The volatile oil is the main component in the leaves of Perilla frutescens. According to the main types of monoterpenoids or aromatic compounds, it can be divided into different chemotypes and the main chemotypes of Chinese producing Perilla are PA type (mainly containing Perilla aldehyde and limonene), PK type (mainly containing perillaketone) and PP type (subdivided as PP-a type, with apiole as its main component; PP-m type, with myristicin as its main component; PP-e type, with elemicin as main component; PP-as type, with asarone as main component). Based on the biosynthetic pathways analysis, we also found that the formation of the particular chemotype is usually controlled by a single gene or a few genes, and different types have different pharmacological effects. In this paper, the classification under the species P. frutescens, main chemotypes of the volatile oil, and their biogenesis and regulation, pharmacological effect and influence factors are summarized and reviewed.

AIM: To investigate the change of corrected vision and stereo vision in anisometropic patients after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK).METHODS: The clinical data of 84 cases of anisometropic children(84 eyes) were retrospective analyzed.The changes of corrected visual acuity and stereopsis of different gender,age,type of amblyopia in children anisometropic before treatment,after treatment for 3,6mo and 1a were analyzed.The stereoscopic vision correction correlation were analyzed.RESULTS: Corrected Log MAR visual acuity and stereopsis of 84 patients after LASIK surgery treatment for 3mo,and 1a later significantly decreased than before treatment (P<0.05).The corrected Log MAR visual acuity and stereopsis of male and female after treatment for 3,6mo and 1a was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Corrected visual acuity of age <30 group for 3,6mo and 1a was significantly lower than the age ≥30 group (P<0.05).After 3,6mo and 1a stereo vision with hyperopic anisometropia amblyopia decreased more than that with myopic anisometropia amblyopia(P<0.05),but corrected Log MAR visual acuity after treatment was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).Improved correctted vision of anisometropic patients after LASIK surgery had no connection with the decrease of stereo vision(P>0.05).CONCLUSION: LASIK surgery can improve visual acuity in patients with anisometropia amblyopia,but the course of treatment of visual acuity and stereopsis affected by age and type of amblyopia.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the antibacterial activity and mechanism of fusidic acid combined with aztreonam on 12 clinical isolates of carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA). METHODS: Broth dilution method was used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) of the fusidic acid and aztreonam combination.The MIC of two drugs combination were measured by the checkerboard method and partial inhibitory concentration index (FIC) was calculated to determine the combined effect.The synergistic effect of two drugs was assessed by the disk diffusion susceptibility test and the time-killing curves.Extracellular enzyme activity assay was used to detect the strains extracellular enzyme activity changes of fusidic acid alone and combined with aztreonam. The probable mechanism of the combined use of two drugs was discussed. RESULTS: Fusidic acid and aztreonam combination displayed synergistic and additive activity on 61.54% and 38.46% isolates, no antagonism activity was observed.The bacteriostasis circle was obviously increased in two drugs combination, of which 41.67% of the strains were changed from drug resistance to sensitive. The time-killing curves showed that the combined of two drugs had bactericidal effect on the isolate PA 320.Extracellular aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity were all increased in a significant difference with the combination of two drugs. CONCLUSION: Fusidic acid combined with aztreonam on CRPA is showed synergistic and additive activity in vitro. The mechanism of two drugs in combination may concern with aztreonam help the fusidic acid to overcome the natural hydrophobic antibiotic permeability barriers of gram-negative bacteria.

Aim The purpose of this study was to compare the differential expression of 15-lipoxygenase isoenzymes in the pulmonary arteries between normoxia and hypoxia and to explore their roles in the formation of hypoxic pulmomary vasoconstriction. Objective To analyze the CT findings of tuberculous lymphadenitis in parotid gland, so as to improve the diagnostic accuracy of tuberculosis of parotid gland. Methods Nine cases with tuberculous lymphadenitis in parotid gland confirmed by surgical pathology and acid-fast bacilli after preoperative spiral CT plain scan and two phases dynamic enhancement scan were retrospectively analyzed.Imaging findings of CT were reviewed and compared with surgical pathology. Results Seven of the 9 cases of tuberculosis of the parotid gland occurred in the left side, and 2 in the right side, and superficial lobe involvement occurred in 8 cases and deep lobe in 1 ease. The lesion was classified as tumour type (8 cases)and infiltration type (1 case). In tumour type, the number of lesion was from 1 to 4, and the size was from 2.7 to 5.3 cm in diameter. One case of infiltration type measured 3.4 cm in diameter. On CT plain scan,the lesions showed homogeneous slight high-density with regular edge in 5 cases and irregular low-density in 4 cases, and 2 of them with partly blurred edge. On CT enhanced scan, uniform moderate enhancement was seen in 3 cases, circular enhancement in 4 cases, inhomogeneous enhancement in 1 case, and lace-like enhancement in 1 case. Local infiltration occurred in 6 cases. Lymphadenovarix in the same side of lesion occurred in 2 cases. Conclusion CT findings of tuberculous lymphadenitis in parotid gland present diversification, which correlate well with pathological changes. Understanding of characteristic CT findings of tuberculous lymphadenitis in parotid gland is helpful for differential diagnosis, but final diagnosis still depends on pathology and acid-fast baeilli.
