Eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase (eEF2K) is well known as a Ca2+/calmodulin (CaM)-dependent kinase. eEF2K catalyzes the phosphorylation of eEF2 and subsequently inactivates eEF2 by impairing its ability to bind to the ribosome, thereby negatively modulates protein synthesis. The high expression of eEF2K has been found recently in several types of malignancies. As participating in the progress of tumor, eEF2K emerges a potential target for future cancer therapy. The relationship between eEF2K and tumor, and the latest progress of eEF2K inhibitors were summarized in this article.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the situation of anti-cold compound preparations for children, and provide reference for clinical rational drug use. METHODS:The drug instructions of anti-cold compound preparations for children were collected from our hospital and analyzed statistically in recpects of drug components, specifications, formulations and dosages of those prepara-tions;typical irrational prescriptions from Jan. to May 2015 were also analyzed. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:40 kinds of an-ti-cold compound preparations for children were currently used in our hospital, including 14 chemical drugs and 26 Chinese medi-cine,in which,15 were not specified in the drug instructions for pediatric dosage (accounting for 37.5%). Anti-cold compound preparations had many kinds, varied largely in specifications and dosages. The children with same constitution and age take differ-ent drugs according to the drug instructions, the dosages of the same component are greatly different, the child dosages in the drug instructions need to be further improved. There are problems of irrational drug use in our hospital, such as repeated medication, medicine incompatibility,in appropriate dose.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate clinical outcomes of fixation for the treatment of radial head fracture with collapse of anterior articular surface.
METHODSFrom March 2006 to January 2013,17 patients with radial head fractures with collapse of anterior articular surface were analysed. According to the Mason classification, there were 12 cases with Mason type II fractures and 5 cases with Mason type III fractures. All the patients were treated with open reduction through posterolateral entrance of elbow joint and Herbert or titanium cannulated screw internal fixation.
RESULTSAll the patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 6 to 18 months, with a mean of 11.3 months. According to the Broberg and Morrey score system, 2 patients got an excellent result, 12 good and 3 fair. There were no complications such as infection of elbow joint, nerve injury, non-union, traumatic osteoarthritis, heterotopic ossification and elbow instability. However, the postoperative activity range of elbow in the injuried side was less than that in the normal side.
CONCLUSIONRadial head fracture with collapse of anterior articular surface is easily misdiagnosed, and it can be treated with open reduction and internal fixation through posterolateral entrance.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(38):6081-6086
BACKGROUND:Although there is a certain progress in the preparation of tissue-engineered bone tissue using a variety of materials, some deficiencies have appeared such as mismatching between scaffold degradation rate and new bone formation rate, slow tissue growth, toxic metabolites.
OBJECTIVE:To build a new type of inducible bone repair composite scaffold with bionic bone structurematerials and to evaluate its physicochemical and biological properties.
METHODS: Icarin encapsulated by chitosan was used to prepare drug-loaded microspheres, and the drug release rate of the microspheres was detected. Chitosan microspheres were mixed with colagen to build the core part of scaffold materials. Hydroxyapatite (HA), polycaprolactone (PCL) and colagen were mixed in hexafluoride isopropanol (HFIP) to prepare the HA/PCL/colagen outer part of composite scaffold material at the rate of 0:3:3, 1:3:3, 2:3:3, 3:3:3. Each proportional electrospinning was used for one layer, and finaly the 4-layer outer tube of the scaffold was produced. The tube core and outer tube were crosslinked by 1% genipin. Universal material testing machine, surface contact angle meter, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, water absorption, permeability, porosity,in vitro degradation tests for cross-linked and uncross-linked were used to observe the structure and characteristics of tubular materials. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels were seeded on the surface of cross-linked and uncross-linked bone repair materials to evaluate the biocompatibility of the scaffolds. Cross-linked and uncross-linked bone repair materials were implanted subcutaneously into Wistar rats to evaluate the histocompatibility of the scaffolds.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The drug in the scaffold had a suitable release; the bone scaffold material had good uniformity, and cross-linked scaffolds materials had better mechanical properties, water absorption and permeability than the uncross-linked(P < 0.05). The degradation rate of the cross-linked group was significantly lower than that of the uncross-linked group (P< 0.05). Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels could adhere wel to the cross-linked and uncross-linked materials. No inflammatory reactions occurred after subcutaneous implantation of cross-linked and uncross-linked materials. These findings indicate that the cross-linked scaffold for inducible bone tissue engineering has good biocompatibility and mechanical properties.

Objective To investigate the correlation between large platelet ratio (P-LCR) and stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods 152 consecutive patients with atrial fibrillation were selected and divided into two groups according to whether accompanying stoke or not. Clinical features of patients and blood test indicator P-LCR were analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. Results In total, 152 subjects, including 47 patients with stoke and 105 patients without stoke, were included in the study. Univariate analysis showed that the difference in age, diabetes, hypertension, lipid-lowering therapy and P-LCR between two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that age, diabetes and P-LCR were independent risk factors of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. Conclusions Age, diabetes and P-LCR are independent risk factors of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation.
