[Objective]To appraise the clinical effect of acupoint application on cough-asthma.[Method] Choose clinic 144 cases,measure FEV1,PEF and FEV1% after treatment,make statistical analysis,compare the difference of the appraisal indexes between before and after treatment,study the relation among age,sex and TCM syndromes.[Conclusion] After treatment,the symptoms score and lung function were markedly improved.[Conclusion] After treated with Dog-days Paste,the patients’ clinical symptoms were obviously relieved,and the lung functional indexes improved too.

Objective To explore the mechanisms of Artemisia argyi burning and moxibustion photo-thermal effect.Methods N-alkanes were obtained by gradient solvent extraction and silica gel column chromatography elution from 1, 3 and 5 years’ Artemisia argyi produced in QiChun, Hubei and analyzed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS).Results The n-alkane contents of 1, 3 and 5 years’ Artemisia argyi were 318.65, 528.23 and 394.20μg/g, respectively. A total of seventeen kinds of n-alkanes were detected from the Artemisia argyi of three kinds of years. The 31 carbon alkane content was highest in all of them. Because N-alkanes affect the temperature and stability of Artemisia argyi burning, it may be the material basis for explaining “worrying seven years’ diseases seek 3 years’ Artemisia argyi”.

Oncomelania hupensis is the only intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum. The elimination of Oncomelania snails is the key technique step for schistosomiasis control. This paper summarizes the progress of the techniques of snail control，including the methods of ecology engineering，biology，molluscicides and the study on novel molluscicides，and reviews their features. In addition，this paper explores the appropriate approach to control the snails.

Objective To analyze the effect of conductive education combined with massage on activity of children with severe cerebral palsy. Methods 11 children (7 males and 4 females) with cerebral palsy receiving rehabilitation therapies in CereCare Wellness Centre of Xuhui, Shanghai from April to October 2010 were enrolled in this study. The type of cerebral palsy was as follows: 7 tetraplegia, 1 diplegia,2 athetoid, and 1 dystonia. The average age was 7.47 years, ranging from 4.7～11.9 years. The participants were divided randomly into 2groups. 5 children in group A accepted conductive education and massage therapy in the first 3 months, and then accepted routine rehabilitation therapies in the next 3 months. 6 children in group B accepted routine rehabilitation therapies in the first 3 months, and then accepted conductive education and massage therapy in the next 3 months. The phase of conductive education combined with massage was called intervention period, and the phase of routine rehabilitation therapies was called contrast period. The gross motor function was assessed with Gross Motor Function Measure Scale (GMFM), while the fine motor function was assessed with Fine Motor Function Measure Scale (FMFM).Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI) was used to assess activities of daily living. The different effects between conductive education combined with massage and routine rehabilitation therapies were compared. Results The scores of GMFM and FMFM both increased in intervention period, while both decreased in contrast period. The score of FMFM increased significantly (P<0.05). The scores of PEDI changed without statistical significance. Conclusion Conductive education combined with massage may increase the fine motor function of children with severe cerebral palsy compared with routine rehabilitation therapies.

Objective To investigate whether the monthly distribution of birth was associated with congenital heart disease(CHD).Methods The monthly distribution of birth of 5 070 patients with CHD who accepted examination or treatment from Jan.2003 to Dec.2006 was investigated and compared with that of 6 627 healthy newborn children born in 2001-2006.The statistic analysis was accomplished with SPSS 12.0 software for ?2 test.Results Four hundred and forty-four of the 5 070 patients with CHD were born in January(8.8%),432 cases in February(8.5%),384 cases in March(7.6%),339 cases in April(6.7%),390 cases in May(7.7%),393 cases in June(7.8%),414 cases in July(8.2%),489 cases in August(9.6%),498 cases in September(9.8%),492 cases in October(9.7%),396 cases in November(7.8%),and 399 cases in December(7.8%).The structural ratio of the number of CHD patients were the highest for those who were born in August,September,October,and the lowest among those who were born of February and March,April.The number of CHD patients who were born in the autumnal months of August,September and October was 1 479(29.1%),much higher than those who were born in February,March and April(1 155 cases,22.8%)(P

Objective To compare the effect of Acetate Sodium Potassium Magnesium Calcium and lactate ringers′ as priming solution in pediatrics with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) during congenital heart surgery. Methods Sixty children, aged 1-6 years, weighting 8 to 20 kg, with ASA Ⅱ to Ⅲ class and with ventricular or atrial septal defect elective , received heart surgery with CPB. They were randomly divided into two groups: the lactate ringers′ group (R) and the sodium acetate, potassium, magnesium and calcium glucose injection pre-filled group (L). Levels of artery blood gas, lactic, gluclose, electrolytes were detected at the time points of induction of anesthesia (T1), aortic cross damping (T2), stopping before (T3), and closing chest later (T4). Results Levels of the blood glucose and lactic acid in the two groups post-CPB were increased (P <0.01) at T2 and T3. Lactic acid level in group L was lower than that in group R (P < 0.05), and the blood glucose level in group L was higher than that in group R (P < 0.01). No significant difference was found in the lactic acid and blood glucose post-closing chestbetween the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Sodium, potassium , magnesium , calcium and glucose injection as children CPB priming crystalloid fluid could provide energy substrate, reduce lactic acid concentration, with little effect on electrolyte and blood gas.

Objective To knock out the Abcb1 gene of rat,and establish the Abcb1 humanized rat model based on the Abcb1 knock out rat.Methods The animal model was established using BAC and CRISPR/Cas9 technology,and was analyzed by PCR, RT-PCR and real-time PCR.Results Establishing a rat model expressing human Abcb1 stably by transfer the 153 kb BAC containing human Abcb1 promoter and cDNA into rat genome, and establishing the Abcb1 knock out rat at the same time.Establishing the Abcb1 humanized model by crossing these two strains together.The expression pattern of Abcb1 in Abcb1 humanized rat is different from the wild type rat.The Abcb1 humanized model express not only the human Abcb1 gene but also has similar expression pattern as human.Conclusions The Abcb1 knock out rat and the Abcb1 humanized rat were successfully established, and this model is close to human concerning about the drug metabolism related to Abcb1.

Objective To analyze the influencing factors on hospitalization costs of osteoporosis hip fracture in elderly patients.Methods The hospitalization expenses of patients with osteoporotic hip fracture and influencing factors were analyzed by single factor analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis method in Beijing Ji Shuitan Hospital from 2009 July to 2010 December.Results Among 565 patients who underwent operation treatment,hospitalization costs of femoral neck fracture was (42 127±20 821) yuan,wherein the treatment fee was (27 283± 14 959) yuan,other expenses (expenses for medicine,examination and chemical examination) were (14 844 ± 8717) yuan.The above values of intertrochanteric fracture were (52 965± 15 901) yuan,(36 872±11 763) yuan and (16 093±7793) yuan,respectively.Treatment fee occupied 65％ of hospitalization expenses.Multivariate regression analysis of influencing factors of costs intertrochanteric revealed that femoral neck fractures hip arthroplasty,femoral intertrochanteric fracture,venous thrombosis of the lower extremity,and albumin infusion in perioperative period were correlated firmly with the increased hospitalization expenses and treatment expenses (P＜0.001).Comorbidities such as diabetes and anemia,perioperative complication such as delirium,cardiac disease,pulmonary embolism,pulmonary infection were related to the other higher expenses (P＜0.05).The longer of hospital stay resulted in higher cost of hospitalization (P ＜ 0.001).Conclusions Comorbidities and preoperative complications can increase other expenses.Osteoporotie hip fracture,with a high hospitalization cost,is a heavy economy burden.It is important to emphasize the disease prevention of both osteoporosis and aging chronic illness.

Objective To determine the effect of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) on endothelia cell (EC) proliferation in vitro,TNP-470 and dexamethasone (Dex) and explore the possible mechanisms of FGF stimulating EC proliferation. Methods Cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) was divided into two groups: control group (Group DMEM) and experimental groups (Group FGF,Group Dex,Group TNP-470,Group FGF+Dex,Group FGF+TNP-470). The EC proliferation was quantified by a colorimetric assay using MTT reagent,the relative cell numbers at every time point of EC cycle analyzed with flow cytometer,and the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B p65 (NF-?B p65) and ki-67 detected with immunohistochemical method of SABC. Results FGF stimulated significantly EC proliferation,raised proliferation index (PI) and enhanced the expressions of NF-?B p65 and ki-67 in nuclear. TNP-470 reduced PI and TNP-470 and Dex suppressed EC proliferation and finally decreased the expressions of NF-?B p65 and ki-67 in nuclear. FGF could facilitate the inhibitory effect of TNP-470 and Dex. Conclusions The possible mechanism of EC proliferation stimulated by FGF is that FGF can activate NF-?B to promote the synthesis of DNA and EC mitosis. TNP-470 and Dex suppress proliferation and differentiation of EC but FGF may reverse such suppressive effect.
