Objective To investigate the expression of Oct-4 as a stem cell marker in gastric carcinoma tissues and its clinical significance. Methods From June 1996 to March 2006, 63 paraffin samples of gastric carcinoma tissues were obtained, and the expression of Oct-4 was examined by immunohistochemical staining. Another 58 normal tissues adjacent to gastric carcinoma and 10 normal gastric mucosa tissues were served as controls. The clinieopathologieal data of 63 patients with gastric carcinoma were retrospectively analysed, and their relationship with the expression of Oct-4 was analysed. Fifty of these 63 patients were followed up for 8 years, Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank teat were employed to explore the correlation between Oct-4 expression and survival, and Cox Regression analysis was performed to evaluate the possibility of Oct-4 expression as an independent prognostic factor for gastric carcinoma. Results The positive expression rate of Oct-4 in gastric carcinoma tissues was 80.95% (51/63), significantly higher than that of normal tissues adjacent to gastric carcinoma (5.2%, 3/58) and normal gastric mucosa tissues (0) (P < 0.01). The expression of Oct-4 was positively correlated to the clinical stage of gastric carcinoma(P<0.01). There was no significant difference in the expression of Oct-4 among patients with different differentiation, age, and gender (P>0.05). Patients with higher expression of Oct-4 had significantly shorter survival time (P<0.05). The expression of Oct-4 was not significantly correlated with the prognosis of gastric carcinoma(RR, 0.554; 95% CI, 0.209-1.466). Conclusion The expression of Oct-4 is correlated with the clinical stage and survival time of patients with gastric carcinoma, however, it is not an independent prognostic factor for gastric carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the effects of Buyang-Huanwu decoction combined with western medicine on early diabetic renal injury. Methods 200 cases of early diabetic renal injury were randomly recruited into study group and control group, with 100 cases in each group. The control group was treated with insulin injection and oral benazepril hydrochloride, and the blood pressure, blood lipid changes were closely monitored; while the study group was additionally treated with Buyang-Huanwu decoction on the basis of the control group. Results The total therapeutic effects in the study group was significantly higher than the control group (x2=15.62,P<0.01).The values of FBG,2 h PG,DBP,SBP,HbAlc in both groups were significantly reduced after the treatment (P<0.05,t=4.23,4.47,3.59,3.87,3.99 in the study group,t=4.34,4.76,4.05,3.78,3.69 in the control group) ; but the difference between the two groups had no significance (P>0.05).Before treatment rnALB,Urea,Cr,TG and TC were not significantly different (P>0.05) ; the values of mALB,Ureaand Cr were significantly reduced in the study group after the treatment (P<0.05,t=4.56,3.73,3.28);especially mALB in the study group was obviously lower than the control group (P<0.05,t=5.01).Conclusion Buyang-Huanwu decoction combined with western medicine was effective to treat early renal damage of type 2 diabetes, with the functions of reducing urinary protein, improving microcirculation and protecting renal function.

An analysis of the present development of general practitioners in China, probed into the bottlenecks found. The paper proposed to set forth from the training, use and incentives of GPs to promote the systematic design of China's GP system. These measures center on the regulation of GPs development, while building a multi-channel and multi-level GP development system.Other recommendations include raising the professional standing and attractiveness of GPs as a discipline, and enhancing GPs capacity building to promote general practitioners development.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;42(19):973-977
Cell-cycle deregulation leading to excessive cellproliferation is an important mechanism of human tumorigenesis. CDK6 and CDK4 have been found to be significant regulators of cellcycle, particularly in promoting cell -cycle progress. Moreover, these proteins are usually overly active in most tumors and closely related to tumor development. Recently, research has confirmed CDK4/6 as prospective targets for cancer therapy. However, the mechanism of excessive CDK6 activation leading to tumorigenesis is not completely understood. Therefore, further understanding of the role of CDK4/6 in cell -cycle regulatory pathways and celldifferenti-ation is essential, as well as their overexpression in different types of tumors. This information will elucidate the mechanisms of tumor development and treatment. Therefore, this review intends to discuss the structure and biological function of CDK6, the role and mecha-nism of CDK6 in carcinogenesis, and the clinical application of CDK6 inhibitors.

Objective To learn the incidence of the inherited metabolic diseases in Beijing. Methods Urine samples were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)for inherited metabolic diseases in high risky infants in Beijing . Results Urine samples from 411 high risky infants were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. 269 cases (65.5%) were detected to have metabolic abnormalities, including 19 cases (4.6%) diagnosed of inherited metabolic diseases in which there were 15 cases of methylmalonic academia and 1 case each of propionic academia, hyperphenylalaninemia, urea cycle abnormality and pyroglutamic aciduria. There were 22 suspected cases (5.4%) of inherited metabolic diseases including 13 cases of lactic acidosis, 5 cases of primary glycerol aciduria, 4 cases of fatty acid metabolic disorders including 1 case each of Citrin defects, tyrosinemia, galactosemia 3-methylcrotonoyl coenzyme A carboxylase deifciency and maple syrup urine disease. There were also 228 cases (55.5%) of metabolic abnormalities, such as increasing urine levels of lactic acid, sucrose, lactose, galactose, N-acetyl tyrosine, succinic acid, dicarboxylic acid and abnormal serine/threonine ratio. Conclusions Methylmalonic academia might be the most common inherited metabolic diseases in high risky infants in Beijing. For infants with clinical manifestations but unclear etiology, GC-MS should be performed. MS-MS and gene analysis could be combined if necessary.

Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2014;23(2):129-132
Objective To study the relationship between balance function and attention in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD),and guide the clinical intervention and training of ADHD.Methods The Tetrax balance system and the CPT were conducted among 124 ADHD children (age 6.0-14 years) and the normal controls. Results (1) The balance function was different between ADHD and normal controls. In junior grade of elementary school, the Fourier score of ADHD children was significantly higher than that of the normal control group in F1,F2-F4 and F5-F6 (P<0.05).In senior grade of elementary school, the Fourier score of ADHD children was significantly higher than normal controls in F2-F4 and F5-F6 (P< 0.05).There was no significant difference between ADHD and normal controls in junior high school.(2) There was correlation between balance function and attention in children with ADHD.In junior grade of elementary school, the full scale attention quotient was negatively correlated with F2-4,F5-6,F7-8 (P=0.018,0.009,0.010; rs =-0.146,-0.203,-0.189),and the visual attention quotient were negatively correlated with F1,F2-4,F7-8 (P =0.043,0.039,0.046 ; r s =-0.062,-0.071,-0.112).In senior grade of elementary school, the full scale attention quotient was negatively correlated with F5-6,F7-8 (P=0.015,0.033; rs =-0.217,-0.172),and the visual attention quotient were negatively correlated with F1,F7-8(P=0.037,0.045; rs =-0.051,-0.101).In junior high school, the negative correlation was existed between the visual attention quotient with F7-8 (P=0.038,r s =-0.114).Conclusion ADHD children have deficit balance. The balance function of ADHD children matures gradually. There is internal connection between balance and attention, especially for visual attention.
