Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(19):-
This paper reviews the clinical application characteristics of artificial skin for external used in the treatment of burn wound at recent years. Skin is the important organ to protect the environmental stability in vivo, resist the outside invasion, evacuate moisture and regulate body temperature, as well as one component of immunity system. Subsequent to the burn injury, various damages of the organism may be related to the loss of skin barrier. Epidermal substitutes comprise the epidermal cells growing on the degradable matrix or polymer film; While dermal substitutes are shaped as a matrix with active bacterium or without cells, and they can induce the migration and proliferation of fibroblasts, together with the secretion of extracellular matrix; Full skin substitutes include both epidermal ones and dermal ones. With the progress on the biomedicines and the materials, the research regarding artificial skin also develops. However, it is still a key problem to construct an ideal artificial skin, which contains vessels and innervation, skin accessory structure and physiological function of normal skin.

Objective To contrast the accuracy rate of nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-staging and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO, 2009) clinical-staging, and evaluate the value of MRI in diagnosis of lymph node metastasis in cervical cancer. Methods The surgical pathology was used as golden standard, the accuracy rates of MRI-staging and FIGO-staging were compared in 86 patients of cervical cancer (surgical pathological staging≥Ⅰb). The lymph nodes with slightly hyperintense signal in diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) and with minor axis≥1 cm in T2WI-TRA (T2 weighted imaging-transverse section) were considered as metastatic lymph nodes, the characteristics of lymphatic metastasis diagnosed by MRI were analyzed, and the accuracy rate, the sensitivity, the specificity, the positive predictive value and the negative predictive value of MRI were evaluated. Results The accuracy rate of FIGO-staging was 80.2%(69/86), and the accuracy rate of MRI-staging was 83.7%(72/86), there was no significant difference between them (P > 0.05). The accuracy rate of lymphatic metastasis diagnosed by MRI was 94.2%(81/86), the sensitivity was 73.3%(11/15), the specificity was 98.6%(70/71), the positive predictive value was 91.7%(11/12), and the negative predictive value was 94.6%(70/74). The true positive metastatic lymph nodes in 11 cases were located in the external iliac nodes or common iliac lymph nodes, the average short/long diameter was 0.76. The forms of lymph nodes were as follows:quasi-circular (n=3), border irregularity (n=3), huge fusion form (n=4), and 1 with central necrosis area. One case of false positive metastatic lymph node was located in the right external iliac node, with the sharp of huge fusion form in T2WI/TRA, comminution in T2WI-axial thin slices, and long strip in T2WI/SAG. Conclusion The accuracy rates of MRI-staging and FIGO-staging were both higher, which can diagnose lymphatic metastasis relatively accurately when they are combined together.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1996;0(09):-
Phospholipase A_2 (PLA_2) inhibitor quinacrine was used to explore protective effect on multiple organ dysfunction (MOD) caused by intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats. Gut I/R caused the increase of gut PLA_2 activity and induced endotoxemia and bacteriemia. Pretreatment with intravenous quinacrine 10mg?kg~(-1) attenuated bacteria and endotoxin translocation, markedly lowered the levels of thromboxane A_2 and prostacyclin I_2 in blood, and provided protection from the development of vital organs dysfunction. As a result, the survival rate in pretreatment group increased by 25%. The results demonstrate that gut I/R promotes gut barrier failure, then contributes to the development of MOD by allowing bacteria or endotoxin reaching the circulation. PLA_2 and PLA_2-dependent lipid mediators play an important role in the development of gut I/R injury and MOD. Intravenous quinacrine has protection against MOD resulting from gut I/R.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(8):238-241
BACKGROUND: Posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) arises as a delayed and /or protracted response to a stressful event or situation of an exceptionally threatening or catastrophic nature. There have been reports about natural disasters causing PTSD, but there have been few reports about PTSDcaused by technological disasters. Our study investigated the mental status of those survivors after a serious explosion.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the characteristics and the factors of impact of PTSD caused by technological disasters.DESIGN: A case controlled study of the survivors of a momentous explosion.SETTING: A provincial mental health center.PARTICIPANTS: A serious explosion happened in Urumqi on September 8, 2000. Twenty-eight survivors(as the study group) who were still hospitalized for treatment 3 -5 months after the accident were involved in this study. And in the control group were 30 normal persons whose general demographic data were the same as those patients.METHODS: A psychiatrist told the subjects the following: The objective and meaning of the test, and explained the self-making questionnaire about their general condition, symptom checklist (SCL-90), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale(SDS), cornell medical index(CMI), the questionnaire on dealing styles, the questionnaire on social support, and others-evaluating scale, incident effect scale(IES); a list of stress reaction symptoms.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Main resulta:①Clinical feature of PTSD caused by the technological disaster.②the related factors to PTSD in the technologal disaster.Secondary results: Comparison of the results between the two groups in IES, CMI, SDS and SAS.RESULTS: A total of 22(79% ) survivors met the criteria as PTSD. There were significant differences in all the assessments(IES, CMI, SDS, SAS,SCL-90) between the study group and the control group (t =3.62-8.17, P < 0.01 ) . The diagnosis of PTSD was positively correlated with the level of traumatic exposure( r = 0. 420, P < 0. 05), and negatively correlated with the degree of satisfaction with the post-event solutions( r = 0. 420, P< 0.05), positively correlated with IES scoring and the level of heart pain ( r = 0. 389 - 0. 665, P < 0. 01 ) . The total scores of IES were positively correlated with the level of exposure ( r = 0. 478, P < 0.05 ).CONCLUSION: The incidence of PTSD after explosion was high, and its occurrence was related with the degree of exposure in the event and that of the satisfaction with the post-event solutions.
