Objective: To study the difference in tooth profile among Chinese,Caucasian and Japanese with normal occlusion. Methods: The data of the measurments of Chinese,Caucasian and Japanese with normal occlusion were collected from published studies.Crown angulation, crown inclination and crown convex were used in the comparation among the peoples. Results: Tooth profile in Chinese was significantly different from that of Caucasian but was similar to that of Japanese. Conclusion: The orthodontic appliances should be modified when we use the straight wire appliances that is suitable for Caucasian and Japanese.

Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of diphtheria toxin on cochlear structure and auditory function of adult wildtype mice. Methods The auditory-mature wild type C57BL/6J mice 4 weeks old were randomly devided into 50 ng/g group, 100 ng/g group and control group.C57BL/6J mice in the 50 ng/g or 100 ng/g group were injected 50 ng/g or 100 ng/g diphtheria toxin intraperitoneally for one time, respectively, and the control mice were injected equal volume of normal saline for one time. Then we investigated the ABR threshold change and morphological change of inner and outer hair cell and spiral ganglion neuron 7 days after the injection. Results At 7 day post diphtheria toxin injection compared with those of in control group, in the 50 ng/g group, there was no threshold elevation across frequencies(8 kHz ABR threshold was 20.0±3.78 and 20.83±2.04 dB SPL for 50 ng/g and control respectively), and no loss of inner and outer hair cells (for both groups, the HC loss rates were 0.3%~1%) or SGN (the SGN density was 39.45±3.65, 41.03±3.73/105 μm2, in 50 ng/g and control, respectively). However, the 100 ng/g group, compared with those of in control group, the ABR threshold (8 kHz ABR threshold was 63.0±4.47 dB SPL, respectively)was significantly elevated across each frequency(t=19.62,P<0.001), and there was significant loss of outer hair cell (the loss rate of IHC and OHC was 0.5%±0.1%, 10.7%±0.3%, respectively), which was 10% loss in the apical, middle and basal turn(t=42.219,P<0.001).And the loss of spiral ganglion neuron (the SGN density was 25.55±3.66/105 μm2) was 38%, which was significantly different from the control(t=10.985,P<0.001).Conclusion High dose injection of diphtheria toxin can cause loss of outer hair cell and spiral ganglion neuron in wild type auditory-mature C57BL/6J mice.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(2):97-100
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a hereditary disease characterized by the progressive loss of photoreceptor cells. Disease pathology primarily affects rod photoreceptor cells first but light-insensitive cone photoreceptor bodies can survivor longer. Delivered by adeno-associated viral vector or lentiviral vector, expression of microbial-type rhodopsin, channelrhodopsin-2 or archaebacterial halorhodopsin in the survived retinal cells can substitute for the native phototransduction cascade in mouse models of retinitis pigmentosa. It can also restore light sensitivity and activate all retinal cone pathways and drive sophisticated retinal circuit functions. Thus, expression of channelrhodopsins or halorhodopsin might be a potential strategy for the restoration vision of patients with RP.

The variable heavy chain region (VH) genes of 3 untreated patients with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) were cloned and analyzed. The VH family used was VH3-11, VH3-72 and VH3-33. More than 2% difference from the corresponding germline gene was detected in all the 3 obtained potential functional genes (average 16.7). Mutation pattern analysis indicated evidence of antigen selective pressure observed in 1 of 3 cases. Our findings suggested that the tumor cells originate from post-GC cells.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2006;26(6):700-2
This study examined the implication of EMT induced by TGF-beta1 in pancreatic cancer invasion. TGF-beta1 expression was determined in 29 cases of human pancreatic carcinoma (PC) by immunohistochemistry and the results were compared with those of pathological examination. Moreover, the effects of TGF-beta1 on the phenotype and invasion of pancreatic cancer cell line Panc-1 were also investigated. TGF-beta1 was detected in 12 cases (41.4%) of PC. Significant correlation was found between the expression of TGF-beta1 and lymph node involvement (P=0.047) and the depth of invasion (P=0.035). TGF-beta1 obviously promoted EMT of Panc-1 cell lines and their invasion ability was substantially enhanced. TGF-beta1 may promote the malignancy of pancreatic cancer by triggering EMT.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has attracted wide attention due to its unique advantages such as minimal invasiveness, high efficiency and high selectivity, and its ability to induce anti-tumor immune response. However, the treatment process is heavily dependent on the oxygen content of the treatment site, and the widespread oxygen deficiency in malignant tumors severely limits its efficacy. In addition, PDT-mediated oxygen depletion exacerbates tumor hypoxia, which further reduces its therapeutic effect. In recent years, many researches have been devoted to overcoming this problem. This paper summarized various strategies based on tumor hypoxic PDT in recent years, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of these strategies, and analyzing the main challenges and future directions of PDT in the treatment of tumors, so as to provide references for the in-depth study of photodynamic therapy of tumors.

Chinese herbal pieces are a key factor to protecting the quality of the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and it is one of the basic elements of ensuring the quality of TCM and people's usage safety. However, Chinese herbal pieces has massive problem such as adulteration and counterfeit, dyeing and weighting, pesticide residues, heavy metals in excess of the standards, and all the issues are repeated excessive in the clinic treatment. These issues impacted sound development of production, management and use of TCM, but also brings common people hidden trouble for the clinical safety of medication. Protect and improve the quality of the Chinese herbal pieces demand that continue improve quality system, in-depth scientific research, and strengthen self-discipline and other factors. So it is fundamentally to ensure good quality of Chinese herbal pieces with the color, taste and shape by systematic supervision to it from the source, production, management and research, with strengthened implementation and en- forcement of the "3G".
