1.Interaction of Virus With the Interferon System
China Biotechnology 2006;0(04):-
Interferons are potent cytokines with antiviral activity that have been founded earliest. Different types of interferons have similar bioactivity, Such as anti-viruses activity, anti-tumor activity and immune modulation. They are induced by virus infection and trigger the host defense by different mechanisms. Firstly, IFNs directly induce the expression of effector proteins with antiviral activity, thus establishing a first line of defense. Secondly, they help to shape adaptive immunity, leading to long-lasting protection. Due to the key position of IFNs in antiviral defense, viruses have evolved effective countermeasures in order to successfully invade the host. By expressing so-called IFN antagonists, viruses interfere with either IFN induction, IFN signaling, or the action of IFN effector proteins.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) identified as an effective treatment for ultimate knee joint disease can effectively relieve pain, correct deformity, improve knee function and enhance the quality of life of patients. Patient satisfaction has been increasingly considered as an important factor in evaluating the success of primary TKA. Anterior knee pain that usually appears in the region of the anterior knee is a recognized complaint for primary TKA and has a strong impact on the improvement of knee function and patient satisfaction of primary TKA. Accordingly, the relief of anterior knee pain has become one of the primary goals of primary TKA. At present, soft tissue lesions around the patellar caused by patellar maltracking and the elevation of internal pressure in subchondral bone because of the high contact stress of patellofemoral joint are both considered as the mechanism of anterior knee pain. For the past few years,on increasing number of studies have focused on the prevention of anterior knee pain following primary TKA. However, none of the past treatment such as patellar resurfacing, patellar denervation without patellar resurfacing or a mobile-bearing prosthesis has a good and affirmative effect on it. The prevention and treatment of anterior knee pain following primary TKA still is a difficult solved problem. To address this problem, we need further researches about the cause of anterior knee pain, knee joint prosthesis and biomechanics of patellofemoral joint, as well as lots of randomized controlled trials.

AIM:To observe the expression of angiogenesis factors in the myocardial tissue of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats .METHODS:The diabetic rat model was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin .After 12 weeks, the cardiac function was measured by MPA cardiac function analysis system .The myocardial collagen volume fraction ( CVF) was assessed by Masson staining .The capillary vessels was quantified as the ratio of capillary to myocyte (C/M) using CD31 immunostaining. The expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), angiopoietin ( Ang)-1, endostatin and Ang-2 were observed by Western blotting .RESULTS:Compared with normal control group , the left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) was evidently increased (P<0.01), but left ventricular pressure rise maximum rate (+dp/dtmax), left ventricular pressure decrease maximum rate (-dp/dtmax) and the ratio of capillary/myo-cyte (C/M) were significantly decreased (P<0.05).The CVF and the expression level of endostatin were significantly increased, whereas the expression levels of VEGF and Ang-1 evidently decreased (both P<0.05) in diabetic rats.Howev-er, no marked difference in the expression of Ang-2 between the 2 groups was observed (P>0.05).CONCLUSION:Im-balances between the angiogenic factors (VEGF and Ang-1) and anti-angiogenic factors (endostatin) may play an impor-tant role in the pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy .

AIM: To investigate the sequence expression o f CD158 molecule after tacrolimus (FK506), mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) combined with methylprednisone (MP) treatment for refractory chronic graft-versus-host di seases (cGVHD). METHODS: The efficacy and the side effect were observed in 6 chi ld patients with extensive cGVHD after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transp lantation treated with the combination of FK506, MMF and MP, meanwhile the chang es of the CD158 expressions on T lymphocytes and NK cells in peripheral blood be fore and after treatment were observed. RESULTS: The expression of CD4+CD158a+ and CD4+CD158b+ were very low before and after transplantation and treatment, there was no stati stical significance. The expression of CD3+CD158b+ and CD3+CD8+CD158b + were 4.97%?2.36% and 4.58%?2.90% respectively in five patients with acut e GVHD, and there was statistical significance compared with that of before-tran splantation (P

Objective:To evaluate the impact of health education intervention on promoting rural residents to join new rural cooperative medical system(NCMS)and their intention of joining NCMS based on Health Belief Model in project areas in Henan and Jilin Provinces.Methods:Quasi-experiment study was used to evaluate intervention impact.Following the evidence-based approach, according to needs assessment,a half-year health education intervention was implemented among farmers in the experimental counties in Henan and Jilin Provinces respectively.A questionnaire survey was conducted among farmers in intervention and control counties before and after intervention, and intervention impact was evaluated by comparing the indicators' changes in intervention and control counties. Results:After health education intervention, the knowledge level of farmers in two intervention counties increased by 29.0% and 37.8% respectively, their scores of perceived threatens of health risk and perceived barriers of joining NCMS among the respondents were decreased.Meanwhile, their score of perceived benefit of joining NCMS were increased, and the rate of willingness to join NCMS increased remarkably in both intervention counties. Conclusion:Health education was effective and helpful in increasing farmer's knowledge, understanding and cognitive level of NCMS,and it should play an important role for the sustainable development of NCMS.

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
Toxic effects of L7 lyophilized powder of extracellular active components (L7-LPEAC), extracted from the Algae-lysing bacteria L7, on Chlorella pyrenoidosa were studied according to the changes of effective photosynthesis rate (EPR), the protein content, the chlorophyll a content and the MDA content of algae. The results showed that the growth of alga was promoted at low concentrations of L7-LPEAC (0.80 g/L, 1.25 g/L). The 96 h-EC50 and 120 h-EC50 upon Chlorella pyrenoidosa are 5.75 g/L and 2.55 g/L, respec tively. The chlorophyll a content increased firstly and then decreased at high concentrations of L7-LPEAC (≥2 g/L), so did the protein content. Compared with the control group, there is a significant statistics diff erence (P
