1.Establishment of light dose in tissues mathematical model by Monte Carlo method: Analysis of laser damage to liver tissues

BACKGROUND: Transmitting law of laser in biological tissues is hard to calculate by mathematical analysis or clinical monitoring. Therefore, numerical simulation is commonly used for its prediction. Monte Carlo simulation is an ideal method for this study. OBJECTIVE: To establish a light dose mathematical model by Monte Carlo method, and to explore the damage of laser to liver tissues.METHODS: Light dose mathematical models of normal tissues and tumor with varied optical parameters were established by Monte Carlo method, and the migration trajectory of ponderosus photons was calculated one by one, and the distribution of photon was analyzed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The decay of photo dose with depth was approximately exponential, and the second peak value will be formed at the verge of the organization. The damage of organization was a process of the threshold value. The dose curved shape was the same as the line of threshold. Using Monte Carlo method, the ransmitting law of laser in tissues of liver tumor was obtained. The results demonstrated that optimal ration of illumination intensity can obtain a shallow but entirely selective depth of tumor necrosis, but to obtain deeper tumor necrosis necessarily means some degree of normal tissue damage.
2.Exploration and practice of construction of medical equipment rental center

Objective: To establish medical equipment rental center, not only can reduce the duplication of medical equipment purchase, and can reduce equipment maintenance cost, and improve utilization and good rates of medical equipment. Methods: Emergency rescue equipment rental center is established, which is managed by the Equipment Division with responsible for managing shared management mode, and in which the equipment is leased by Clinical departments. Results: The establishment of emergency rescue equipment rental centers, on the one hand, optimized the allocation of resources hospitals, and saved investment and maintenance expenses for the hospital; on the other hand improved the utilization of medical equipment, and protected the integrity of the rate of the device, and provided the most reliable service for clinical departments. Conclusion:By establishing emergency rescue medical equipment rental centers and improving of management mode of medical devices, sharing of resources has been achieved, and the utilization of the equipment has been improved, and equipment performance has been guaranteed.
3.The Clinical Experience of Professor Wang Xu in the Treatment of Throid-associated Ophthalmopathy from Liver, Spleen and Kidney

Objective]Discussion on academic ideas and clinical experience of Professor Wang Xu in treating of throid-associated ophthalmopathy from liver, spleen and kidney.[Methods]From the relationship of etiology and pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, prognosis and therapy with liver, spleen and kidney to expound the academic viewpoints and clinical experience of Professor Wang Xu in treatment of TAO. The course of TAO is divided into early stage, middle stage and advanced stage. Early stage should be treated from the liver, middle stage should be treated from the spleen, and advanced stage should be treated from the kidney.In the end, we examplify that. [Results] Professor Wang Xu believes the liver, spleen and kidney in Chinese Medicine sense have close relationship on TAO. The pathogenesis of this disease is “Liver stagnation transforming into fire and phlegm, phlegm fire disturbing orifice and damaging liver and kidney after a long time”, phlegm and blood stasis are the important pathological factors. Thus, the treatment of TAO focusing on liver, spleen and kidney is proposed. Clearing liver and nourishing liver yin, strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, dissipating phlegm and activating blood, nourishing Yin of liver and kidney is the clinical common therapy, clinically obtaining better therapeutic effect. [Conclusion] The clinical experience of Professor Wang Xu in treatment of TAO is effective, has the value of popularization and application.
4.Trends in cancer mortality in Wuyi County from 2015 to 2019

Objective:
To investigate the trends in cancer mortality among residents in Wuyi County, so as to provide insights into the development of the cancer control strategy.
Methods:
The deaths due to cancer among residents in Wuyi County from 2015 to 2019 were collected from Zhejiang Provincial Information Management System for Surveillance of Chronic Diseases. The crude mortality and standardized mortality of cancer and annual percent change (APC) of were calculated to analyze the trends in cancer mortality and causes of death.
Results:
A total of 3 424 deaths occurred due to cancer in Wuyi County from 2015 to 2019, and the crude and standardized mortality rates of cancer were 199.65/105 and 185.87/105, respectively. The crude mortality of cancer was significantly higher in men than in women (271.53/105 vs. 125.40/105;χ2=459.374, P<0.001). The standardized mortality of cancer showed a tendency towards a reduction among all study subjects, men and residents at ages of 45 to 59 years (APC=-3.87%, -4.44%,-11.46%, all P<0.05), and the crude mortality of cancer appeared a tendency towards a rise with age in all study subjects, men and women (χ2=7 063.842, 2 155.609, 5 492.128, all P<0.001). Lung cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, bowel cancer and esophageal cancer were the five leading causes of cancer-related mortality, which accounted for 71.41% of all cancer mortality. The crude mortality of central nervous system cancer (2.07/105) and leukemia (1.66/105) was high among residents at ages of 0 to 14 years, and the crude mortality of liver cancer (3.02/105) and lung cancer (2.01/105) was high among residents at ages of 15 to 44 years, while the crude mortality of lung cancer (51.57/105) and liver cancer (36.22/105)was high among residents at ages of 45 to 59 years, and the crude mortality of lung cancer (305.48/105) and gastric cancer (114.65/105) was high among residents at ages of 60 years and older.
Conclusions
The standardized mortality of cancer appeared a tendency towards a reduction in Wuyi County from 2015 to 2019, and men and the elderly were high-risk populations for cancer. Screening, early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer and cervical cancer should be given a high priority.
6.Inhibitory effect of sodium phenylbutyrate combined with gefitinib on PKC of NB4 cells

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of sodium phenylbutyrate(SPB) combined with gefitinib on NB4 cells.Methods The NB4 cells were divided into 8 groups randomly:control group,PMA group,H-7 group,SPB+PMA group,gefitinib group,gefitinib+PMA group,SPB+gefitinib group.The inhibitory rate of medicine was detected by MTT,the apoptosis of NB4 cells was detected by flow cytometry,the expressions of PKC,CDK,and P53 were detected with Western blotting method.Results The NB4 cells were suppressed obviously.The rate of growth inhibition and proliferation index in SPB+gefitinib group were 92.8% and 5.96%,those in SPB group were 45.1% and 29.6%,and gefitinib group were 61.0% and 35.9%,the differences were significant(P

Objective: To evaluate biological materials tanned with a compound method for clinical performance of biovalves. Methods: The tissue calcium concentration was compared between biological materials tanned simply with amylic aldehyde and those compoundly tanned with amylic aldehyde, cation fat, chromium trioxide and glycerol. The histological morphology, the ultra-structure and tensile strength of the biological materials were tested and the content of hydroxyls in the materials was measured with the Fourier infrared spectrum detector. The prosthetic biological cardiac valves made of the materials were tested with an accelerated wearing device extracorporeally. Results: The tissue calcium concentration was lower in the compoundly tanned materials. In these materials, the collagenous fibers were dense and lined up in order. The cellular structure was maintained. The materials were pliable at the contracting temperature of 86℃ to 90℃. The tensile strength of the materials was 19.9 to 25.9 N/mm 2 and the extension rate was 43.4% to 46.0%. The peak of the hydroxyls decreased significantly at the wave length of 1741.11 cm -1 in the Fourier infrared spectrum. The swine aortic valve experienced 3.892?10 8 cycles in the accelerated wearing tests, and the bovine pericardial valve, 3.888?10 8 cycles. By estimation, the biovalves will last for about ten years. Conclusion: Compound tanning can increase firmness and softness of the materials and may play an important role in anticalcification of the biovalves.

9.Analysis on the death time of elderly hospitalized inpatients

Objective To examine the time patterns and seasonality of death of hospitalized elderly patients and to propose proactive management measures.Methods Data were collected on 449 patients aged 60 years and over who had died between August of 2009 to August of 2013 during hospitalization at the Department of Geriatrics,Beijing Friendship Hospital,Capital Medical University.The seasonality and time patterns of the patients' deaths were analyzed retrospectively.Results Pulmonary infections(175 cases,38.97%)and malignant tumors(162 cases,36.08%)were the leading causes of death.Deaths from pulmonary infections were more frequent in spring and summer while deaths caused by malignant tumors were more frequent in summer,but the differences were not statistically significant (all P > 0.05).The peak times of death in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease were between 23:00 pm to 7:00 am (x2 =11.10 and 14.19,respectively,P<0.05).Conclusions Pulmonary infections and malignant tumors are the main causes of death in elderly inpatients,which most often occurs during the latter half of the night in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
10.The protective effect of Tanshinone ⅡA in radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis

Objective To investigate the protective effect and it's possible mechanism of Tanshinone ⅡA in radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis.Methods Having the right hemithorax of female Wistar rats irradiated(30?Gy) in 10 fractions within 14 days by 6 ?MV photons,the radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis animal model was established.In the treatment group,sodium Tanshinone ⅡA sulfonate(15?mg/kg) was given by intraperitoneal injection 1 hour before each fraction of irradiation.Five months after irradiation,the difference of the histopathological changes,the hydroxyproline content and expression of TGF-?1 between the radiation alone group,tanshinone plus radiation and control group were analyzed by HE stain,Massion stain,immunohistochemical methor and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) method.Results The histopathological comparison revealed the protective effect of Tanshinone ⅡA.The content of hydroxyproline was(21.99?3.96),((38.25?)(7.18)),(28.94?4.29)??g/g in the control group,radiation alone group and radiation plus Tanshinone ⅡA.The expression of TGF-?1(mRNA and protein) was reduced by Tanshinone ⅡA.Pathological changes of the pulmonary fibrosis was reduced by Tanshinone ⅡA yet.Conclusions Our study shows that Tanshinone ⅡA can inhibit radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis,and the possible mechanism of its may be made possible through down-regulating the expression of TGF-?1 in the irritated lung tissue.
