Objective:To investigate hard-tissue changes in borderline cases with extraction and non-extraction during treatment and follow-up stages. Methods:Five associate professors, who were from Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology, were asked to make judgment on the cases with full pre-treatment records for discriminating the borderline cases from extraction and non-extraction cases.Fifty-four borderline cases with full treatment records which had been out of treatment for at least 2 years were followed.Twenty-one cases with follow-up records were collected including 8 extraction cases and 13 non-extraction cases.Cephalometric measurements were preceeded in IDAS(Image and Database Analysis System) software program. Results:In extraction group, significant changes of SNB,SNPg in A-P direction and that of ArGo/ANSMe,MP/SN in vertical direction were present during the follow-up stage, while the overjet was stable. In non-extraction group, only decrease of proclination of lower incisor and increase of overjet were present without any skeletal changes during the follow-up stage. In comparison of the two groups,no skeletal and dental changes showed statistically significant difference except for MP/SN and ArGoGn in pre-treatment stage, while dental characteristics in relation to upper and lower incisor(L1/NB,L1-NB,L1-AP,U1-AP,U1/L1) showed statistically significant difference between the two groups after treatment. But in follow-up stage, the skeletal and dental pattern tended to be similar for both groups only except for the proclination of lower incisor. Conclusion:The similarities of skeletal and dental pattern are demonstrated in extraction and non-extraction group before treatment.Dental changes are the major post-treatment changes in the two groups. In follow-up stage,counter-clockwise rotation of mandible is unique in extraction group, which is likely a hepful factor for stability of overjet, while lingual tipping of lower incisor in non-extraction group without skeletal changes may contribute to overjet relapse.

Aim To investigate effects of moxonidine on hemodynamics in anesthetized rats. Methods The indexes of hemodynamics were examined by catheterization of arteries in anesthetized Wistar rats. Results DBP, +dp/dt_ max, -dp/dt_ max,t-dp/dt_ max ,V_ pm and V_ max were significantly declined in dose-dependent manner after administration, but HR and SBP didn't change significantly. Conclusion These results showed that antihypertensive effects of moxonidine were related to inhibition of systolic and diastolic functions of myocardium.Furthermore, the antihypertensive effects of moxonidine were associated with reduction of peripheral vascular resistance.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(05):-
Objective:To explore the possibility of immune prevention and cure for tetrodotoxin (TTX) intoxication and develop an antitoxin vaccine against TTX.Methods:TTX was conjugated to Tachypleus tridentatus hemocyanin(TTH) in presence of formaldehyde and this conjugate(TTX-TTH) was used as an immunogen to immunize Balb/C mice. The quality of antisera in animal was detected on schedule by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and competition-inhibited enzyme immunoassay(CIEIA).Mice immunized with TTX-TTH were challenged intraperitoneally with lethal doses of TTX(1LD=13.5 ?g/kg).Results:The high titer and affinity of antisera could last for a time as long as more than one year. The immunized mice were ip challenged with 1?LD of TTX once and again at a fixed period, there was a affirmative antitoxic effect in about 12 months(total 15?LD),and a partial effect in following time;about one fourth of animal survived till 24 months post initial immunization(total 26?LD),and which was at a stage of senescence in mice. The anti-TTX poisoning effect of animal was approximately consistent with the antisera quality tested. Conclusion:The experimental vaccine of TTX could effectively protect animal from TTX intoxication and its effect was of longer duration of validity.Immunoprophylaxis would be the hopeful means for detoxification of TTX. Chinese Journal of Medical Physics 2008;25(1):477-480,483
Objective: Combining spatial independent component analysis (sICA) with temporal correlation analysis to investigate the functional connectivity of human brain using resting state fMRI. Methods: First, activated area was localized by performing sICA on the data from block design run, then one of the activated brain areas was chosen as a region of interest (ROI)and low frequency correlations between ROI and other regions were calculated in resting state to detect the functional connectivity networks. To validate the method, neural connectivity to primary motor cortex was assessed using this method during a resting state. Results: Functional connectivity network of motor cortex was detected, including primary motor cortex (M1), supplementary motor area (SMA), primary sensory cortex (S1), dorsal premotor cortex (PMd) and posterior parietal somatosensory association area (PSAAp). The connectivity implied by the resting state correlation was far more similar to the connectivity established by non-imaging methods. Conclusion: Functional connectivity of human motor primary cortex was investigated by combining sICA with temporal correlation using resting fMRI data. It provided a simple and noninvasive method for the research of brain functional connectivity.

Cystic liver metastasis, which lacks specific clinical manifestations and standardized treatment, rarely occurs after radical gastrectomy. This study presented two gastric cancer cases with cystic liver metastasis treated in Wuxi People's Hospital from September 2008 to November 2012. The two female patients were 66 and 65 years old, respectively. Poorly differentiated ulcerated adenocarcinoma classified as stage III B [Tumor, Node, and Metastasis Classification (T4aN2M0)] and clinical manifestations of abdominal distension and ascites were detected in both patients. Cyst fluids were subjected to cytological analysis. Results confirmed the presence of liver metastasis of gastric cancer. The two patients benefited from local intracavitary chemotherapy or systemic intravenous chemotherapy.

Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(02):-
Objective To study the antiviral and antibacterial effects of the effective site of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM-ES).Methods Chicken embryoes were infected with influenza virus A(FM1 strain) and pre-injected with TCM-ES by means of chicken-embryo inoculation technique, and the antiviral effect of TCM-ES on chicken embryo was assayed by detecting the hemagglutination titers in allantoic fluids.Mice were orally pretreated with various dosages of drugs twice daily for 3 days, then were given drugs continuously for another 4 days following FM1 infection. The protective effects of TCM-ES on mice infected with FM1 were assayed by calculating the weight, index of lung,death-protection rate, and life-prolongation rate, etc.Ribavirin was used as the positive control. In addition, the antibacterial effects of TCM-ES were observed by detecting the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) by test-tube dilution method. Results In chicken embryo experiments,TCM-ES showed a potential inhibiting effect on influenza virus with the MIC of 10 mg/mL,which was weaker than ribavirin. The results of animal experiment showed that the body-weight(BW) and pulmonary index of infected model group decreased evidently compared with those of the normal group,TCM-ES groups at the dosages of 750 mg/kg and 1500 mg/kg could reverse the decrease of BW and lung index as compared with the infected models, the difference being insignificant as compared with the normal group.Moreover,TCM-ES also increased the death-protection rate and life-prolongation rate of mice in a dose-dependent manner.TCM-ES at dosage of 10 mg/mL(MIC and MBC) had an antibacterial effect on staphylococcus, while had no effect on gram-negative bacilli. Conclusion TCM-ES has obvious antivirus effect on influenza virus FM1 strain, and also has certain antibacterial effect on staphylococcus, which is worth of further development and research.
