Partial immunoactivities of peptidoglycan(PG)isolated from lactic acid bacteria were investigated.PG isolated from strain Z8 and Z17 of lactic acid bacteria respectively, had similar immunoactivities. The phagocytic function of M?(macrophage)increased markedly and serum lysozyme activity was significantly enhanced by injection of PG-extracts on mice.Investigation of immuno-enhancing effects of PG on vaccine of Newcastle disease in chickens showed that the hemagglutination inhibition levels of PG were higher than that of the control and the level was maintained for a longer time as compared to the control.

Objective:To investigate the protective effects of Cordyceps sinensis from Tibet and Qinghai on acute renal injury in-duced by gentamicin sulphate ( GM) . Methods:The rat model of acute renal injury induced by GM was established. The biochemical indicators including blood urea nitrogen ( BUN) and serum creatinine ( Scr) in serum and NAG enzyme and urine total protein in urine were detected. HE staining was used to observe the pathologic changes in kidney. Results:Compared with those in the model group, the levels of BUN and Scr in serum and NAG enzyme and urine total protein in urine were significantly reduced in the Cordyceps sinen-sis groups, and kidney cells necrosis was improved in the Cordyceps sinensis groups at low, medium and high dose (P<0. 05), how-ever, the difference between the Cordyceps sinensis groups with different habitats were not significant (P >0.05). Conclusion:Cordyceps sinensis from Qinghai and Tibet both have protective effect on acute kidney injury induced by GM in rats, and the difference between them is not remarkable.

To study and compare the protective effects of Cordyceps sinensis from different habitats on acute injury of hepatic tissue induced by carbon tetrachloride ( CCl4 ) . Methods:The rat model of acute injury of hepatic tissue induced by CCl4 was established. The biochemical indicators of alanine aminotranferease ( ALT) and aspartate aminotransferease ( AST) in the serum and superoxide dismutase ( SOD) and L-glutathione( GSH) in the liver tissue were detected, and the liver tissue HE staining was used for the histopathology determination. Results:Compared with those in the model group, the levels of AST and ALT in the serum were sig-nificantly reduced, the levels of SOD and GSH in the liver tissue were notably increased, and the necrosis of liver cells was improved in Cordyceps sinensis groups at low, medium and high dose from different habitats (P<0. 05), however, the differences between the two different habitats were not significant (P>0. 05). Conclusion: Cordyceps sinensis from Qinghai and Tibet shows some positive differences in the protective effect on the acute chemical liver injury induced by CCl4 in rats, however, the differences are not remarka-ble.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(08):-
Mice was stimulated by peptidoglycan from Lactobacillus sp and detect cytokines production。It was found that PG induced the production of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1,TNF-? in peritoneal macrophages,IFN-? in spleen cell)and did not induce the IL-2 production in spleen cell. Affymetrix MOE430A genechip was used to analyze changed gene expression of immune cells. It was found that expression of cytokines and related genes were changed under peptidoglycan administration. This might induced by activation of TLR-NF-?B signal pathway.
7.Analysis of therapeutic strategies and prognostic factors of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissue.
Chinese Journal of Surgery 2011;49(11):974-977
OBJECTIVETo assess the therapeutic strategies and risk factors of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissue.
METHODSThe 78 cases with malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissue treated at Muscular Skeletal Tumor Center of People's Hospital, Peking University from December 1999 and October 2010 were retrospected. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to determine the probable risk factors including sex, age, tumor location, tumor size and so on.
RESULTSAll 60 cases were followed up ranged from 6 to 131 months (medium 35.5 months). The 1-, 3-, 5-year overall survival rate was 84.9%, 72.9% and 56.9% respectively. Local recurrence rate is 33.3% (20 cases) with a median time of 11.5 months (1 to 72 months) and metastatic rate is 15.0% (9 cases) with a median time of 7 months (1 to 26 months). Univariate analysis indicated that condition of presentation (primary case or recurrence case), tumor size and surgical margin were significantly related to survival rate (all P < 0.05, Kaplan-Meier Log-rank test), surgical margin and radiotherapy related to local recurrence rate (P value were 0.000 and 0.039 respectively), and surgical margin related to metastatic rate. Multivariate analysis showed that surgical margin was independent risk factors for survival rate (P = 0.002, OR = 5.753, 95%CI 1.904 - 17.386) and local recurrence rate (P = 0.000, RR = 0.044, 95%CI 0.010 - 0.188).
CONCLUSIONSSurgical margin was independent risk factors for survival rate and local recurrence rate. Comprehensive therapy of surgery followed by radiotherapy can improve survival rate, reduce local recurrence rate.

Microbiology 2008;0(07):-
Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) are widespread in the environment. SRB are obligate anaerobes and capable of dissimilatory reduction of sulfate. SRB have application prospects in the control of environmental pollution due to that many pollutants can be removed by SRB. The biological characteristics and metabolic mechanisms of SRB are introduced, and the application of SRB in the treatment of environmental pollution is described in this paper. The research progress of Cr(Ⅵ ) reduction and Cr(Ⅵ ) removal from wastewater by SRB is reviewed, and future direction of research on the control of Cr(Ⅵ ) pollution by SRB is also analysed.

Objects To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of outbreaks of brucellosis in recent years in Gansu province,in order to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of this disease. Methods Data of brucellosis cases from 2005 to 2010 in Gansu province were reviewed and retrospectively analyzed; the data included the outbreaks in different times, locations, groups, source of infection, and clinical manifestations. Results There were 8 brucellosis outbreaks among humans and animals in the nine administrative villages, seven townships (towns),six counties (districts) of the whole province in 5 years,a total of 66 of confirmed new cases. The source of infection was mainly the sheep (Small Tailed Han sheep and Cashmere goat),followed by dairy cow.The outbreak time was mainly in the May to August.Occupation distribution:of all the patients found in the past 6 years, farmers were 59 cases, accounting for 89.39% (59/66); students 4 cases, accounting for 6.06% (4/66);and herdsman 3 cases, accounting for 4.54%(3/66).Conclusions Brucellosis outbreaks increase significantly in recent years, and the epidemic situation is not optimistic.

Objective To explore the activation and apoptosis of peripheral blood lymphocytes(PBLs) in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura(HSP) and the effects of triptoIide(TP) on them. Methods The changes of activation and apoptosis were observed on cultured PBLs in children with HSP and healthy controls ,and the effects of TP were compared respectively. Expression of CD3, CD25 and apoptosis rate of PBLs were assayed with flow cytometry. Results The percentage of CD3+ CD25+ cell was significantly higher (P
