Objective To prevent early closure of growth plate and developmental deformities of limbs by allografts of cultured cartilages into growth plate defects of rabbits. Methods Chondrocytes isolated from articular cartilage of 1-month rabbits formed cartilage after cultivation in centrifuge tubes. The cartilages cultured for two weeks were implanted into growth plate defects of proximal tibiae of 6-weeks rabbits. At 4th and 16th weeks, X-ray, histologic and immunohistochemical examination were performed. Results The tibiae had no marked deformities after 4 weeks of operation. Histologic examinations showed that the defects were filled with cartilage. Immunohistochemical results of type Ⅱ collagen were positive. The tibiae with allografts of cultured cartilages had no evident deformities after 16 weeks of operation. Histologic examination showed nearly closure of growth plates. On the contrary, the tibiae on control side formed severe deformities and growth plate were closed. Conclusion Allograft of cultured cartilages into growth plate defects may replace lost growth plate tissues, maintain normal growth of limbs and prevent developmental deformity.

Comorbidity, which can affect the treatment and prognosis of its disease, has gradually caught attention from both at home and abroad. Although chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) mainly involved lung tissues, it may also cause the systemic (or extra-pulmonary) adverse effects. Many types of comorbidities existed in COPD. This article summarized the prevalence, risk factors and pathogenesis of comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, anxiety and depression, lung cancer, infection, metabolic syndrome and diabetes mellitus. It also con-ducted related studies on the diagnosis and treatment status and current problems of COPD comorbidities, which may provide evidences for COPD outcome evaluation.

Objective To assess the diagnostic value of combining aortic dissection detection risk score (ADDRS)with D-dimer in patients with suspected acute aortic dissection(AAD). Methods We retrospectively identified 525 patients with chest pain and with calculated ADDRS and available D-dimer on admission between January 2015 and December 2016. ADDRS ≤1 was defined as ′low probability′ and that >1 as ′high probability′. Results AAD were diagnosed in 106(20.2%)patients. In patients with ADDRS of 0,1 case of AAD was identi-fied and in those with ADDRS of 1,40 were identified while in 76 patients with ADDRS of 2 and 3,71 cases of AAD were identified. D-dimer with threshold of 0.5 mg/L had a negative predictive value of 100%and a specificity of 76.6% in patients with ADDRS of 0. In patients with ADDRS of 1,D-dimer had a negative predictive value of 98.6%. D-dimer showed a negative predictive value of 99.6% and a positive predictive value of 22.3% in patients with low probability. Conclusions High ADDRS benefits confirming AAD. Low ADDRS combined with negative D-dimer is safe and efficient for ruling out AAD ,while low ADDRS with positive D-dimer needs further aortic imaging.

Objective To analyze the treatment effect of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in acute pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) with thrombolytic and anticoagulant therapy. Methods Post hoc analysis of data from a prospective multicenter randomized control thrombolytic and anticoagulant trial of 516 patients with acute symptomatic PTE from June 2002 to December 2004. Thrombolytic therapy was performed in patients with massive and sub-massive PTE and anticoagulant therapy was given in patients with non-massive PTE. A total of 362 patients that accepted compression uhrasonography (CUS) before and 14 days after treatment constituted this study. Results The ratio of detected DVT by CUS 14 days after treatment was reduction than that before treatment ( x2 = 22. 667, P < 0. 001 ), but 11.6% patients had new or recurrent DVT. The rates of recanalization in thrombolysis group and anticoagulant group were 56. 5% and 47. 8% respectively (x2 = 1. 435 ,P =0. 231 ). The results after three months follow up showed not recovery in 30. 4% DVT patients and new or recurrent DVT in 10. 4% patients. Conclusions The normalization rate of DVT is low during 14 days treatment, and recurrence rate is high. Thrombolysis has no better rate of recanalization than anticoagulant. The prognosis of DVT hasn't improved significantly during short term treatment.
