Objective To investigate the relationship between the disorder of learning and memory in lead rats and the argnine vasopressin (AVP) and the somatotatin (SS) of hippocampus. Methods Sixty healthy 2-month old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into normal control group and lead group. Normal control group was given deionized water and the lead group was given 0.1% lead acetate deionized water for 3 months to make chronic lead rat. Learning and memory ability was tested by the Y-maze test. The content of AVP and SS in hippocampus were tested by the immunohistochemical method. Results The learning memory ability and the content of AVP and SS in hippocampus CA1 section of the lead group were degraded obviously than the control group(all P0.05)in hippocampus CA3 section of the lead group were degraded also. Conclusion The disorder of the learning and memory of the lead exposure rats may be due to the decrease of the content of AVP and SS in hippocampus.

ObjectiveTo analyze the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in DISC1 gene.MethodsThe studied sample consisted of 528 patients with schizophrenia (264 males and 264 females) and 528 healthy controls (264 males and 264 females). Two function SNPs were selected and gcnotyped by Illumina Golden Gate assay.Genotype and allele frequencies were compared between patients and controls to assess the association to schizophrenia. The clinical features of the hospital first patients were further examined with the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) before trcatment with antipsychotics.ResultsTwo SNPs were genotyped in subjects.A significant association was found between rs3737597 and schizophrenia in genotype (387:133:8,350:164:14) and allele frequencies (907:149,864:192,P<0.05 ).Moreover, the haplotypes,A-A constructed from two SNPs showed significant differences between cases and controls ( P< 0.05).For rs821616,there were significant difference in positive syndrome score, delusions and poor rapport between patients with genotypes AA or not.ConclusionThis study describes a positive association between DISC(1) and schizophrenia in the Han Chinese population and DISC1 is the susceptible gene in schiz ophrenia.

This paper reviewed recent advances in clinical and basic researches of scalp acupuncture based on evoked potentials (EPs).The role and significance of various EPs in scalp acupuncture were analyzed and compared.Eventrelated potentials (ERPs) which occupied leading position in EPs application nowadays and the latest advances in the related components of its action were combined to make a prospect of the scientific research methods of scalp acupuncture in the treatment of cerebral apoplexy and other diseases.

Class Ⅱa bacteriocins can be considered as the major subgroup of bacteriocins from lactic acid bacteria, not only because of their large number, but also because of their activities and potential applications. They have first attracted particular attention as listericidal compounds and are now believed to be the next in line if more bacteriocins are to be approved in the future. The present review attempts to provide an insight into general knowledge available for class Ⅱa bacteriocins and discuss common features and recent findings concerning these substances.

Aim The purpose of this study was to compare the differential expression of 15-lipoxygenase isoenzymes in the pulmonary arteries between normoxia and hypoxia and to explore their roles in the formation of hypoxic pulmomary vasoconstriction. Method Eighteen SD rats were randomly divided into two groups(n=9):the normoxic control group breathing fresh gas and the hypoxic group breeding in animal hypoxic incubator.Immunohistochemical method,in situ hybridization and Western blot were employed to determine certain 15-lipoxygenase isoenzymes which involved in the process of hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction. Results ①In normoxic control group, the expression of 15-LO-1 protein was detected in the pulmonary arteries;but the expression of 15-LO-2 protein wasn’t detected.②The expression of 15-LO-1 protein in hypoxic group was much stronger than that in normoxic group (P

Objective To analyze the prognostic factors in patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma of stage Ⅰb and Ⅱa treated by surgery, and to investigate their guid roles in available post-operation adjuvant therapy. Methods The clinicopathologic records of 306 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma of stage Ⅰb and Ⅱa who underwent radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy were retrospectively analyzed, and the prognostic factors were explored by univariate and multivariate methods. Independent prognostic factors were identified by COX proportional hazards regression model. Results The overall 5-year survival rate of these 306 patients was 78.1%. In univariate survival analysis, the poor prognostic factors included poor differentiation, positive pelvic lymph nodes, deep stromal invasion, parametrial extension, tumor size≥4 cm, and lymph vascular space involvement (P

Objective To compare genomic expression differences between androgenic complete hydatidiform mole (AnCHM) and normal first trimester villi with similar gestation weeks, and search for potential adjuvant diagnostic molecular markers. Methods Short tandem repeat (STR) detection was used to identify AnCHM,human oligonucleotide array U133 Plus 2.0 was used to measure genomic expression differences between AnCHM and normal villi, and quantitative fluorescent RT-PCR was used to verify array of several genes. Results Nine of 11 histologically diagnosed complete hydatidiform moles were found to be AnCHM by means of STR,and the other 2 were biparental complete hydatidifonn mole (BiCHM). Compared with villi, oligonueleotide array showed 279 genes (0.72%,279/38 500) were over expressed and 1710 genes (4.44%,1710/38 500) under expressed in AnCHM.Bioinformatics analysis found that differentially expressed genes were involved in multiple biological processes and pathways.Changes of imprinting genes, growth hormone genes and chorionie somatomammotropin hormone genes were especially remarkable. Conclusions Pathogenesis of AnCHM is a complex process involving multiple genes and pathways.Altered expression of imprint genes may play important roles in the process.
