OBJECTIVETo study clinical effects of inversive LISS (less invasive stabilization system, LISS) plate combined with steel wire for the treatment of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures.

METHODSFrom January 2009 to Janurary 2012, 11 patients with Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures were treated with inversive LISS plate combined with steel wire, including 8 males and 3 females, ranging in age from 35 to 61 years old (averaged, 51 years old). Causes of injury: 8 patients caused by accident and 3 patients caused by falling down. According to X-ray examination, all the patients were type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures and were treated with LISS plate combined with steel wire. Merle d'Aubigne scores were used to evaluate therapeutic effects on hip.

RESULTSThe mean period of follow-up was 16 months (ranged, 12 to 28 months). All the patients obtained bone union for average 3.8 months (ranged from 3 to 4.3 months). There were no complications such as deep infection,deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and bone nonunion. According to Merle d'Aubigne scores, 7 patients got an excellent result and 4 good.

CONCLUSIONInversive LISS plate combined with steel wire for the treatment of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures is satisfactory, Which can provide stable fixation for fracture end and provide an ideal internal fixation method for treatment of this kind of fractures in the future.

microRNAs (miRNAs) are a recently discovered family of small non-coding RNAs, which exist in eukaryotes and regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by binding to complementary sites on target mRNAs. MiRNAs play important roles in regulation of cell proliferation, development, apoptosis and cell differentiation. It’s predicted that about 1% human known genes encode microRNAs and microRNAs may regulate 10～30%of the genes in the human genome. The paper focus on the knowledge about how to recognize miRNAs and identify their target mRNAs.

Objective To evaluate the method and curative effect of reconstruction with vascularized or nonvascularized autogenous fibular transplantation of radiocarpal joint after en bloc excision of giant cell tumor of distal radius.Methods Seventeen cases with giant cell tumor of distal radius bone were treated by en bloc resection and reconstruction of wrist joint with vascularized or non-vascularized autogenous fibular transplantation.Postoperative wrist joint function and radiographic outcomes were evaluated.Results Seventeen cases were followed up from 2.0 to 5.5 years (average 3.6 years).Three cases were treated by peroneal artery anastomosis and other 3 cases by inferior lateral genicular artery anastomosis.All cases achieved primary healing of incision and the radial average length that was en bloc excised was 7.6 cm.All of the transplanted fibulas were healed well.The bone healing average time of the vascularized fibular graft was 3.7 months,while that of the non-vascularized fibular graft was 7.9 months.No tumor recurrence or lung metastases was observed during the follow-up,but 1 wrist joint was narrowed and another had degeneration of the wrist.After 2 years of surgery,the average range of motion of the wrist joint was as follows:dorsiflexion 47°,flexion 30°,ulnar deviation 23°,radial deviation 14°,pronation 55°,supination 62°.The grip force was from 40％ to 80％ of the contralateral upper limb.The MSTS score averaged 87.6 ％ with 6 excellent,eight good and 3 satisfactory results.Disabilities of the Arm,Shoulder,and Hand (DASH) questionnaire score averaged 3.48.Conclusion The method of autogenous fibular transplantation and reconstruction of radiocarpal joint after en bloc excision of giant cell tumor of distal radius can save the wrist joint function in a certain extent.It is an effective method of the wrist joint function reconstruction and beneficial to bone healing with vascularized transplantation which has less complications.

Objective To genotype Yersinia pestis and explore intrinsic relationship among different ecotypes of Yersinia pestis in Yunnan foci.Methods A total of 171 strains from three types of Yersinia pestis,house mouse,wild-type mouse and Yulong Yersinia pestis,were tested.Twenty-three different regions (DFR) were used to genotype and cluster analysis was performed using BioNumerics 5.0.Results A total of 171 Yersinia pestis were divided into 7 genotypes by 23 DFRs,which were Genomovar5,Genomovar7,Genomovar9 and 4 newly discovered genotypes.The genotypes of all Yulong plague were Genomovar5.The genotypes of the 16 strains of wild-type mouse plague (the highland of northwestern Yunnan Province type) were divided to 3 genotypes,13 of them were Genomovar 7,2 of them were Genomovar9,and 1 of them was newly discovered genotype Genomovaryn1.The genotypes of the 148 strains of house mouse plague(the residential area of Yunnan and Fujian Provinces type) were divided into 4 genotypes,145 of them were Genomovar9,and 3 of them were newly discovered including Genomovar-yn2,-yn3 and-yn4.The ecological typing results of clustering showed genotype of Yulong plague was similar to the highland of northwestern Yunnan Province type(wild-type mouse plague),and the percentage of similarity was up to 87.20％,but only up to 73.75％ to the residential area of Yunnan and Fujian Provinces type (house mouse plague).The genotypes of 2 wild-type strains of the highland of northwestern Yunnan Province type(wild-type mouse) and main genotypes of the residential area of Yunnan and Fujian Provinces type(house mouse)were Genomovar 9.The genotype of Genomovar-yn 1 of the highland of northwestern Yunnan Province type was similar to Genomovar 7,but lack of DFR 11.The genotypes of Genomovar-yn2,-yn3 and-yn4 of the residential area of Yunnan and Fujian Provinces type were similar to Genomovar 9,but lack of DFR 10,DFR 9 and DFR 11,respectively.Conclusions One newly genotype strain is found in wild-type mouse plague and 3 newly genotype strains are founded in house mouse plague.Wild-type mouse strains are founded in the house mouse strains.The similarity of genotype between Yulong plague and the highland of northwestern Yunnan Province type (wild-type mouse plague) is high while the similarity between Yulong plague and the residential area of Yunnan and Fujian Provinces type(house mouse plague) is low.

In order to improve the metabolism yield of cordycepin and adenosine,we studied nitrogen sources ,the levels of nitrogen sources and carbon sources,dynamic development in liquid culture ,as well as the total yield of cordycepin and adenosine in culture system through determining the contents of cordycepin and adenosine by HPLC .The results are as follows: not only animal protein but also some plant protein is very good nitrogen sources; in culture solution the suitable levels of nitrogen sources and carbon sources is respectively 3% and 4%; the content of adenosine in culture solution is very low, while it is quite high in mycelia; it is much higher that the total yield of cordycepin in culture solution than in mycelia; when the culture system is oscillated and cultured after 7~9 days, the total yield of cordycepin and adenosine are both high.

BACKGROUND:When peri-implantitis occurs, the levels of interleukin-17 in the peri-implant sulcular fluid and soft tissues are significantly increased, and there is a positive correlation with the depth of the peri-implant probing. However, because of the dual effects of bone absorption and protection, the function of interleukin-17 in peri-implantitis remains controversial, which should be further studied. OBJECTIVE:To retrospectively analyze the correlation between peri-implantitis and interleukin-17. METHODS: The first author searched Wanfang, CNKI and Medline databases from 1991 to 2014 by using key words of “dental implants, peri-implantitis, periodontitis, Th17 cels, interleukin-17, cytokines” in Chinese or English. The functions of bone destruction and protection of interleukin-17 in peri-implantitis were reviewed, and interleukin-17 expression and correlation with the peri-implantitis were detected. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 46 articles from 241 articles are selected. The results show that, noninvasive detection of the variation of interleukin-17 levels in peri-implant sulcular fluid or blood is conducive to the monitoring of early diagnosis and treatment of peri-implantitis. At present, most researches show the relationship between interleukin-17 and peri-implantitis, and there is a positive correlation between interleukin-17 and peri-implant probing depth. But other researches suggest that interleukin-17 acts as protector for bones, and there is no statistic significance in the level of interleukin-17 receptor gene in chronic peri-odontitis and healthy subjects. Therefore, the correlation between peri-implantitis and interleukin-17 remains to be further studied.

Objective:To determine the residual formaldehyde fumigation on the surface of pharmaceutical equipments by AHMT method. Methods:The reaction time of AHMT was controlled in 20 min, the solution with sodium periodate was then shaken for 30 seconds and stood for 30 seconds, and then the absorbance at 550 nm was measured. Results: The linear range of formaldehyde was 0. 250~2. 495 μg·ml-1. The recovery of formaldehyde on glass plate, color steel plate and stainless steel plate was (83. 42 ± 1. 48)%(n=3), (83. 63 ± 1. 94)%(n=3)and (83. 94 ± 2. 28)%(n=3), respectively. Conclusion:The method is proved to be convenient and accurate, and is suitable for the determination of formaldehyde on the surface of pharmaceutical equipments.

AIM:To investigate the effects of survivin inhibitor YM155 {4,9-dihydro-1-(2-methoxyethyl)-2-methyl-4,9-dioxo-3-(2-pyrazinylmethyl)-4,9-dihydro-1H-naphtho[2,3-d]imidazolium bromide} on the apoptosis, mito-chondrial membrane potential (Δψm) and cytochrome C (Cyt C) of retinoblastoma Y79 cells, and to analyze the mitochon-drial mechanisms of apoptosis .METHODS:Y79 cells were cultured in vitro and treated with YM155 at concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 8 nmol/L.The cells in control group were treated without YM 155.The proliferation of Y79 cells were measured by CCK-8 assay and bromodeoxyuridine ( BrdU) labeling assay .Y79 cells were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group ( with equal volume of RPMI-1640 nutrient medium ) , positive control group ( 10 nmol/L topotecan ) , low-dose (1 nmol/L) YM155 group and high-dose (2 nmol/L) YM155 group.The effects of YM155 on the apoptosis, the changes of Δψm , the mitochondrial distribution and the protein level of Cyt C in the Y 79 cells were evaluated by flow cytom-etry with Annexin V-FITC/PI staining, JC-1 staining, immunofluorescence analysis and Western blot , respectively.RE-SULTS:Compared with control group , YM155 significantly inhibited the proliferation of Y 79 cells and induced apoptosis (P<0.05).YM155 significantly reduced Δψm of the Y79 cells, promoted Cyt C which released from mitochondria to the cytosol and reduced the protein level of Cyt C in the mitochondria (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:YM155 inhibits Y79 cell proliferation and induces apoptosis , and the possible mechanisms may be involved in the mitochondrium-mediated apoptotic pathway .

Objective: To seek an appropriate diet therapy for Prade-Willi syndrome(PWS) patients.Methods: Four cases of PWS patients were followed up in our hospital during 1997-6 to 2007-6.These patients accepted energy and fat limited diet.The body weight,blood glucose and lipid profile were observed.Results: The reduction of body weight was between 0~6.25% after diet therapy.There was significant improvement of postprandial blood glucose(PBG),HbA1c,total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG) and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-c) in 3 cases with DM and hyperlipemia.Conclusion: The energy and fat limited diet is effective to slow down the increasing of body weight in the PWS patients.It can also improve the metabolic condition of serum lipid and glucose in PWS.
