Objective To evaluate the results of surgical treatment for duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST).Methods Between January 2000 and January 2013,33 patients underwent surgical resection of duodenal GIST in Peking University Cancer Hospital, including local resection and pancreatoduodenectomy.Clinical data, surgical outcome and prognosis were reviewed. Results The median survival time is 94 months (range:55-132 months). The 1,3,5-year survival rates are 97%,89% and 80%,respectively.The 5 year survival rate of patients after pancreatoduodenectomy and local resection is 78% and 83%,respectively (P =0.091).It shows that tumor size and mitotic count and Fletcher classification influence overall survival. Conclusions When fulfiling proper safe margins, local resection is a reliable and curative option for most duodenal GISTs.
3.Effects of nitric oxide on mitochondrial function in cardiomyocytes:pathophysiological relevance
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(08):-
It is now clear that both endogenous and exogenous sources of nitric oxide(NO) exert important modulatory effects on cardiac mitochondrial function. There is also growing evidence that NO can be produced within the mitochondria themselves.NO can influence respiratory activity, both through direct effects on the respiratory chain or indirectly via modulation of mitochondrial calcium accumulation. At pathological concentrations,NO causes irreversible alterations in respiratory function and also interacts with reactive oxygen species(ROS) to form reactive nitrogen species(RNS),which may further impair mitochondrial respiration and even lead to open the mitochondrial permeability transition pore and induce cell death.Diabetes, aging, myocardial ischemia, and heart failure are all associated with altered ROS generation, which can alter the delicate regulatory balance of effects of NO in the mitochondria.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(1):14-19
Hypertensive renal damage is based on the extent and duration of hypertension, renal damage caused by varying severity. Hypertensive renal damage due to various causes imbalance of vascular active substances, renal arteriosclerosis, so that the abnormal renal hemodynamic, renal ischemia, low specific gravity of urine, low osmotic pressure and urine. The rapidly increasing incidence of hypertensive renal damage has become one of the most important reasons of end stage renal disease (ESRD). Effective treatment of hypertension is limited by poor compliance and significant adverse reaction of antihypertensive drugs. Therefore, some patients have turned to Chinese medicine (CM), hoping that such treatments might improve the efficiency. The author reviews relevant theory and the latest researches, on the basis of combining diseases and syndrome, discusses state and achievement of hypertensive renal damage with Chinese herbal medicines from fundamental and clinical research and action mechanism from standpoints of Chinese herbal compound and herbal effective chemical composition to take future research for important reference.

Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 1994;0(04):-
OBJECTIVE To determine the distribution of pathogens of bacterial infection in respiratory intensive care unit (RICU) to provide reference for the prevention of hospital infection. METHODS To collect specimens of the patients received endotracheal intubation from Jan 2006 to Dec 2006 in our RICU,to identify pathogens and drug sensitivity test. RESULTS We isolated 105 pathogenic bacteria from 626 specimens of the 58 patients, the G-bacilli accounted for 64.76%,G+ cocci accounted for 20.95%,fungi accounted for 12.38%; Acinetobacter baumannii was one of the main G-bacilli accounted for 19.05%. Staphylococcus aureus of G+ cocci for 9.52%,and Candida albicans of fungi for 7.62%; from 105 pathogens,65 from the respiratory tract,15 from the for urinary tract, eight from a catheter tube, six from the digestive tract, five from the blood, four from the various drainage tubes and two from the incision secretions. CONCLUSIONS Hospital infection pathogens exist in the respiratory tract infection in hospitalized patients of respiratory ICU with risk factors of age, underlying diseases, time in the intensive care unit, ventilator time and the use of invasive procedures in a certain relationship.

Herald of Medicine 2014;(5):582-585
Objective To explore the correlation of E-cadherin expression and the sensitivity to EGFR-TKI molecular targeted therapy. Methods Eight kinds of cells,MCF-7,MDA-MB-231,T24,SiHa,H460,SK-HEP-1,MHCC97-H and THP-1 were treated with EGFR-TKI PD153035 and gefitinib, respectively, for 48 hours. The drug-sensitivity was detected by MTT,and the IC50 of cells were calculated. The E-cadherin protein were detected and compared. Results Followed with PD153035 and gefitinib treatment, the survival rates of MCF-7,MDA-MB-231,T24 and SiHa significantly reduced, and more E-cadherin protein expressed. However, the survival rates of the H460, SK-HEP-1, MHCC97-H, and THP-1 cells showed opposite results. Conclusion The sensitivity of epithelial cancer cells to EGFR-TKI is correlated with E-cadherin expression. E-cadherin may play a significant role on regulateing the sensitivity to EGFR-TKI molecular targeted therapy. E-cadherin is a key biomarker for recruiting appropriate patients for EGFR-TKI molecular targeted therapy.
