AIM: To determine astragaloside Ⅳ in Qixiu Granule (Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, etc.) by HPLC ELSD. METHODS: HPLC ELSD was used in the quantitative analysis by using Alltima C 18 chromatography column and acetonitril water (34∶66) as a mobile phase. The flow rate of mobile phase was 1mL?min -1 . The tube temperature of the detector was 100?C. The flow rate of pure air was 2.7L?min -1 . RESULTS: The regressione quation was Y=-4.40?105+2.07?105X, r=0.9992 (3.73~13.59?g). The average recovery of astragaloside Ⅳ was 100.73%, RSD was 3.97%. CONCLUSION: The method is simple, reliable, accurate and can be regard as the quantity control method of Qixiu Granule.

Hippophae rhamnoides is one of the most representative economy crops for its wide uses of biological diversity and abundance of resource. As the key healthy food development and ecology protection, H. rhamnoides has been developed widely. Meanwhile, the development of H. rhamnoides has obtained great achievements. Nowadays, H. rhamnoides is still a necessary economy crop, while it has great influence on ecology protection. This paper discussed the phytochemistry, pharmacology, clinical application and product development, and propounded some suggestions for future research and economy development to get comprehensive benefit of H. rhamnoides and to serve for well-off society.

To investigate the role of distribution and phylogeny of phenylethanoid glycoside in medicinal plants of Gesneriaceae, five phenylpropanoid glycosides, acteoside, paraboside B, isonuomioside A, paraboside II, and paraboside III were quantitatively determined in 12 species of Gesneriaceae by HPLC. The existence and content of these compounds were analyzed. The results showed that phenylethanoid glycosides were found in the most of those plants, but the kind of phenylethanoid glycosides varied in different species. Acteoside distribute in most of this plant group, paraboside B, isonuomioside A, paraboside II, and paraboside III were rare in those plants. The results of this study support morphological viewpoint that Trib. Trichosporeae is more developmental than Trib. Didymocarpeae.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2008;28(7):602-605
OBJECTIVETo explore the relation of phlegm-stasis syndrome with insulin resistance and monocyte peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-gamma messenger ribonucleic acid (PPARgamma mRNA) expression in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).
METHODSSixty patients with CHD were differentiated into three syndrome types, the non-phlegm non-stasis (NN) type, the phlegm congealing heart vessel (PC) type and the phlegm-stasis cemented (PS) type. Besides, 20 healthy volunteers were selected as the normal control. Levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and fasting insulin (FINS) were determined and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was calculated accordingly. The expression of PPARgamma mRNA in the peripheral monocytes was assessed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
RESULTSLevels of FINS, HOMA-IR and PPAR-gamma mRNA expression in all CHD patients were higher than in the normal control (P <0.01, P < 0.05); comparisons of the three indexes between patients of different syndrome types showed that they were higher in PC type and PS type than in NN type (P < 0.05 or P <0.01), and the difference between PC type and PS type was significant (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONChanges of insulin resistance and PPARgamma mRNA expression in monocytes are possibly one of the mechanisms for the development of phlegm-stasis syndrome in CHD.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;21(11):713-714
Objective To explore a technical modification by transperineal Da- W anorectoplasty (Da WARP) on treating low, intermediate anorectal anomalies(AA) and to evaluate the results of long - term follow up. Methods Forty six cases of AA underwent a Da-W ARP,which involved preservation of the rectal end of the fistula and invagination of the perineal skin flap through the neoanus. The clinical records were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively. Results The median follow - up period was 7 years and 2 months. All of them achieved a good fecal continence exception of 1 patient with intermediate AA and associated anomaly, had fair result. Conclusions The Da - WARP is relatively simple and practical methods for surgical treatment of low, intermediate AA, with good long - term results.

Objective To study the clinical significance and changes of plasma nitric oxide (NO) and cyclic adernosine monophosphate(cAMP)/cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP) ratio in children with asthma. Methods NO,cAMP,cGMP levels and changes of cAMP/cGMP in 40 asthmatic children in acute attack stage and restoration stage and in 23 health children were measured by nitric acid reductase method and radioimmunoassay. Results 1.the amount of NO 3-/NO 2-in the plasma of asthmatic children in acute attack stage was obviously higher than that in restoration stage and in normal control group(P0.05);6.the results of linear correlation analysis showed that there were positive correlations between plasma NO 3-/NO 2- and plasma cGMP levels in acute attack stage (r=0.401 P

Objective To evaluate left ventricular systolic function by real-time three-dimension speckle tracking imaging (RT3D-STI) in coronary artery diseases (CHD) patients,to determine the clinical value of RT3D-STI in CHD.Methods 34 control subjects and 55 patients with CHD by coronary angiography were involved.Left ventricular global longitudinal strain (GLS),left ventricular global circumferential strain (GCS),left ventricular global radial strain (GRS),left ventricular global area strain (GAS) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),etc, was acquired by RT3D-STI,respectively.The parameters by RT3D-STI to diagnose CHD were analyzed. Results Compared with control group,GLS,GCS,GRS and GAS were significantly decreased in CHD group (P < 0.05).The area under receiver operating characteristics (AUC) curve of GLS to diagnose CHD was 91.6%.The cutoff value, the sensitivity and Youden index of GLS were-12.5,90.3 % and 0.612,respectiuely.The cutoff value, the sensitivity and Youden index of GAS were-23.0,95.8% and 0.539,respectiuely.GLS,GAS correlated well with LVEF in CHD group (r =-0.860,r =-0.926).Conclusions GLS is the most sensitivity and GAS is the most specificity in the all of strain parameters.RT3D-STI can early show the changes of left ventricular global systolic function in patients with CHD.
