Journal of Forensic Medicine 2015;31(1):44-47
Informed consent right is not just for basic ethical consideration, but is important for protecting patient's right by law, which is expressed through informed consent contract. The appraised individuals of forensic clinical examination have the similar legal status as the patients in medical system. However, the law does not require informed consent right for the appraised individuals. I recommend giving certain informed consent right to the appraised individuals in the forensic clinical examination. Under the contracted relationship with the institution, the appraised individuals could participate in the examination process, know the necessary information, and make a selected consent on the examination results, which can assure the justice and fairness of judicial examination procedure.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2016;32(8):1529-1533
ObjectiveTo investigate the long-term therapeutic effect of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) in patients with intractable cirrhotic ascites and prognostic factors. MethodsA retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of 57 patients with intractable cirrhotic ascites who were received TIPS in our hospital from January 2009 to June 2014. Regular telephone follow-up was performed in all patients. Laboratory testing results and abdominal ultrasound and CT findings were examined. The improvement in ascites and survival were evaluated. The χ2 test was applied for comparison of categorical data between groups. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the cumulative probability of survival and other cumulative probabilities, the log-rank test was used for survival difference analysis, the Cox regression model was used to analyze prognostic factors, and the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC) and the area under the curve(AUC) were used to determine the optimal cut-off values of prognostic factors. ResultsThe 1-year ascites remission rate after TIPS was 93%, and the 1- and 2-year survival rates were 60% and 43%, respectively. The multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that Child-Pugh score (HR=268, 95%CI: 1.009-1.594, P=0.042) and urea nitrogen (HR=1.143, 95%CI: 1034-1.264, P=0.009,) were predictive factors for 1-year survival rate after TIPS in patients with intractable cirrhotic ascites. The area under the ROC curve of Child-Pugh score was 0.699 (P=0011, 95%CI: 0.558-0.840), and the optimal cut-off value of Child-Pugh score was 8, with a sensitivity of 75% and a specificity of 67%. The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis demonstrated that the 1-year survival rates of patients with Child-Pugh scores of ≤8 and >8 were 82% and 38%, respectively (χ2=10.888, P=0.001). ConclusionTIPS is safe and effective in the treatment of intractable ascites, and Child-Pugh score ≤8 is a predictive factor for 1-year survival rate in such patients.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between abdominal fat volume and obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome in obesity people.
METHODSFrom July 2009 to July 2010, 50 patients with BMI > 25 were prospectively selected for study from the patients who complained of snoring in the Respiratory department. The patients were divided into OSAHS group and non-OSAHS group according to the result of sleep apnea monitoring. All the patients also received full abdominal CT and the whole abdominal fat volume was measured by 3-D CT reconstruction system. SPSS 13.0 was used for statistical analysis.
RESULTSThe whole abdominal fat volume in the two groups was analyzed by T- test, which was significantly different between the two groups (P < 0.01). It showed that there was a statistical relationship between OSAHS and abdominal fat in obesity people.
CONCLUSIONIn obesity people, OSAHS has a close relationship with abdominal fat volume. The abdominal fat volume is markedly higher in OSAHS patients than that in non-OSAHS people.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the types of female college students' personality-based contraception behavior. METHOD: A Q-methodology was used to identify factors in female college students' personality-based contraception behavior. The 32 selected Q-sample from each of 28 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9 point scale. The collected data was analyzed using a QUANL PC program. RESULT: Three types of contraception behavior of female college students were identified. Type I is corporate responsibility, Type II is self-protection type, Type III is perceived risk of pregnancy. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that sexual health education for contraception behavior promotion should focus characteristics influencing on contraception attitudes. Also, efficient contraception should be educated by continuous qualitative research based on contraceptive experiences of college students.
