Objective To investigate the mechanisms of enophthalmos and deformities of orbital walls in patients with orbital blowout fracture and to evaluate the reconstructive surgical methods. Methods The features of orbital deformities, the change of orbital volume and the mechanisms of enophthalmos were measured and analyzed by means of 3-D CT technique and 3-D diagnostic computer-assisted system. The reconstructive operations were employed on these 11 cases with orbital blowout fractures to correct deformities and restore orbital volume by applying autogenous bone grafts or hydroxyapatite bone substitutes. Results There were no serious complications such as infection of bone graft, exposure of hydroxypatite implant in all 11 cases, 10 cases got satisfactory appearance of eyelids and orbit, of which thediplopia and enophthalmos were corrected with protrution of eyeball restoring normally. 1 case remained diplopia after surgical correction. Conclusions The enophthalmos is mainly caused by orbital volume enlarging and orbital content herniating into paranasal sinuses. Implanting autogenous grafts and hydroxyapatite substitutes to restore orbital volume are proved to be effective.

Congenital heart disease is one of the most common birth defects, which is the main cause of death in children.Cardiovascular development is a complex process involving multiple genes, signaling pathways and regulatory factors.According to the sequencing of human genome and encode project, more than 80% of the genes in the genome are transcribed, but only 3% of these transcripts correspond to protein-encoding RNA.It is pointed out that non-coding RNA is as important or even more important as encoding RNA.More and more evidences show that not only encoding genes are involved in the regulation of cardiovascular development, but also protein non-coding genes play an important role in the development of heart. This review will summarize the biological characteristic and function of long noncoding RNAs, and introduce the role of some representative lncRNA in heart development and congenital heart disease.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(01):-
Objective To estimate relationship between the brain atrophy rate and percent corpus callosum area change in patients with cerebral vascular disease. Methods Forty-six patients with cerebral vascular disease underwent MR scanning twice,at the baseline and at the end of the follow-up period.T1W images at both time points were processed automatically with structural image evaluation using normalization of atrophy(SIENA) software to determine the percent brain volume change(PBVC).In addition, the corpus callosum and the inner table of the skull on the mid-sagittal images of two scans were outlined manually to measure their areas. The percent of corpus callosum area change(PCCAC) was calculated. Then, the relationship between PBVC,PCCAC and age was statistically analyzed. Results Significant correlation was found among the three variables: spearman rank correlation coefficient was-0.295 for PBVC and age(P=0.047),while it was-0.4 for PCCAC and age(P=0.006),and 0.538 for PBVC and PCCAC(P=0.000).Conclusion SIENA software identifies brain atrophy quantitatively in patients with cerebral vascular disease, which correlated with area reduction of the corpus callosum.

OBJECTIVETo study the blood enriching effects of Paeoniae Radix Rubra and Paeoniae Radix Alba, paeoniflorin and albiflorin on mouse model of blood deficiency caused by γ-ray radiation.
METHODBuild mouse model of blood deficiency induced by γ-ray radiation. Paeoniae Radix Rubra and Paeoniae Radix Alba were given during modeling. The amount of WBC was detected af- ter the treatment. Based on the result of WBC and paeoniflorin content, albiflorin content in Paeoniae Radix Rubra and Paeoniae Radix Alba, the same model and the same method were used to comparatively study the effect of blood enriching of paeoniflorin and albiflorin.
RESULTOn the 7th day, the amount of WBC in model mice treated with 2 g x kg(-1) Paeoniae Radix Alba and 2 g x kg(-1) Paeoniae Radix Rubra significantly increased compared with that of model group (P < 0.05). In another experiment with the same model, the amount of WBC in model mice treated with 120 mg x kg(-1) paeoflorin and 120 mg x kg(-1) albiflorin significantly increased (P < 0.05) compared with that of model group on the 7th day. On the 10th day, the amount of WBC in rats treated with 120 mg x kg(-1) paeoflorin increased significantly (P < 0.05) compared with that of model group. Compared with the same dose of paeoniflorin, the amount of WBC in mice treated with albiflorin had no significant difference.
CONCLUSIONAll Paeoniae Radix Alba, Paeoniae Radix Rubra, paeoniflorin and al- biflorin can raise the amount of WBC and have the effect of enriching blood induced by radiation, while paeoniflorin and albiflorin have a similar result in this model. The result indicated that both paeoniflorin and albiflorin are effective constituents in Paeoniae Radix Alba, and paeoniflorin work as the common effective constituent in both Paeoniae Radix Rubra and Paeoniae Radix Alba.

BACKGROUND:Mimics software is a three-dimensional (3D) image processing and editing tool based on CT scan data. Mimics software can rebuild the data and images gotten in CT, MRI and ultrasound scans into 3D images and display on the computer screen so as to help clinicians understand the type of fracture and the relationship of the 3D structure of the surrounding tissue and to provide a great help in the development of orthopedics operation. OBJECTIVE:To explore the application effect of Mimics software 3D reconstruction on perioperative period of Pilon fracture. METHODS:This study selected 61 cases of Pilon fracture, who received the surgery in the Zhongshan City Xiaolan People’s Hospital from September 2008 to September 2013, as research objects. They were randomly divided into 3D group and control group in accordance with the time of admission. Al patients underwent anterioposterior and lateral X-ray film examination and multi-slice spiral CT scan. Patients in the control group received internal fixation according to above examination results. Patients of the 3D group, on the base of those of the control group, were subjected to internal fixation after three-dimensional entity reconstruction by using Mimics V 10.0 software. Operation time and functional curative effect in the postoperative folow-up were compared between the two groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The operation time was significantly less in the 3D group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The number of patients with excelent 6-month functional curative effect was more, and the number of patients with poor effect was less in the 3D group than in the control group. The 6-month functional curative effect was better in the 3D group than in the control group (P < 0.05). These results showed that the application of Mimics software 3D reconstruction to the perioperative period of Pilon fractures can give comprehensive assessment of the situation of fracture, optimize and improve the preoperative plan and reduce the risk of surgery, and promote the successful completion of internal fixation.
