OBJECTIVE To understand the susceptibility to antituberculous agents for patients with primary and acquired drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. METHODS M. tuberculosis positive sputum samples were collected from Jun to Dec 2006. Ameliorative Lowenstein-Jensen culture medium was used to detect bacillus-positive specimen of pulmonary tuberculosis by typing using PNB and TCH. Totally 217 samples were confirmedtobe positive by culturing. Drug susceptibility test against streptomycin (SM),isoniazid (INH),rifampicin (RFP) and ethambutol (EMB) was conducted. RESULTS The total drug resistance rate was 65.90%,the initial drug resistance rate was 39.81% and the initial multi-drug resistance rate was 16.67% ;the acquired drug resistance rate was 91.74%,and the acquired multi-drug resistance rate was 74.31%. The main causes of drug resistance were irregularit of treatment at beginning and preterm stop of the freatment course by patients own selves,which accounted for 71.6%. CONCLUSIONS The drug resistance of M. tuberculosis is caused by irregular treatment,so the key to prevent and control drug resistance is rational and whole-course treatment.

Three neo-clerodane were isolated from the aerial parts of Salvia farinacea Benth., and were purified by various technologies, including silica gel, ODS, sephadex LH-20, and their structures were identified by modern spectroscopy techniques as 2β-hydroxy-7,8-dehydrobacchotricuneatin A (1), dugesin C (2), and tonalensin (3). Compound 1 was a new diterpenoid, and compounds 2 and 3 were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation on Joubert syndrome. Methods 2 infants with Joubert syndrome were reviewed. Results After the treatment of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation for 4~6 months, the clinical symptoms of these 2 cases improved, and the scores of Gross Motor Function Measure increased. Conclusion Acupuncture combined with rehabilitation is effective on Joubert syndrome.

Objective To define whether correlation exists between the enlargement of lateral ventricles and motor development delay. Methods Motor development was assessed with Peabody Developmental Motor Scale (PDMS) in 28 children with cerebral palsy. Correlation between computerized tomography (CT) findings of enlargement of lateral ventricles (ventricle index,body index,width index and frontal horn index) and motor quotients of PDMS(GMQ,FMQ and TMQ) was analyzed. OBJECTIVE To inspect and analyze the cleaning efficacy on surgical instrument after cleaning cycle and maintenance procedures.METHODS The medical instrument was collected from each department based on the weekly usages.Focus on the timing of the cleaning after use and the efficacy of the cleaning methods.Use naked eyes to inspect the cleanness of the medical instrument after each cleaning cycle.RESULTS The combination of the machine washing and manual washing immediately after the surgical procedures provided better cleaning efficacy.It was more difficult to clean the instrument once the dried bio-burden on it or after soaking in the chlorine disinfectant.CONCLUSIONS The correct cleaning methods and instrument care procedures guarantee the cleaning efficacy,disinfections,and the sterilization for the medical instrument.

Objective To analyze the safety and clinical efficacy of three types stents of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) in treatment of cirrhosis with portal hypertension.Methods Totally 1 086 patients with cirrhotic portal hypertension underwent TIPS for the first time.All patients were divided into bare stent group (group A),covered stent-group (group B) and combined stents group (group C).The rates of symptom improvement,shunt insufficiency,re bleeding,survival and major complications in 2 years after TIPS were analyzed and compared.Results Totally 1 690 stents were placed in 1 086 patients.The overall technical success rate was 100％;2.53％ (10/396) emergency patients dead due to uncontrolled gastrointestinal bleeding,and 2.78％ (11/396) emergency patients,0.84％ (5/593) bleeding stopped patients dead with acute liver funtional failure.In 2-year following-up,the overall survival rate of group A,group B,group C were 83.78％ (186/222),88.36％ (281/318),96.34％ (526/546),and the difference was statistical significant (x2=4.15,P=0.04).The shunt insufficiency rates of group A,group B,group C were 39.64％ (88/222),22.33％ (71/ 318),11.17％ (61/546),and the difference was statistical significant (x2 =4.15,P=0.04),The rates of rebleeding of group A,group B,group C were 31.53％ (70/222),16.89％ (54/318),7.14％ (39/546),and the difference was statis tical significant (x2 =9.91,P=0.01).The rates of hepatic encephalopathy of group A,group B,group C were 21.62％ (48/222),22.96％ (73/318),19.23％ (105/546),and the difference had no statistical significant (x2 =1.00,P=0.06).Conclusion TIPS is an effective way to relieve portal hypertension and complications in patients with cirrhosis.The safety and clinical efficacy can be improved by 8 mm shunt with double stent technique.
