Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(4):544-547
Objective:
To analyze the relationship between parental psychological control and Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) among junior high school students, so as to provide evidence for preventing IGD development in adolescents.
Methods:
From August 2019 to February 2020, a survey was conducted among 1 169 junior high school students from three middle schools in Xian using stratified cluster sampling. The Parental Psychological Control Scale and IGD Scale were administered to assess parental psychological control and IGD prevalence. Univariate and binary Logistic regression analyses were used to explore IGD risk factors and their correlation with parental psychological control.
Results:
The detection rate of IGD in middle school students was 19.9%(184/1 169). Multivariate Logistic regression revealed that compared to those with lower parental psychological control scores(≤21 points), students with higher parental psychological control scores (>21 points) had a higher risk of IGD (OR=1.82, 95%CI=1.21-2.74), a 1.58fold higher risk of selfperceived gaming addiction (95%CI=1.07-2.30), as well as reduced likelihood of seeking external help to reduce gaming time (OR=0.66, 95%CI=0.47-0.94) (P<0.05).
Conclusions
Parental psychological control may elevate the risks of IGD and selfperceived addiction while diminishing proactive helpseeking behaviors to reduce gaming time. Parents should enhance communication with adolescents and provide positive guidance to mitigate potential gamingrelated harms.
2.Trends in disease burden due to childhood asthma from 1990 to 2021 and future projections in China
Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(4):573-578
Objective:
To investigate the trends in disease burden due to childhood asthma in China from 1990 to 2021 and to project the disease burden from 2022 to 2035, so as to provide insights into formulation of the control interventions for childhood asthma in China.
Methods:
The prevalent case, agestandard prevalence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and agestandard DALYs rate of children with asthma at ages of 0 to 14 years and their 95% uncertainty interval (UI) in China from 1990 to 2021 were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database. The temporal trends in the disease burden of childhood asthma were evaluated with estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) and its 95% confidence interval (CI), and the disease burden due to asthma was projected among children at ages of 0 to 14 years in China using a Bayesian age-period-cohort (BAPC) model from 2022 to 2035.
Results:
There were 9.368 3 million (95%UI=6.410 7 million to 14.026 1 million) prevalent cases of asthma among children at ages of 0 to 14 years in China in 2021, contributing to 0.387 9 million (95%UI=0.216 1 million to 0.668 8 million) DALYs loss. The prevalent cases and DALYs of asthma decreased by 37.28% and 52.55% among children at ages of 0 to 14 years in China in 2021 compared with 1990, and the agestandardized prevalence [EAPC=-0.70%, 95%CI=-1.26% to -0.13%)] and DALY rates [EAPC=-1.71%, 95%CI=-2.32% to -1.10%)] also appeared a tendency towards a decline. From 1990 to 2021, the prevalent cases, prevalence, DALYs and DALYs rate of asthma were all higher among male children than among female children, and the disease burden of asthma was higher among children at ages of 5 to 9 years than at other age groups. BAPC model predicted a decline in both prevalent cases and DALYs of asthma among children at ages of 0 to 14 years in China from 2022 to 2035, with 6.759 6 million prevalent cases and DALYs of 0.228 4 million personyears in 2035, while the prevalence and DALYs rates were projected to rise to 5 143.35/105 and 173.75/105 in 2035.
Conclusions
Despite a reduction in the disease burden of asthma among children at ages of 0 to 14 years in China from 1990 to 2021, the prevalence remained high. The disease burden due to asthma is projected to appear a decline among children at ages of 0 to 14 years in China from 2022 to 2035; however, the prevalence and DALYs rates still rise. Intensified control measures and targeted interventions are required to reduce the disease burden of childhood asthma.

ObjectiveTo investigate and analyze an outbreak of rotavirus infectious diarrhea in a prison in Chongqing Municipality, to provide a basis for adult rotavirus surveillance and prevention, and to explore the public health problems in special settings. MethodsA retrospective survey was conducted to collect and analyze data on individual cases with diarrheal disease on-site. The clinical characteristics, as well as the temporal, spatial and geographical distribution patterns of the epidemic were described. Multi-pathogen detection tests were conducted both on diarrhea cases and environmental samples, with viral genotyping performed on positive samples. A case-control analysis was performed to identify the causes of the outbreak, and an SEIR model was adopted to predict the outbreak trend and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. ResultsA total of 65 cases were found among the inmates, with an attack rate of 2.03%. The predominant clinical manifestations included diarrhea (89.23%), watery stool (73.85%), and dehydration (18.46%). The epidemic curve indicated a “human-to-human” transmission pattern, with an average incubation period of 5‒6 days. The attack rates among chefs in the main canteen (80.00%, 8/10) and caterers (28.33%, 17/60) were significantly higher than those of other inmates (P<0.05). Multi-pathogen polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing detected positive for group A rotavirus, with the viral genotyping identified as G9P [8] strain. Factors such as unprotected "bare-handed" food distribution among cases with diarrhea (OR=9.512, 95%CI: 4.261‒21.234) and close contact with diarrhea cases (OR=3.656, 95%CI: 1.719‒7.778) were the possible cause of the outbreak. The SEIR model (r0=5, α=0.3, β1=0.08, β2=0.04) was constructed using prison inmates as susceptible population, aiming at fitting the initial transmission trend of the outbreak, and the epidemic rate declined rapidly after intervention measures were implemented (rt≈0). ConclusionThis rare rotavirus infection diarrhea outbreak among adults in confined settings suggests that the construction of public health prevention and control systems in prison may be overlooked. Cross infection during meal processing and distribution in the canteens of such settings is likely to be the cause of the outbreak. Given the potential neglect of public heath system construction in special settings, it is imperative to enhance the surveillance and monitoring of rotavirus and other intestinal multi-pathogens among adults, as well as the construction of public health prevention and control systems in these special settings.

OBJECTIVE To provide a reference for optimizing and promoting the quality standards of Shechuan naolitong granules. METHODS Fifteen batches of Shechuan naolitong granules were used as samples to establish HPLC fingerprints using the Similarity Evaluation System for Chromatographic Fingerprint of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2012 edition). Similarity evaluation and common peak identification were performed, and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) was used to assess quality differences among different batches and to screen quality differential components. Using salvianolic acid B(SAB) as the internal reference, quantitative analysis of multi-components by single-marker (QAMS) was developed to simultaneously determine geniposidic acid (GA), chlorogenic acid (CA), vaccarin (VA), ferulic acid (FA) and senkyunolide I (SI). The results were compared with those obtained by the external standard method. RESULTS A total of 13 common peaks were identified in the HPLC fingerprints of 15 batches of samples, and the similarities of the spectra were all above 0.96. Seven chromatographic peaks were identified as GA (peak 3), CA (peak 6), VA (peak 8), FA (peak 9), SI (peak 11), SAB(peak 12) and TA(peak 13). OPLS-DA indicated that the differential quality markers among 15 batches were peaks 5, 11 (SI), and 12 (SAB).Using SAB as the internal reference, the relative correction factors for GA, CA, VA, FA and SI were calculated as 1.058 4, 0.594 3, 0.643 3, 0.342 7 and 0.262 8, respectively. The mean content of GA, CA, VA, FA, SI and SAB across the 15 batches of samples were 0.155 0, 0.085 4, 0.140 3, 0.071 8, 0.072 7, 1.276 3 mg/g, respectively, showing no significant difference compared with the ESM (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS The established HPLC fingerprint and QAMS are simple, efficient and economical, providing a reference for the quality control and further development of Shechuan naolitong granules.

Cells undergo glucose metabolism reprogramming under the influence of the inflammatory microenvironment, changing their primary mode of energy supply from oxidative phosphorylation to aerobic glycolysis. This process is involved in all stages of inflammation-related diseases development. Glucose metabolism reprogramming not only changes the metabolic pattern of individual cells, but also disrupts the metabolic homeostasis of the body microenvironment, which further promotes aerobic glycolysis and provides favourable conditions for the malignant progression of inflammation-related diseases. The metabolic enzymes, transporter proteins, and metabolites of aerobic glycolysis are all key signalling molecules, and drugs can inhibit aerobic glycolysis by targeting these specific key molecules to exert therapeutic effects. This paper reviews the impact of glucose metabolism reprogramming on the development of inflammation-related diseases such as inflammation-related tumours, rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's disease, and the therapeutic effects of drugs targeting glucose metabolism reprogramming on these diseases.

A teaching clinic is an outpatient clinic specialized for teaching, where trainees are responsible for medical activities such as medical history taking, physical examination, and diagnosis and treatment, under the assistance and guidance of teachers. Only a few hospitals in China have built up teaching clinics for standardized training of pediatric residents. This paper summarizes the experience in the operation management of the standardized residency training teaching clinic in Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The teaching clinic takes teaching as its core task, adheres to humanistic care, and follows the principle of hierarchical progression. Its operation involves organizational approval, preliminary arrangements, outpatient appointments, the implementation of teaching activities, and other processes, which are carried out under organizational management and quality management. We have explored a preliminary strategy for evaluating the teaching effects of teaching clinics, and proposed some suggestions for the future development of pediatric residency training teaching clinics such as increasing objective evaluation methods and increasing pediatric subspecialty teaching clinics.

Objective:To analyze the feasibility and clinical efficacy of mirror reconstruction in total hip arthroplasty (THA) assisted by visual treatment solution (VTS) for patients with Crowe type II-III developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).Methods:Included in this study were 67 patients (67 hips) with unilateral Crowe type II-III DDH undergoing primary THA from June 2022 to August 2023. According to the reconstruction position of the rotation center, the patients were divided into mirror group and high group. There were 37 patients (37 hips) in the mirror group, reconstructed by referring to the rotation center of contralateral normal hip, with 8 males and 27 females, aged 40.9±16.7 years old and 30 patients (30 hips) in the high group, reconstructed by the "high hip center" strategy, with 7 males and 23 females, aged 38.3±11.1 years old. The radiographic results between the affected hip and the normal hip in 12 months postoperatively and the clinical results before and after the operation were compared. Results:All the operations for patients with Crowe type II-III DDH were completed successfully. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and the follow-up time in the mirror group were 113.9±22.9 min, 287.8 ±181.6 ml and 12.8±1.8 months, respectively, while those in the high group were 118.0±26.2 min, 293.3±125.8 ml and 13.7±2.3 months respectively without significant difference between the two groups. In 12 months postoperatively the rotation center height, greater trochanter height and femoral offset of 37 hips in the mirror group were 16.1±3.8 mm, 17.7±5.2 mm and 34.4 ±5.1 mm, respectively, which were not significantly different from those of the normal side, while the HHS and WOMAC osteoarthritis index were significantly improved compared to those before operation from 32.3±5.3 and 76.9±5.4 points to 84.3±6.3 and 9.4±2.5 points ( t=-34.222, P<0.001; t=64.486, P<0.001). In the high group, the rotational center height, greater trochanter height and femoral offset of 30 hips were 27.9±3.7 mm, 25.4 ±7.9 mm and 35.4 ±6.2 mm, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the normal side ( t=-15.706, P<0.001; t=-6.494, P<0.001; t=-2.555, P=0.016), and the HHS and WOMAC osteoarthritis index were significantly improved compared to those before operation from 30.9±4.8 and 78.7±5.3 points to 79.5±4.9 and 13.9±3.3 points ( t=-37.339, P<0.001; t=64.375, P<0.001). The HHS and WOMAC osteoarthritis index in the mirror group significantly improved compared with the high group in 12 months postoperatively ( t=3.404, P=0.001; t=-6.315, P<0.001). The X-ray at last follow-up showed that all prostheses were in a stable position. Conclusion:Compared with the high hip center reconstruction, satisfactory outcomes in terms of functional recovery and radiographic evaluation could be achieved in patients with Crowe type II-III DDH undergoing VTS-assisted THA of mirror reconstruction. The application of mirror reconstruction is expected to achieve the goal of restoring the anatomical structure and function of the primary hip after THA.

Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2024;44(2):170-182
Objective:To investigate the mechanism of Yunshi Ganmao Heji against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection based on network pharmacology and in vivo experiments. Methods:Network pharmacological prediction: Several databases including TCMSP and GeneCards were used to predict the active ingredients and targets of Yunshi Ganmao Heji in the intervention of RSV infection. Cytoscape 3.2.1 software was used to construct the traditional Chinese medicine component-disease target network diagram. The interactions between proteins were analyzed by STRING database. GO functional enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were performed using Metascape database. Molecular docking technology was used to verify the results of network pharmacology. Experimental verification of Yunshi Ganmao Heji for the intervention of RSV infection: A mouse model of RSV infection was established through intranasal infection. After the administration of Yunshi Ganmao Heji, blood routine test results, lung indexes and pathological changes in lung tissue were analyzed. Peripheral blood T cell subsets were detected by flow cytometry. The levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β in serum were detected by ELISA. RT-PCR was used to detect the relative expression of TLR4, NF-κB and RSV-N gene at mRNA level in lung tissues. Results:A total of 41 active ingredients of Yunshi Ganmao Heji and 111 drug targets for RSV infection were obtained. Besides, 167 signaling pathways mainly including PI3K/AKT, MAPK and Toll-like receptor signaling pathways were obtained. Molecular docking results showed that the binding energies of luteotin, kaempferol and quercetin, three active ingredients of Yunshi Ganmao Heji, with RSV-G, RSV-F, PI3K, AKT1 and Bcl-2 were less than 0 kcal/mol. In vivo experiment results showed that compared with RSV group, the counts of white blood cells and lymphocytes increased and the lung index decreased in high-dose Yunshi Ganmao Heji group, with statistically significant difference ( P<0.05). HE staining showed pulmonary hyperplasia, thickened alveolar wall and inflammatory cell infiltration in interstitium in RSV group. Alveoli in ribavirin group as well as low-dose, medium-dose and high-dose Yunshi Ganmao Heji groups tended to be of uniform size, and the alveolar walls was roughly uniform in thickness. Compared with RSV group, the low-dose, medium-dose and high-dose Yunshi Ganmao Heji groups showed significantly increased numbers of CD3 +, CD4 + and CD8 + T lymphocytes, decreased CD4 + /CD8 + T cell ratio, lower levels of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β in serum, and reduced viral load and inhibited expression of TLR4 and NF-κB at mRNA level in lung tissues ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Yunshi Ganmao Heji can regulate RSV infection by targeting multiple targets and pathways with several active ingredients. Its main functions are to alleviate pathological injury in lung tissues and reduce inflammatory response, and the possible mechanism underlying the antiviral functions may be related to its inhibitory effect on the activation of TLR4/NF-κB pathway.

Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control 2024;36(6):658-663
There are multiple bioactive substances in the mosquito saliva, most of which are allergic to humans. Previous studies have demonstrated that mosquito bites may induce allergic reactions mediated by B and T lymphocytes, resulting in a reduction in the quality of life and even death among patients. To date, 11 salivary allergens and 8 non-salivary allergens have been characterized in mosquitoes. Nevertheless, there is still lack of highly sensitive, highly specific and safe tools for diagnosis of mosquito bites-induced allergy, and the difficulty in obtaining natural mosquito salivary allergens results in failure in widespread applications of immunotherapy for mosquito bites-induced allergy. This review provides an overview of the allergic symptoms of mosquito bites and underlying mechanisms, and mosquito salivary allergens that have been characterized and registered in the systematic allergen nomenclature website.
