Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of activated carbon nanoparticles for guiding lymphadenectomy in advanc-ing rectal cancer. Methods:Eighty rectal cancer patients who underwent laparoscopic curative resection for rectal cancer were divided into two groups:control group (40 cases) and experiment group (40 cases). The experiment group received carbon nanoparticle-labeled lymph nodes in surgery. The number of lymph nodes, lymph nodes≤5 mm in size, and positive lymph nodes, as well as the side effect of the procedure, were analyzed. Results:No complications were observed in the experiment group. The experiment group showed sig-nificantly higher values (P<0.05) than the control group for average number of lymph nodes (25.5 ± 8.78 vs. 16.05 ± 4.84), lymph nodes≤5mm in size (22.6 ± 8.25 vs. 13.65 ± 4.62), and positive lymph nodes (3.13 ± 4.14 vs. 1.35 ± 2.06). During operation, two dyed lymph nodes in two cases were found at the roof of the inferior mesenteric artery and along the side of the internal iliac artery. Dissec-tion was extended for these patients and the dyed lymph nodes were confirmed to be positive. Conclusion:Local injection of activated carbon nanoparticles around the tumor during surgical exploration was an effective, secure, and easy approach for guiding lymphade-nectomy in rectal cancer patients.

Background:
Pseudorabies (PR), caused by the pseudorabies virus (PRV), is an endemic disease in some regions of China. Although there are many reports on epidemiological investigations into pseudorabies, information on PRV gI antibody dynamics in one pig farm is sparse.
Objectives:
To diagnose PR and analyze the course of PR eradication in one pig farm.
Methods:
Ten brains and 1,513 serum samples from different groups of pigs in a pig farm were collected to detect PRV gE gene and PRV gI antibody presence using real-time polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively.
Results:
The July 2015 results indicated that almost all brain samples were PRV gE gene positive, but PRV gI antibody results in the serum samples of the same piglets were all negative. In the boar herd, from October 2015 to July 2018 three positive individuals were culled in October 2015, and the negative status of the remaining boars was maintained in the following tests. In the sow herd, the PRV gI antibody positive rate was always more than 70% from October 2015 to October 2017; however, it decreased to 27% in January 2018 but increased to 40% and 52% in April and July 2018, respectively. The PRV gI antibody positive rate in 100-day pigs markedly decreased in October 2016 and was maintained at less than 30% in the following tests. For 150-day pigs, the PRV gI antibody positive rate decreased notably to 10% in April 2017 and maintained a negative status from July 2017. The positive trend of PRV gI antibody with an increase in pig age remarkably decreased in three tests in 2018.
Conclusions
The results indicate that serological testing is not sensitive in the early stage of a PRV infection and that gilt introduction is a risk factor for a PRV-negative pig farm. The data on PRV gI antibody dynamics can provide reference information for pig farms wanting to eradicate PR.

Objective:To explore the effect of humanistic care combined with Morita therapy on anxiety state of hemodialysis patients. Methods:A self-controlled study was conducted on 54 patients with end-stage renal disease and anxiety who received maintenance hemodialysis in China-Japan Friendship Hospital from August 2020 to August 2022. All patients were treated with humanistic care nursing and Morita therapy for one month. The Self Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) scores of the patients before and after the intervention were compaired. The comparison of quantitative data was conducted by paired t-test, and the comparison of qualitative data was conducted by χ2 test. The correlation between different factors and anxiety was analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results:Among the 54 patients, there were 26 males and 28 females, aged (61.8±16.3) years (ranging from 29 to 88 years). The SAS score after the intervention (44.0±11.1) was lower than that before the intervention (51.9±8.5) ( t=5.395, P<0.001). The anxiety of patients was related to their age ( r=0.305), employment status ( r=0.270) and marital status ( r=0.397) (all P<0.05). The satisfaction of patients with care measures and nursing before and after the intervention was 45.6% and 87.7%, respectively ( χ2=5.720, P<0.05). Conclusion:After receiving combined humanistic care nursing and Morita therapy, patients in a state of anxiety could experience significant psychological improvement, which is conducive to the successful completion of hemodialysis treatment and enhances the quality of life for patients.

Objective To explore the CTV to PTV external expansion boundary and the effect of the dose of normal lung tissue under different fixed modes by a comparative analysis of combined body position and thermoplastic film fixed set-up error of radiation therapy for lung cancer. Methods From October 2016 to March 2018, the patients who received chest radiology at the Tangshan people's hospital were enrolled as subjects retrospectively divided into two groups, including 50 patients with lung cancer radiotherapy with combined body position fixation, and 40 patients with lung cancer with thermoplastic film fixation. The two groups of patients drew the target areas in accordance with the unified standard, and the set-up error of left and right, up and down, front and rear ( x, y, z axis) were recorded respectively after 1 time/week cone CT( CBCT) matched with the planned CT image and analyzed by t test. According to the MPTV =2. 5Σ+0. 7δ, CTV to PTV external expansion boundary in the combined body position group were calculated. And the V5、V20 and V30 of two groups of patients were calculated and analyzed by TPS system. Results The set-up error of the combined body position group and thermoplastic film group were respectively (1. 00 ± 0. 58) mm and (3. 28 ± 0. 43) mm on the x axis, (1. 42 ± 0. 28) mm on the y axis and (4. 03 ± 0. 41) mm, (1. 06 ± 0. 44) mm and (3. 18 ± 0. 34) mm on the z axis. The set-up errors of the two groups were statistically significant on x, y and z axis( t= -20. 740, -35. 596, -25. 015,P<0. 05). There was no significant difference in set-up errors between the central and peripheral lung cancer patients and between left and right lung cancer patients(P>0. 05). Through the MPTV =2. 5Σ+0. 7δ, CTV to PTV external expansion boundary in the combined body position fixation group was 2. 906 , 3. 746 and 2. 958 mm on x, y and z axis respectively. The comparison between group A and B showed that the mean values of V5 , V20 and V30 in group B were reduced by 1. 5%, 3. 1% and 4. 8% respectively compared with group A. Conclusions The combined body position technique can improve the accuracy of lung cancer patients after radiation therapy, and further reduce the boundary of CTV to PTV, which is of certain value to reduce the occurrence of radiation pneumonitis.

Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) has been only reported to prevent type 1 diabetic nephropathy (DN) in the streptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) mouse model. However, the FVB (Cg)-Tg (Cryaa-Tag, Ins2-CALM1) 26OVE/PneJ (OVE26) transgenic mouse is a widely recommended mouse model to recapture the most important features of T1DM nephropathy that often occurs in diabetic patients. In addition, most previous studies focused on exploring the preventive effect of FGF21 on the development of DN. However, in clinic, development of therapeutic strategy has much more realistic value compared with preventive strategy since the onset time of DN is difficult to be accurately predicted. Therefore, in the present study OVE26 mice were used to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of FGF21 on DN. Four-month-old female OVE26 mice were intraperitoneally treated with recombinant FGF21 at a dose of 100 µg/kg/day for 3 months. The diabetic and non-diabetic control mice were treated with phosphate-buffered saline at the same volume. Renal functions, pathological changes, inflammation, apoptosis, oxidative stress and fibrosis were examined in mice of all groups. The results showed that severe renal dysfunction, morphological changes, inflammation, apoptosis, and fibrosis were observed in OVE26 mice. However, all the renal abnormalities above in OVE26 mice were significantly attenuated by 3-month FGF21 treatment associated with improvement of renal adenosine 5′-monophosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activity and sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) expression. Therefore, this study demonstrated that FGF21 might exert therapeutic effects on DN through AMPK-SIRT1 pathway.
