497
Polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1) is a serine/threonine kinase that is widely expressed in eukaryotic cells and a key regulator of the cell mitosis.During different stages of mitosis, the locations of Plk1 in cells are different, and can interaction with different substrates, thus it has many biological functions. This article focuses on the functions of Plk1 in different mitotic stages.
6.Reinfusion of autologous drainage blood after total hip replacement under the application of anticoagulant
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(44):7066-7070
BACKGROUND:Reinfusion of autologous drainage blood could reduce al ogeneic blood demand after total hip replacement. The application of anticoagulant could ensure the safety of peri-operation period after total hip replacement.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the application effect of reinfusion of autologous drainage blood after total hip replacement in patients taking anticoagulant.
METHODS:100 patients underwent initial unilateral total hip replacement in the Weifang People’s Hospital in China from January 2012 to January 2014. According to reinfusion of autologous drainage blood, the patients were divided into observation group and control group (n=50).
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After replacement, total blood volume and the maximum mid-thigh circumference change were significantly larger in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). No significant difference in hidden blood loss was detected between the two groups (P>0.05). Results indicated that under the application of anticoagulant, reinfusion of autologous drainage blood in patients undergoing total hip replacement does not affect hidden blood loss, but can cause an increase in limb swel ing.
7.T-type calcium channels and tumor proliferation
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(7):498-500
Expression of the T-type Ca2 + channels has been reported in numerous types of tumors due to their unique activation/inactivation properties. In some cancer cells, the expression of T-type Ca2+ channels is proliferation state dependent. T-type channel blockers or interfering the α1 subunit of this channel via siRNA decrease proliferation of these cells. Since T-type Ca2+ channels are not expressed in epithelial cells, selective T-type Ca2 + channel blockers maybe serve as a potential therapeutic approach in the treatment of certain types of cancers.
