1.Protective effects of jujube polysaccharide on liver injury model mice induced by ethionine or paracetamol
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(08):-
Objective: To explore the protective effects of jujube polysaccharide on liver injury model mice induced by ethionine and paracetamol. Methods: Liver injury mice model was induced by gavage with ethionine suspension or intraperitoneal injection of parcharide. ALT levels in serum and liver histopathological changes were measured, the protective effect of jujube polysaccharide on liver injury model mice induced by ethionine or paracetamol was observed. Results: Mice liver injury model can be successfully established by gavage with ethionine or intraperitoneal injection of paracetamol. High and low-dose jujuba polysaccharide and the glucurolactone groups can significantly lower the ALT levels in serum and significantly improve pathological changes in liver injury model. Conclusion: Jujube polysaccharide had good protective effects on liver injury model mice induced by ethionine or paracetamol.
2.Efficacy evaluation of the resection of nasal inverted papilloma under nasal endoscope
China Medical Equipment 2016;13(8):60-62,63
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of the resection of nasal inverted papilloma (NIP) under endoscope. Methods: A total of 100 patients with NIP from April 2008 to December 2013 in our hospital were randomly divided into endoscopic surgery group (endoscopic group) and conventional surgery group (conventional group), each with 50 cases. All patients were followed up for 2 years, whose recurrence, complications and satisfaction were observed. Results: The patients were followed up for 2 years, and the recurrence rate between the two groups was not statistically significant (x2=0.96,P>0.05). The traditional group had a higher incidence of complications than the endoscopic group, and the difference was statistically significant (x2=4.16,P<0.05). Endoscopic patients’ satisfaction was higher, and the difference was statistically significant (x2=5.02,P<0.05).Conclusion: The resection of (NIP) under endoscope can reduce the incidence of complication, improve patient satisfaction, and will not increase the recurrence rate, which is an effective means of treatment to the NIP.
3.Value of CT Scanning in Diagnosis of Pancreatic Carcinomal and Its Clinical Significance
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1989;0(04):-
Objective To evaluate the CT manifestation of pancreatic carcinoma proved by patholoical results. Methods The patients were supine. Both plain and three-phase dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scan were performed. 100 ml of Ominipaque was injected at a rate of 2~4ml/s, with 5~10 mm slice thickness and interval. Results CT scanning clearly showed the direct signs or indirect signs of pancreatic carcinomal, which include: pancreatic mass, obstructive dilatation of the bile duct and pancreatic duct, the visualization of the abnormal large peripancreatic vessels, lymph node metastasis, etc. Conclusion Plain CT scanning shows clearly manifestation of pancreatic carcinomal and the surrounding tissue, and three-phase dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scan can clearly display the tiny changes of pancreatic parenchyma. Therefore it is valuable for diagnosis of pancreatic carcinomal.

Objective To investigate the expressions of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) in colonic mucosa of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC)and to analyze the relationship between them. Methods The specimens of colonic mucosa from 32 UC patients were graded according to endoscopic and histological grading standards, and specimens of colonic mucosa from 26 healthy controls were also collected. The expressions of COX-2 and 5-LOX mRNA and protein in colonic mucosa were determined using real-time fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry. The correlation between COX-2 and 5-LOX was analyzed. Results For UC patients,10 were class 1, 19 class 2 and 3 class 3 according to endoscopic grading, whereas 19 were class Ⅰ , 9 class Ⅱ and 4 class Ⅲ according to histological grading. The expressions of COX-2 and 5-LOX mRNA in active UC patients were 81. 25% and 53.13%, respectively, and were 11.54% and 19. 23% in healthy controls, respectively, with significant differences between the two groups (all P values<0.01). The positive expressions of COX2 and 5-LOX increased in accordance with increasing of endoscopic grading and histological grading. The levels of COX-2 and 5-LOX were 20. 08±1.17 and 37.83 ±1.48 in colonic mucosa tissues of UC patients, respectively, and 48.42 ± 1.69 and 11.28 ± 1.62 in healthy controls, respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups (all P values<0.05). A good positive correlation was found between COX-2 and 5-LOX. Conclusions The expressions of COX-2 is closely related to 5-LOX in UC patients. Both may play a pivotal role in inflammation of UC.

Objective: To assess the effect and safety of Qilong Capsule (QLC) in treating apoplexy involving the meridians (Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis syndrome ). Methods: A randomized , do uble-blinded double-dummy controlled trial was adopted. One hundred and two pati ents were treated with QLC, 101 with Xiaoshuan oral liquid (XOL ) and 200 served as the open treatment group. Results: The total effective rate in QLC group was 89.22% and symptomatic relieved rate 44.12%,showing t hat QLC was more effective than XOL(P<0.01).Conc lusion: QLC is effective for apoplexy involving the meridians and has no side an d toxic effects.

Tianjin Medical Journal 2015;(6):690-693
Hypoxia and hypoxia-induced factors (HIFs) are main regulators for tumor stem cells, metastasis-initiating cells and their differentiated progenies to adapt to the environment which lacks oxygen and nutrient in the process of cancer development. HIFs are up-regulated in many tumors, including leukemia, glioblastoma, melanoma, prostate cancer, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer, in where they are especially highly expressed in hypoxic regions. HIFs activation can induce expression of numerous stem cell related genes and multidrug resistance genes, which may play important roles in tumour and stem cell-mediated self-renewing, energy metabolism alternation, invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis and treatment resis?tance of neoplastic cells. Consequently, it will provide new clues for cancer therapy after investigating the role of HIFs in tar?geted regulation and metabolic pathway modulation in various stem cell-mediated tumor cells.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2015;(4):461-464
Endoplasmic reticulum is an important organelle in eu-karyotic cells.Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS)is usually triggered under cell hypoxia, carbohydrate undersupply or medi-cal treatment. Now,present studies show that ERS could activate several cell signal pathways and the UPR pathway is most widely researched. When UPR activates cell signal pathway,it can reg-ulate cancer drug resistance by involving with DNA damage re-pair,apoptotic suppression and autophagy.

Medical histories and clinical data of 54 patients with Sheehan's syndrome (SS) in endocrine department from August 2008 to August 2011 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.47 cases of SS were accompanied by pituitary crisis.19 cases had been misdiagnosed previously. The average period from the obstetric events to diagnosis of SS was ( 12.36 ± 1.28 ) years.Intravenous drip of hydrocortisone was given for rescuing pituitary crisis. The average dosages of hydrocortisone for the first 24 hours and the second 24 hours were ( 83.93 ± 7.73 ) and (42.19 ± 5.13 ) mg respectively. 12 cases of SS presented transient psychosis after the regular dosage of oral glucocorticoid replacement.
