China Pharmacist 2017;20(12):2173-2176
Objective:To establish a GC-MS method for determing 19 organochlorine pesticide residues in sargassum fusiforme. Methods:Nineteen organochlorine pesticide residues were simultaneously determined by GC-MS, and the established method was vali-dated. The HP-5 gas chromatography column (30 m × 0. 25 mm,0. 25 μm) was used. The column temperature was programming in-creased with initial temperature of 70℃, maintaining for 1min, then raising to 180℃ with a rate of 15℃·min-1 ,and then raised to 280℃ with a rate of 4℃·min-1 to keep 7min. The inlet temperature was 240℃. The MS detector was used with EI source at 230℃, and analysis mode was multiple reaction monitoring. Results:Sargassum fusiforme was analyzed. The separation degree of the standard and samples met the requirements. The recoveries of the organochlorine pesticides were 72%-127% except for hexachlorobenzene, and the relative standard deviation also met the requirements. The experimental results showed that the 19 organochlorine pesticides were not detected out in sargassum fusiforme. Conclusion: The method provides the technical parameters for the determination of organo-chlorine pesticide residues in sargassum fusiforme.

6.Relationship between near work and the development of myopia in adolescents
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2021;39(6):563-567
Juvenile myopia has become a serious public health problem in China, presenting rapidly increasing incidence and younger onset age.Refractive eye development is controlled by both genetic and environmental factors. In recent years, near work among environmental factors has become a hotspot in myopia risk factors research. However, the association between near work and myopia still remains controversial. In this article, the epidemiological studies on the relationship between near work content, total time spent on near work, intensity of near work and myopia, and its possible mechanisms (including near-work-induced transient myopia, accommodative lag and scleral hypoxia) were summarized, so as to provide reference for myopia epidemiology and etiology.

BACKGROUND:Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head is a refractory disease in the field of orthopedics. There is no definitive idea to fully explain its pathogenesis. With the increased research on the active ingredients of Panax notoginseng interfering with the signaling pathways related to various diseases, the active ingredients of Panax notoginseng that treat steroid-induced necrosis of the femoral head via the regulation of relevant signaling pathways have gradually become a hot research topic. OBJECTIVE:To systematically summarize the literature on the pathological mechanism of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head and the regulation of signaling pathways by the active ingredients of Panax notoginseng in recent years, thereby providing a reference for the follow-up study on the active ingredients of Panax notoginseng in the treatment of this disease. METHODS:CNKI,WanFang, and PubMed were searched for relevant literature with the key words of"glucocorticoid,steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head, pathological mechanism, signaling pathway,Panax notoginseng, active ingredient"in Chinese and English.Documents related to the pathological mechanism of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head as well as related to the intervention of active ingredients of Panax notoginseng on the signaling pathway of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head were retrieved.A total of 63 documents were finally included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The main ingredients of Panax notoginseng include Panax notoginseng saponins, ginsenoside,Panax notoginseng saponins, quercetin, kaempferol, etc.Panax notoginseng saponins, ginsenoside Rb1 and quercetin can promote bone repair and angiogenesis by acting on the transforming growth factor-β/bone morphogenetic protein pathway.Panax notoginseng saponins, ginsenoside CK and kaempferol can promote osteogenic differentiation and lipid metabolism by acting on the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.Panax notoginseng saponins and Panax notoginseng saponins R1/R2 act on the MAPK pathway to inhibit osteoclastogenesis and promote bone repair.Panax notoginseng saponins, ginsenoside Rb2 and quercetin can inhibit osteoclast proliferation and promote osteoblastic differentiation by acting on the RANKL/RANK/OPG pathway.Panax notoginseng saponins, quercetin and kaempferol can repair vascular injury and promote osteogenesis by acting on the hypoxia-inducible factor-1α pathway.Panax notoginseng saponins R1,quercetin combined with hydroxyapatite nanoparticles,Panax notoginseng saponins combined with polyethylene-L-lactic acid and other biomaterials have good research prospects in the treatment of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head. The active ingredients of Panax notoginseng can regulate the signaling pathways related to steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head through various mechanisms, and play an active intervention role in the disease. However, the depth and breadth of relevant research are insufficient at present, and the future research should be based on the existing mechanism to explore the specific mechanism of Panax notoginseng regulating different pathways and the interaction between pathways, which will be beneficial to the multi-development of the active ingredients of Panax notoginseng in the treatment of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head.

Objective To investigate the antimicrobial resistance profile of the clinical isolates collected from selected hospitals across China. Methods Twenty-nine general hospitals and five children's hospitals were involved in this program. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was carried out according to a unified protocol using Kirby-Bauer method or automated systems. Results were interpreted according to CLSI 2017 breakpoints. Results A total of 190 610 clinical isolates were collected from January to December 2017, of which gram negative organisms accounted for 70.8% (134 951/190 610) and gram positive cocci 29.2% (55 649/190 610). The prevalence of methicillin-resistant strains was 35.3% in S. aureus (MRSA) and 80.3% in coagulase negative Staphylococcus (MRCNS) on average. MR strains showed much higher resistance rates to most of the other antimicrobial agents than MS strains. However, 91.6% of MRSA strains were still susceptible to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, while 86.2% of MRCNS strains were susceptible to rifampin. No staphylococcal strains were found resistant to vancomycin. E. faecalis strains showed much lower resistance rates to most of the drugs tested (except chloramphenicol) than E. faecium. Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) was identified in both E. faecalis and E. faecium. The identified VRE strains were mainly vanA, vanB or vanM type based on phenotype or genotype. The proportion of PSSP or PRSP strains in the non-meningitis S.pneumoniae strains isolated from children decreased but the proportion of PISP strains increased when compared to the data of 2016. Enterobacteriaceae strains were still highly susceptible to carbapenems. Overall, less than 10% of these strains (excluding Klebsiella spp.) were resistant to carbapenems. The prevalence of imipenem-resistant K. pneumoniae increased from 3.0% in 2005 to 20.9% in 2017, and meropenem-resistant K. pneumoniae increased from 2.9% in 2005 to 24.0% in 2017, more than 8-fold increase. About 66.7% and 69.3% of Acinetobacter (A. baumannii accounts for 91.5%) strains were resistant to imipenem and meropenem, respectively. Compared with the data of year 2016, P. aeruginosa strains showed decreasing resistance rate to carbapenems. Conclusions Bacterial resistance is still on the rise. It is necessary to strengthen hospital infection control and stewardship of antimicrobial agents. The communication between laboratorians and clinicians should be further improved in addition to surveillance of bacterial resistance.

Chinese Journal of Oncology 2017;39(4):315-320
Objective:
The National Central Cancer Registry (NCCR) collected esophageal data of local cancer registries in 2013 to estimate the incidence and mortality in China.
Methods:
Data submitted from 347 registries were evaluated and 255 registries' data are qualified by NCCR. Data of incidence and mortality were stratified with areas (urban/rural), gender and age group. Chinese population census in 2000 and Segi's population were used for age-standardized incidence/mortality.
Results:
All of 255 cancer registries covered a total of 226 494 490 population (111 595 772 in urban areas and 114 898 718 in rural areas). The morphology verified cases (MV%) of esophageal cancer accounted for 75.51% and 1.64% of incident cases were identified through death certifications only (DCO%) with mortality to incidence ratio of 0.75. The estimates of new esophageal cancer cases and deaths were 277 thousand and 206 thousand in China, respectively. The crude incidence rate of esophageal cancer in Chinese cancer registration areas was 20.35/105 (28.15/105 in male, 12.15/105 in female), age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population (ASIRC) and by world standard population were 13.64/105 and 13.82/105 with the cumulative incidence rate (0-74 age years old) of 1.77%. The esophageal cancer incidence and ASIRC were 13.38/105 and 8.74/105 in urban areas whereas in rural areas, they were 28.44/105 and 19.56/105, respectively. In rural areas, the crude incidence rate of esophageal cancer was 2.13 times higher than that in urban areas, and after age-standardized it remained 2.24 times higher. The esophageal cancer mortality in Chinese cancer registration areas was 15.17/105 (20.86/105 in male and 9.20/105 in female), age-standardized mortality by Chinese standard population (ASMRC) and by world standard population were 9.95/105 and 9.98/105, with the cumulative mortality rate (0-74 age years old) of 1.20%. The esophageal cancer mortality and ASMRC were 10.12/105 and 6.46/105 in urban areas, whereas in rural areas, they were 21.05/105 and 14.16/105, respectively. In rural areas, the esophageal cancer mortality and ASMRC were 2.08 and 2.19 times higher than those in urban areas. Esophageal cancer was the sixth common cancer and the fourth leading causes of cancer death, accounting for about 7.52% of all cancer cases and 9.26% of all cancer deaths.
Conclusions
Esophageal cancer is one of the most common cancers in China. Screening and early detection are important to reduce the incidence and mortality.
