Objective To evaluate the feasibility of CT staging for esophageal cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis of 304 patients treated,from Jan. 1996 to Dec. 1998 chiefly with radiotherapy(126 conventional radiotherapy,55-65 Gy/27-35 fx/5.5-7.0 w;178 late-course accelerated hyperfractionated radiotherapy ,55-60 Gy/33-36 fx/ 4.5 -5.5 w)complete with CT data before treatment was done. The long survival was compared with pre-therapy CT findings and CT staging. ResultsThe survival rate of stage T1+T2 was very significantly different from those lesion with stage T3,T4(? 2=12.90,P0.05).The survival rates of patients positive for lymph nodes or distant metastasis were lower. Conclusion CT staging is quite optimal for non-operable esophageal cancer in clinical staging,as it is conducive to predict the prognosis.

γ-Secretase is aⅠtransmembrane protease associated with Alzheimer disease(AD), and including four subunits:presenilin,presenilin enhancer-2,anterior-pharynx-defective1 and nicastrin. In recent studies,the ultra-high-resolution cryo-electron microscope has been used for the first time, revealing the humanγ-secretase″horseshoe″,the three-dimensional structure and the arrangement of the subunits. This technique has shed light on the regulation of the enzyme pathway and mechanism. In addition,the γ-secretase modulators,including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,have been shown in vitro to inhibit γ-secretase activity and selectively reduce the level of Aβ42 against AD. They have provided an effective approach,with broad prospects for development. Studies in this area have become a hot topic in recent years. Here we summarized the γ-secretase subunits regulatory pathways, humanγ-secretase fine three-dimensional structure andγ-secretase modulators .

OBJECTIVETo Study the effect of anti-aging and its mechanism of total saponins of Wu-He Dipsacus asper on skin of mice-aging model.

METHODSForty-eight mice were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, low-Dipsacus group, medium-Dipsacus group, high-Dipsacus group and positive control group( n = 8) . The mouse model of skin aging was established by nape subcutaneous injection of 5% D-galactose (0.025 mL/(g · d)), the mouse of low-Dipsacus group, medium-Dipsacus group, high-Dipsacus group were administered with total saponins of Wu-He Dipsacus asper (50 ml/(kg · d), 100 mL/(kg · d), 200 mL/(kg · d)), the mice of the positive control group were administered with vitamin E(50 mg/(kg · d)) for 42 d. The content of hydroxyproline (HYP) and lipofuscin (LF) were measured in skin of each group mice, the activity of catalase (CAT) glutathione peroxidase ( GSH-Px) superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of malondi- aldehyde (MDA) were determined in serum and skin of each group mice.

RESULTSCompared with blank control group, the content of HYP decreased significantly and the content of LF increased significantly in skin, the activities of CAT, GSH-Px and SOD decreased significantly and the content of MDA increased significantly in serum and skin of model group; Compared with model group, the content of HYP increased significantly and the content of LF decreased significantly in skin, the activities of CAT, GSH-Px and SOD enhanced significantly and the con- tent of MDA decreased significantly in serum and skin of low-Dipsacus group, medium-Dipsacus group, high-Dipsacus group and positive control group; Compared with low-Dipsacus group, the content of HYP increased significantly and the content of LF decreased significantly in skin, the activities of CAT, GSH-Px and SOD enhanced significantly and the content of MDA decreased significantly in serum and skin of high-Dipsacus group and positive control group; The activity of SOD in serum and skin had a significant positive correlation with the content of HYP, and a significant negative correlation with LF in skin.

CONCLUSIONTotal saponins of Wu-He Dipsacus asper have obvious effect of anti-agng on skin of mouse-aging model , its mechanism is closely related to oxidative damage.

From October 1969 through December 1981, 3483 esoghageal carcinomas without superficial lymphatic metastasis were treated by 60 Co in our hospital. The radiation dose was over 50Gy and follow-up was over ten years. Results: No significant difference of survival rates was found in various cancer locations in the esophagus combined with the data between our hospital and Xingtai Tumor Hospital, the 5-year survival rates for lower third esophageal cancer were 20.7%～36.4% in surgery group and only 4.3% in radiation group. Objective To explore the effect of inhaled ambroxol hydrochloride(mucosolvan) and budesonide suspension(pulmicort respules) on the prevention and treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS).Methods Ninty-two preterm infants without asphyxia and mother suffered from illness,were selected from neonatal intensive care unit(NICU) in Jiangyin hospital from Oct.2003 to Mar.2006.Their gestational age ranged from 29 to 33 weeks and they were all cured within 2 hours after birth.They were divided randomly into treatment group(group A) and control group(group B) at equal number.All of them were given oxygen treatment,aminophylline,VitK1,nutrition support treatment and kept in infant incubator.Every 8 hours,inhaled ambroxol hydrochloride(10 mg/kg) and budesonide suspension(0.25 mg) driven by oxygen were given to group A.Meanwhile,only ambroxol hydrochloride(10 mg/kg) were given to group B.After 3 days,the data of p(O2) and p(CO2) of premature were detected at d1,2,3 in 2 groups.Result At d2,d3,the arterial blood P(O2) in group A were(8.01?0.62),(9.25?0.76)kPa respectively;At d2,d3,arterial blood P(O2) value in group B were respectively(7.63?0.59)kPa,(8.75?0.63)kPa.By that statistics handles two set of preemie d2,d3 arterial blood P(O2)value,difference had notable.Group A preemie d2,d3 arterial blood P(CO2) value were respectively:(4.55?0.58),(4.20?0.51)kPa;group B preemie d2,d3 arterial blood P(CO2) value were(4.87?0.67)kPa,(4.44?0.59)kPa respectively.By that statistics handles two set of preemie d2,d3 arterial blood P(CO2) value,difference had notable.Conclusion Inhaled ambroxol hydrochloride and budesonide suspension treatment has be well effect in NRDS.

Objective To compare the effectiveness and the influence on life quality of endovenous laser obliteration with those of traditional surgical ligation in treating varicosis of lower extremity.Methods By using numerical random grouping method,40 patients with varicosis of lower extremity were divided into traditional surgical ligation group (high ligation plus stripping,traditional group,n=20) and endovenous laser obliteration group (laser group,n=20).The curative effect and complications were compared between the two groups.According to the brief health survey (SF-36) scale,the influences of the two treatments on the life quality were evaluated.Results During the follow-up period,the differences in the curative effect and complications between two groups were not significant (P＞0.05).The life quality assessed by SF-36 scores in the laser group was better than that in the traditional group,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion For the treatment of varicosis of lower extremity,endovenous laser obliteration is safe and effective,it carries less influence on the patient's life quality when compared with traditional surgical ligation therapy.

ObjectiveTo study the relationship between subjective well-being and family care degree of medical college students.Methods2695 medical college students were tested by Family APGAR index and Oxford Happiness Test-Revised.The data was analyzed by independent-sample t test,pearson correlations and linear regression.Results ( 1 ) The subjective well-being and family care degree and its factors of college students were above average.The score of subjective well-being was 43.08 ± 11.16,and the score of family care degree was 6.48 ±2.39.(2)The family care degree( t=3.462,P＜0.01) and its adaptation( t=2.718,P＜0.01),partnership( t =4.178,P＜0.01),and growth( t=4.484,P＜0.01 ) of female students were higher than male students.The family care degree ( t =3.939,P ＜ 0.01 )and its adaptation ( t =4.683,P ＜ 0.01 ),partner-ship ( t =3.306,P＜ 0.01 ),and growth ( t =2.796,P ＜ 0.01 ) and subjective well-being( t =3.508,P＜ 0.01 ) of the students who came from cities and towns were higher than the students who came from rural.(3)There was a significant relation between subjective well-being and family care degree and its factors( r=0.197 ～ 0.357,all P＜0.05 ).The partner-ship,resolve,growth and affection can forecast together the 13.2％ variance of subjective well-being.ConclusionEnhancing family care degree is contribute to the subjective well-being and psychological health of medical college students.

Objective To observe the effects of moxibustion on learning and memory ability and nerve cell ultrastructure in CA1 region of hippocampus of rats with Alzheimer's disease (AD);To discuss its mechanism of action to AD.Methods A total of 40 male SD mice was randomly divided into normal group, model group, moxibustion group and sham-operation group. Stereotactic injection agglutinated Aβ25-35 into bilateral hippocampus of rats in model group and moxibustion group to prepare AD models. Rats in moxibustion group were treated by moxibustion at the points which were located above 2-3 cm away from Shenshu, Zusanli and Baihui. Rats in normal group received no treatment. The learning and memory ability was detected by Morris water maze test. Morphological changes of rat nerve cell ultra structure in hippocampal CA1 region were observed by transmission electron microscope.Results In model group, the average escape latency of five days and the last three days was significantly lengthened, and the times across the platform position significantly decreased. Transmission electron microscope indicated nerve cell structures were damaged and displayed unclearly;mitochondrion swelled, even mitochondrial crista was abnormal and deformed, endoplasmic reticulum of inter organelle expanded and the deposition of lipofuscin increased. After the treatment by moxibustion, the average escape latency of five days and the last three days was shortened obviously, and the times across the platform position significantly increased. In moxibustion group, the edema of nerve cells significantly decreased;dilation of endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria swelling significantly improved;golgi bodies, mitochondria and ribosomes obviously increased in comparison with the model group. Conclusion Moxibustion can improve the learning and memory impairment caused by Aβ by promoting repairing of nerve cells in brain.

To develop a handling platform for loading, unloading, fixation, deployment, withdrawal and etc of medical materials in field conditions. Classified handling was performed for different function units with the de-vice developed, which was composed of a trolley, a railroad, a hydraulic handling board, a fixation belt and a vehicle-mounted tractor. The platform could enhance the efficiency of materials handling, which behaved well in the hos-pital without any handling device. The modular handling platform is easy to unload, carry, transport, fix and maintain, and thus is worthy popularizing practically.
