Chemical constituents of the essential oil in above-ground and root of Bupleurum malconense and root of B. chinense were investigated by GC-MS compiled with automated mass spectral deconvolution and identification system (AMDIS) and retention index. The results showd that the components of essential oil in B. malconense have some similarities with the one in B. chinense, and both of them have the higher content of caryophyllene oxide which is an active component of anti-inflammatory and analgesic. These results suggested that as a local substitute, B. malconense has a certain scientific basis of the treatment for cold fever.

Objective To evaluate the effect of off-pump coronary endarterectomy (CE) plus off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (off-pump CABG) on patients with chronic total occlusion (CTO) combined with diffuse distal atherosclerosis. Methods From October 2006 to August 2009,65 CTO patients with 176 angiographically confirmed vascular stenosis or occlusive lesions, 70 of which were complete occlusion, underwent off-pump CABG. During the operation, diffuse intimal thickening distal to occlusive lesion was found, and blood flow of the bridges was unfavorable. Results Therefore endarterectomy was performed, followed by CABG. The blood flow in the bridges were 2-10 ml/min versus 14-37 ml/min before versus after endarterectomy. Pulsatility index (PI) was 5.1-15.6 versus less than 5 before versus after endarterectomy. Left ventricular ejection fraction was also improved significantly [before operation: (0.47±0.12)%, after operation: (0. 52±0.15)%, t=2.17, P<0.05]. Peri-operative myocardial infarction occurred in 2 cases, but without significant cardiac homodynamic changes. And 23 patients underwent coronary angiography to evaluate graft patency 3-18 months after operation, all of them had favorable blood flow. Conclusions It is feasible to perform off-pump CABG plus coronary endarterectomy for patients of chronic coronary total occlusion combined with diffuse distal atherosclerosis. This treatment is safe and effective.

Based on the infrared spectra of Lophatheri Herba and Commelinae Herba, one-dimensional infrared spectra, second derivative spectra and two-dimensional correlated spectra were used to find out the differences between Lophatheri Herba and its imitations, respectively. The common peak ratio and variant peak ratio dual-indexes sequential were calculated and established according to infrared spectra of eleven batches of herbs. Infrared spectral data of Lophatheri Herba cluster analysis was applied to explore the similarity between each sample. The grouping results trend of sequential analysis of dual-indexes and cluster analysis was accordant. The results showed that the differences could be found by multi-level identification, and the source and the quality of the herbs could be effectively distinguished by the two analysis methods. Infrared spectroscopy, used in the present work exhibited some advantages on quick procedures, less sample required, and reliable results, which could provide a new method for the identification of traditional Chinese medicine with the imitations and adulterants, and the control of quality and origin.

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2014;(9):867-871
Objective To discuss the pulmonary function change in infants with human bocavirus (HBoV) pneumonia or mycoplasma pneumonia (MP) and its clinical signiifcance. Methods One hundred and forty infants under 3 years old who were admitted due to pulmonary infection were recruited from January, 2013 to October, 2013. Among them, HBoV-DNA was detected in 64 cases, and MP-DNA was detected in 76 cases. Thirty eight normal age-matched infants were selected as controls. The shape of tidal breathing lfow-volume loops (TBFVLs) and change of every index were measured with a Pulmonary Testing System (Jaeger MasterScope). Results The ratio of time to peak tidal expiratory lfow (PTEF) to total expiratory time (TPTEF/TE), the ratio of VPTEF to expiratory volume (VPTEF/VE), tidal expiratory lfow at 25%of the remaining tidal volume (TEF25%) and the ratio of TEF25%to PTEF (25/PF) were signiifcantly decreased in infants with HBoV and MP infection as compared with healthy infants (P<0.05). However, there was no signiifcant difference of the above indices between infants with HBoV and MP infection (P>0.05). The shape of TBFVLs in infants with HBoV and MP pneumonia was changed and characterized by left-shifted PTEF and trough-like concave in descending limb. The PTEF was decreased in infants with pulmonary infection. Conclusions HBoV or MP infection results in impaired pulmonary function with manifestations of obstruction in small airway. The shape of TBFVLs in infants with HBoV and MP pneumonia is characterized by left-shifted PTEF and trough-like concave in descending limb.

Objective To investigate the effect of calcium antagonist verapamil on the function of rat?- cells and tolbutamide (D860)-induced insulin release. Methods Insulin released from isolated islets were measured in control,verapamil,D860,and verapamil+D860 groups.Furthermore, intravenous glucose tolerance test (IVGTT) was conducted in acute experiments treated with verapamil and D860 respectively to assess?-cell function in rats with the same allocation as in vitro.Another IVGTT was performed in the end of 4 weeks' treatment. The insulin contents in pancreas were assayed and pancreas islets morphology were observed with immunohistochemistry. Results Verapamil could inhibit insulin release from isolated islets.Verapamil group was [(1.244?0.082)ng?ml~(-1)?islet~(-1)]and control group (2.623?0.226) ng?ml~(-1)?islet~(-1)(P0.05).Also,similar results were obtained in normal rats during acute experiments and verapamil reduce the hypoglycemic effect promoted by D860. However, above results were not observed in the end of 4 weeks experiments, and no difference for insulin content and morphological change in islets was found among four groups. Conclusion Treatment of verapamil chronically does not impair islet function and interfere with the hypoglycemic effect of D860 in rats .

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2015;(7):971-976
A novel amplifier system was proposed for low-noise recording of pico-ampere current in nanopore experiment (<100 pA). As an example, the amplifier system was applied in α-hemolysin based nanopore detection of DNA-PEG-DNA conjugate to record the signals of translocation and bumping events in buffer solution (1 mol/L KCl, 10 mmol/L Tris--HCl, 1 mmol/L EDTA and pH=8. 0). The amplified current signal was filtered by a 3 kHz Bessel filter and sampled by a 100 kHz analog-digital convertor. As a result, the presented amplifier system could lower the noise in recording the current. The current blockages (<10 pA) of single molecules with low amplitude were recovered due to the high signal-to-noise ratio.

Objective To explore the peripheral blood microRNA (miRNA) expression of patients with gastric cancer, and to establish specific peripheral blood miRNA expression profile of gastric cancer, which would provide the evidencc for investigating the role of miRNA in the genesis and development of gastric cancer and looking for new molecular markers of gastric cancer.MethodsA total of 6 gastric cancer patients and 6 healthy volunteers were selected. The totat RNA of peripheral blood was extracted for miRNA expression profile examination and hioinformation analysis. The results of microarray were verified by real-time PCR. The online miRNA target gene pr(e)diction software was used to predict and screen miRNA differentially expressed target genes. Results Compared with control group, there were 54 differentially expressed miRNA in gastric cancer group,of which the expression of 35 miRNA (miRNA-504,mi RNA-183,miRNA- 938,miRNA-1285,miRNA- 576-3p,miRNA-663,etc) were up-regulated and 19 miRNA (miRNA-433,miRNA-193b,miRNA-329,miRNA 409-3p,miRNA 154,el(e)) were down-regulated.The results of real-time PCR indicated that there was a good consistency between PCR verificd results and microarray results in 2 up-regulated miRNA (miRNA 504 and miRNA-183) and 2 down-regulated miRNA (miRNA-443 and miRNA- 193b).ConclusionThere is specific peripheral blood miRNA expression profile of patients with gastric cancer, and these differentially cxpressed miRNA will likely become new diagnostic biomarkers of gastric cancer.
