To observe the high glucose concentration on proliferation and fibronectin (FN) synthesis of glomerular mesangial cells (GMC),a culture of human GMC was established and the cell proliferation was assessed using MTT method and cell counting, and the changes in FN was analyzed with RT PCR and ELISA. It was found that high glucose concentration inhibited GMC proliferation and increased FN synthesis in dose and time dependent manner.The results suggest that hyperglycemia may have important role in the development of diabetic nephropathy.

Objective To investigate the effect of infecting betamethasone dipropionate 5mg/betamethasone disodium hydrogen phosphate 2mg in articular genu cavity on osteoarthritis.Methods 100 patients were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was treated with diprospan,injected into the inside of knuckle. The control group was treated with oral administration NSAIDs. Results In treatment group the rate of amelioration was 84% after one injection,the rate of amelioration was 90% after one course of treatment. Conclusion Injected diprospan into the inside of knuckle could relieve pain of arthritides, improve the function of arthrosis.

Objective To discuss how to improve the stability,reliability and security of the core servers of hospital information system.Methods Flaws on security were analyzed objectively in hospital server system adopting 'PC server & local hardisk' scheme.New schemes were put forward including both hot standby scheme based on concentrated storage and full redundancy scheme based on'minicomputer & diskette array'.Results It is proved that the full redundancy scheme is reasonable in theory,and usable in practice.Conclusion The mode of'minicomputer & diskette array' can effectively enhance the stability,reliability and safety of core servers.

Objective To develop a software through which transfusion labels can be created and printed automatically based on No.1 Military Medical Project,in order to resolve the problems of time-and-labor-consuming and errors due to transcription. Methods Based on No.1 Military Medical Project,the software of creating and printing transfusion labels was developed using PB computer programming language. Results The software can effectively avoid the errors due to copying transfusion labels by hand and save much time and effort. It optimizes nurses' working procedure. Conclusion The software is very practical for all the hospitals using the No.1 Military Medical Project.

Objective To determine the test-retest reliability of functional squat system (FSS) isometric muscle strength tests for patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods The isometric muscle strength of thirty patientswith knee osteoarthritis (21 males and 9 females; age 45 to 89 years, mean age 68.73 ± 12.19 years) was tested twice within 1 week by the same tester. Three test results were obtained: maximum isometric extension strength, the time to initiate isometric extension and the average isometric extension strength. Intra-class correlation coefficients (ICCs) for the three tests were computed to evaluate their retest reliability. Results The ICCs of the maximum isometric extension strength and average isometric extension strength of the uninvolved and involved extremities were respectively 0.87, 0.88, 0.92 and 0.89. The ICCs of the initiation time for the uninvolved and involved legs were respectively 0.25 and 0.41. Conclusion In these tests of patients with knee osteoarthritis using the functional squat system, both the maximum isometric extension strength and the average isometric extension strength had very good test-retest reliability. These two test results could be used as reliable guidance for treatment and rehabilitation of osteoarthritic knees.

Objective To study changes of AMPA receptors expression in nucleus accumbens and hypothalamus of methamphetamine dependent rats,and the therapeutical effect of rhynchophylline.Methods SPF male rata were randomly divided into normal control group,model group of methamphetamine,low dose of rhynchophylline group and high dose of rhynchophylline group(n=8 in each group).Experiment of conditioned place preference(CPP)was used to build the model of methamphetamine dependent rata.Western blotting was used to examine the changes of GluR2/3 subunits expression.The time of staying in drug-paired compartment of rats was used independent-samples t test to gather statistics,and the photodensity of proteinum strap was used One-Way ANOVA to gather statistics.Results Compare with rats in normal control group(the time of staying in drug-paired compartment of rats was(383.00±38.20)s),the rats produced CPP after treated with methamphetamine(the time of staying in drug-paired compartment of rats was(536.20±57.49)s),and low(30mg/kg) and high (60 ms/kg)dose of rhynchophylline(the time of staying in drug-paired compartment of rats were(299.80±15.96)s and(189.40±59.02)s)both could eliminate CPP effect.Compare with rats in normal control group (the ratio of value of average gray scale were(0.54±0.04)INT·mm~2 and (0.70±0.04)INT·mm~2),GluR2/3 subunits expression in nucleus aecumbens increased significantly in model group(the ratio of value of average gray seale was(0.89±0.03)INT·mm~2)and low dose of rhynchophylline group(the ratio of value of average gray seale was (0.93±0.03)INT·mm~2,P<0.01),which decreased significantly in hypothalamus(the ratio of value of average gray scale were (0.53±0.03)INT·mm~2 and (0.52±0.02)INT·mm~2,P<0.01).But GluR2/3 subunits expression in nucleus accumbens and hypothalamus of rats in high dose of rhynchophylline group(the ratio of value of average gray scale were (0.57±0.06)INT·mm~2 and (0.65±0.01)INT·mm~2) just liked the expression of normal control group(P>0.05).Conclusion GluR2/3 subunits expression of methamphetamine-induced CPP rats increased in nucleus accumbens but decreased in hypothalamus.High dose of rhynchophylline can reverse such changes and rebound the expression to normal level.

Objective To evaluate the difference in isokinetic strength of the knee muscles between knee osteoarthritis (KOA) patients aged 80 years and over and matched healthy controls,and to establish the association of isokinetic strength with pain and functional status in patients with KOA.Methods The study enrolled 32 patients aged 80 and over diagnosed with unilateral knee OA and 10 matched controls.Pain was evaluated by the visual analogue scale (VAS),the pain intensity scale and the Lequesne index for patients with knee OA.Functional status was assessed by the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT),the Five Times Sit to Stand Test (FTSST) and the Timed 10 Meter Walk Test (TWT).Muscle strength was measured using the isokinetic dynamometer Biodex System 4 Pro.Bilateral isokinetic (concentric) knee flexion and extension with the protocol of 60 degrees/sec,180 degrees/sec was also performed.Results The difference in two angular velocities of extensor and flexor peak torques between the knee OA group and the control group was statistically significant (t=2.747,P＜ 0.05).The extensor peak torque was negatively correlated with age,Liquesce index scores,FTSST,TUGT and TWT (r=-0.39～～-0.75,P＜0.05),but had no correlation with the VAS score or the Lequesne index pain score (r=-0.23～ 0.31,P＞0.05).The regression analysis results suggested that the extensor peak torque and the VAS score together were important predictors for the Liquesce index (adjusted R2 =0.41).Conclusions The degree of knee muscle damage is closely related to the functional performance of the muscles in knee OA patients aged 80 years or over.The strength of the quadriceps and the intensity of pain are important predictors of disability for those patients.
