Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
The DNA fragment RM07 was isolated from halophilic archaea Halobacterium halobium, which can function as promoter not only in halophilic archaea, but also in Escherichia coli as eubacterial promoter. Sequencing analysis indicated that it possessed the typical consensus sequences (-35 and -10) of bacterial gene promoter, which was confirmed by further deletion analysis: With its -35 sequence deleted and -10 sequence left,DNA fragment RM07a nearly cannot initiate transcription; With its both -35 and -10 sequences,RM07b DNA fragment could be active as promoter at a level even higher than RM07. Our research also showed that the promoter function of RM07 fragment in Escherichia coli was under the control of environmental factors, especially its positive correlation with the increasing concentration of sodium chloride. Therefore, RM07 DNA fragment may be potential1 novel promoter source for constructing double-function vectors. It also has special significance in elucidating the issues of the fusing characteristics of archaea and lateral gene transfer between archaea and bacteria.

The experiment was performed at Basic Medical College and First Affiliated Hospital, Zhengzhou University from September 2004 to December 2005. Totally 60 Kunming mice were divided into 5 groups randomly: ①blank control group (n =15) and simple radiation group (n =15). The mice were given 0.2 mL sterile saline by intraperitoneal injection. ②antineoplastic polypeptide from Buthus Martensii Venom (APBMV) group (n =10) and APBMV plus radiation group (n =10) received 0.2 mL APBMV according to prepared concentration by intraperitoneal injection. ③Katsutoxin extract Ⅲ plus radiation group (n =10) received 0.2 mL katsutoxin extract Ⅲ by intraperitoneal injection every other 5.5 hours for 7 days. After 24 hours from the last injection, the mice were endured 60Co g ray radiation (80 cm, 7.5 Gy irradiation dose, 0.27 Gy/min dose rate). Then katsutoxin extract Ⅲ was given same as above for 7 days. Then bone marrow was extracted to be cultured to colony-forming unit-granulocyte and monocyte (CFU-GM). The findings showed that colony amount of APBMV plus radiation group and katsutoxin extract Ⅲ plus radiation group was obviously more than that of simple radiation group [(32?5),(27?3),(2?1)pieces/well,P

Magnetic susceptibility is an intrinsic physical quantity which describes the relationship between material magnetization and applied external magnetic field. Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) is an MRI technology which can quantify the buck magnetic susceptibility of tissue in vivo. It is particularly effective at elucidating anatomy with paramagnetic or diamagnetic components. QSM technology is a method for solving the ill-pose problem of unconventional de-convolution of the measured tissue magnetic field with the unit magnetic dipole field to obtain the susceptibility source map. Many multi orientation scan based QSM and clinically acceptable single orientation QSM methods have been proposed to solve this ill-posed problem. In this paper, the QSM concept is introduced and the various QSM methods are systematically categorized and discussed. The aim of this paper is to summarize the current research progress of QSM, popularize the knowledge of QSM and promote the improvements and the rational application of QSM in clinical field.

Pericellular matrix (PCM) is a narrow tissue region surrounding chondrocytes, which "chondron" with its enclosed cells. A number of studies suggested that PCM is rich in proteoglycans, collagen and fibronectin, and plays an important role in regulating microenvironment of chondrocytes. Direct measures of PCM properties through micropipette aspiration technique showed that PCM was different from mechanical property of chondrocytes and nature extracellular matrix. However, the function of PCM is not clear, and need further study.
