1.Photocoagulation with 532 semiconductor laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy

Objective To observe the photocoagulation treatment effect of using 532 semiconductor laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy .Methods A total of 50 cases(95 eyes) of nonproliferative and proliferative dia betic retinopathy received local retinal photocoagulation ,grid photocoagulation or panretinal photocoagulation treatment carried out by 532 semiconductor laser .We observed visual acuity ,slit lamp biomicroscopy ,intraocular pressure ,oph-thalmoscopy,fundus fluorescence angiography (FFA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT).These patients were followed up for 6 months after laser treatment .Results Among the 95 eyes,visual acuity was improved in 36 eyes (37.9%),unchanged in 52 eyes(54.7%) and decreased in 7 eyes(7.4%).Among the 26 eyes with clinical signifi-cant macular edema ( CSME ) , macular edema was resolved completely or partly resolved after photocoagulation . Conclusion Photocoagulation with 532 semiconductor laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy was safe and ef-fective.
2.Quantitative assessment of myocardial regional function of different coronary atherosclerosis severity using velocity vector imaging

Objective To assess isehemic myocardial regional function of different coronary atherosclerosis using velocity vector imaging(VVI).Methods Two-dimensional images of apical four-,two-chamber and long-axis view were obtained in 50 patients with coronary artery disease.All segments of the left ventricle were divided into 5 groups:group 0 with no coronary artery stenosis,group 1 with stenosis<50%,group 2 with stenosis 50%to 74%,group 3 with stenosis 75%to 99%and group 4 with a completely occluded coronary artery.The segmental myocardial systolic peak strain(ε),systolic strain rate(SRs),early diastolic strain rate(SRe),late diastolic strain rate(SRa)and their ratio(SRe/SRa)were analyzed with VVI offline software.Results①Compared with group 0,SRe and SRe/SRa of group 1,SRs,SRe,SRe/SRa of group 2~4,εof group 2 and group 4 decreased significantly(P<0.05).②In the comparison of four ischemic groups,ε,SRe,SRa of group 3 were markedly higher than those of group 2,while ε,SRs,SRa of group 2 were lower than those of group 1(P<0.05);for group 4,ε,SRs,SRe were lower than those of group 1,SRe was lower than that of group 2,and ε,SRs,SRe were lower than those of group 3(P<0.05).ConclusionsIn the process of coronary atherosclerosis,myocardial diastolic and systolic dysfunction occurred early and orderly,and has a bidirectional change:decreased firstly,then increased and decreased at last.
3.Primary study of carotid atherosclerosis plaque biomechnics using ultrasonic velocity vector imaging in patients with coronary artery disease

Objective To assess the changes of the velocity,strain and strain rate on the corresponding vascular of plaque and without plaque,bard plaque and soft plaque,the cupular part of fiber cowl and shoulder of plaque.Methods Eighty-six patients with coronary artery disease(CAD)according to the results of coronary arteriography and 50 normal subjects underwent the high frequency ultrasound,and carotid artery intima media thickness(IMT)was detected.The velocity,strain and stain rate of carotid were obtained by velocity vector imaging(VVI)speckle tracking technique.Results The level of IMT in CAD patients was higher than that in normal control(P<0.05).The systolic maximum velocity of carotid with normal contract was higher significantly than that of carotid without plaque with CAD(P<0.05).The systolic maximum velocity and strain rate of soft plaque in carotid atherosclerosis were higher significantly than those of hard plaque(P<0.001,P<0.05).The maximum velocity and strain rate of fabric cowl in carotid atheroscIerosis plaque were lower significantly than those of plaque shoulder(P<0.05,P<0.00 1).Conclusions VVI technique could early detect the elasticity degree of blood vessel wall,artherosclerosis and the mechanism asynchrony of the plaque intima.The value difference could be used as the predictive parameter and quantization for artherosclerosis and plaque instability.
4.Related Risk Factors between Diabetic Retinopathy and Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy in Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

[Objective]To analyze the clinical features and related risk factors in diabetic retinopathy(DR)and diabetic periph?eral neuropathy(DPN),the two micro-peripheral vascular diseases in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus.[Methods]A retro?spective study of 211 cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus inpatient from 2009 to 2012 ,and compare the two micro-peripheral vascular complications.[Results]The morbidity of DPN was(33.6%),which was higher than that of DR,some cases of DR co-existed with DPN,DR was related with DPN(r=0.158,P=0.020). Age and systolic blood pressure were the common risk factors in DR and DPN by single factor analysis.[Conclusion]It should be paid attention to the screening of both DR and DPN in each age group in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus. Except for the control of blood glucose ,the control of the systolic blood pressure is important in the prevention and treatment in the two micro-peripheral vascular diseases.
5.Preliminary analysis of left ventricular regional volume and function of the patients with myocardial infarction by three-dimensional echocardiography

Objective To evaluate left ventricular regional volume and function of the patients with myocardial infarction by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography.Methods The study consisted of 24 normal subjects and 27 patients with myocardial infarction.Three-dimensional image data were acquired and were analysed offline.Regional volume curves and regional ejection fraction curves were derived.Regional diastolic volumes,regional systolic volumes and regional ejection fractions were compared respectively between two groups.Results The normal regional volume curves and regional ejection fraction curves were regular parabola.The regional volume increased and ejection fraction decreased in the zones with infarction,and the amplitudes of the regional volume curves and the regional ejection fraction curves decreased.Conclusions Real-time three-dimensional echocardiography can evaluate left ventricular regional volume and regional function objectively.

?Proliferative diabetic retinopathy ( PDR ) is a group of disease characterized by neovascular disease complication of diabetes mellitus. Neovascular diseases of eye are one of the major causes of blindness of the world. Recent studies showed that vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) and pigment epithelium-derived factor ( PEDF ) are now accepted as the key cytokine in the development of diabetic retinopathy. Recent progress in the investigation of VEGF and PEDF of PDR are summarized in this review.
7.Preliminary study of energy loss in left ventricle obtained by vector flow mapping in patients with hypertension

Objective To quantitatively analyze the energy loss (EL) in left ventricle with vector flow mapping (VFM) in hypertensive patients,and try to reveal the correlation of EL with cardiac structure and function.Methods Hypertension group:52 hypertensive individuals were enrolled in our study,divided into 4 subgroups:①14 patients with normal geometry(NG);②20 patients with concentric remodeling(CR);③15 patients with concentric hypertrophy(CH);④3 patients with eccentric hypertrophy(EH)(not enrolled in subgroup analysis).Health control group were composed of 32 healthy volunteers.LVEF,LVMI and E/e′ were measured.And the EL in left ventricle was measured at different phases and different segments based on VFM images.Results ①EL comparison:in the phrase of late diastole(DL),isovolumic contraction(IVC) and rapid ejection(RE),compared with the control group,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle in hypertension group increased (P<0.05);Compared with the control group,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle in each subgroup of hypertension increased (P<0.05);EL among different subgroups showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05);②Correlation analysis:in the phrase of DL,IVC and RE,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle showed significant positive correlations with LVMI and with E/e′ (P<0.05).In the phrase of DL,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle showed significant negative correlations with LVEF(P<0.05).Conclusions EL measured quantitatively by VFM is more sensitive to reflect the changes of hemodynamic in hypertensive individuals.EL is closely correlated with cardiac structure and function.

9.Predictive study on properties of traditional Chinese medicine components based on pharmacological effects.

OBJECTIVETo study the relationship between pharmacological effects and properties of traditional Chinese medicine by the decision tree algorithm.
METHODBased on of pharmacological effects of traditional Chinese medicine, the decision tree algorithm was applied in the study on the relationship between pharmacological effects and properties of traditional Chinese medicines. A model was established with the decision tree algorithm for the purpose of predicting the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components.
RESULTThe established model was reliable and stable, and could be used to predict the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components.
CONCLUSIONThe prediction for the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components with a decision tree model could reflect the theoretical connotation of the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components to some extent and provide a new method for studying the properties of traditional Chinese medicine components.

10.Status and Strategies for Sustainable Exploitation of Marine Bioresources

The status of marine bioresources and the marine eco-environment issues were summarized and discussed, and the strategies for the development of Chinese marine bioresources in the future were proposed. The degradation of marine eco-environment and unreasonable exploitation of the resources resulted in acute decline of Chinese marine bioresources. The feasible stratagies for the sustainable use of marine bioresources should be to intensify the basic research on marine bioresources science, to strengthen the protection of the marine environment and conservation of marine living resources, and to exploit and utilize marine bioresources scientifically and reasonably by using high-technology including marine biotechnology.
