The present paper is a study on the use of English movies in the teaching of college English,focusing on the design and interactive teaching process of the course "The Appreciation of English Movies".The paper argues that English movies play a positive role in creating an authentic communicative situation and acquainting students with western culture.

Objective To evaluate circumferential mucosectomy for the treatment of prolapsed hemorrhoids. Methods Ten patients with Ⅲ or Ⅳ degree of circular prolapsed hemorrhoids were operated on with circumferential mucosectomy using circular stapler. The mean age was 65 years old with hemorrhoids history of 3～25 years. Results Hemorrhoids in 8 of the 10 patients disappeared immediately after operation and 2 disappeared on the second day postoperatively. 3 patients complained local pain and 6 patients suffered from temporary urine retention after operation. No significant edema or bleeding ensued. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 4 days. No recurrence developed at an averaged 2 months′ follow up. Conclusion The new technique provides a significantly less painful choice of treatment for severely prolapsed circular hemorrhoids. However, the long-term outcome remains to be identified.

Objective To investigate the expression of the cytosolic phospholipase A2(c-PLA2),interleukin-1 beta(IL-1?),tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1(TMP-1) in rat brain after injury.Methods The model of traumatic brain injury originally described by Feeney was employed.The mRNA was analyzed by RT-PCR.Results The mRNA of cytosolic phospholipase A2 was increased at 2 hour and its peak was at 7 day.At 14 day,the level of cytosolic phosphalipase A2 mRNA was still in high level as compared to the control group.Likely,the enhancement expression of interleukin-1? was seen at the 1 hour and the peak time was from 5 to 8 hour.At 72 hour,it decreased to normal level.The expression of inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1 was increased at the 2 hour,and the highest expression level was seen during 48 to72 hour.It came down to normal level at 14 day after injury.Conclusion The augment of the expression of the cytosolic phospholipase A2,interleukin-1? and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1 following traumatic brain injury suggested that they participated in the pathogenesis of the traumatic brain injury,and may played roles in this pathophysiological process.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of T lymphoma invasion and metastasis 1 (Tiam 1) overexpression in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cells. METHOD: Endogenous expression of Tiam 1 in 8 head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cell (HNSCC) lines was investigated by real-time RT-PCR. A lentivirus vector containing Tiaml was transfected into UM-SCC-47 cells, a head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cell line with little endogenous Tiaml expression. Stable clone, obtained by G418 screening, were assayed by RT-PCR and Western blot to validate the gene expression efficiency. The biological behaviors of the transduced cells were determined by cell counting, MTT and in-vitro migration assay. RESULT: Tiam 1 gene was highly expressed in M2 cell line and it's low level expression was found in UM-SCC-47. Cell counting and MTT assay showed that over-expression of Tiaml significantly promoted cell proliferation (P < 0.05). The cell monolayers overexpressed Tiaml that resulted in a significant increasment of cell migration in infected head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cell lines (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Tiam 1 gene plays an important role in the growth and migration in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cell lines. It may be a useful marker for metastasis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

Objective To evaluate the effect of Diver CE aspiration thrombus catheter used in patients during the recovery of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods A total of 50 AMI patients were enrolled from January 2010 to December 2011. Twenty-ifve patients received PCI and used the Diver CE aspiration thrombus catheter (aspiration group);and the other 25 patients received routine PCI (routine PCI group). The basic characteristics, PCI characteristics, myocardial perfusion indexes and clinical data were compared and analyzed. Results There was no statistically difference between two groups in basic characteristics. Compared with the routine PCI group, higher rate of myocardial blush grade 3 but lower thrombus scores were found in the aspiration group. The incidence of no-lfow or slow-lfow were also lower in aspiration group (all P<0.05). The LVEF after 6 and 12 months were higher in the aspiration group (both P<0.05), no difference in MACE between the two groups. Conclusions Using the Diver CE thrombus aspiration in PCI is a simple and safe by method for treatment of acute myocardial infarction with high thrombosis burden. It can improve reperfusion decrease the rates of no-relfow on slow-relfow and can improve the long-term left ventricular function.

Objective To explore the exercise risk of urban residents aged18 to 65 years old.MethodsHealth screening and cardiovascular risk stratification were performed among adults18 to 65 years old in 2010by using exercise risk assessmentrecommendedbyAmerican College of Sports Medicine.Result A total of15 498 subjects were recruited 9293 males and 6205 females,mean age (44.8 ±11.1) years,8929(57.6％ ) in the lower risk group,5323(34.3％ ) in the moderate risk group,and 1246(8.1％ ) in the higher risk group.The proportion of those in the higher risk group was increased with age.Conclusion Risk assessment and Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaires should be used before physical activity programme is initiated,especially in middle aged or elderly people.

Objective To investigate the effects of erythropoietin (EPO) on complement 3a (C3a)-induced renal tubular epithelial to mesenchymal transition. Methods The HK-2 cells were divided into 6 groups namely control group,EPO group,TGF-β group,TGF-β+EPO group,C3a group and EPO+C3a group.The mRNA and protein expressions of α-SMA,E-cadherin and C3 were investigated by RT-PCR,Western blot and immunofluorescence respectively. Results Compared with control group and EPO group,the mRNA and protein expressions of α-SMA in HK-2 cells were up-regulated after the intervention of C3a or TGF-β (all P＜0.05).On the contrast,the mRNA and protein expressions of E-cadherin were down-regulated(P＜0.05),the mRNA and protein expressions of C3 were enhanced (all P＜0.05).However,all those above effects of C3a or TGF-β were inhibited after the intervention of EPO (all P＜0.05). Conclusion EPO is capable of suppressing the epithelial to mesenchymal transition induced by C3a.

Objective:To explore value of 256-slice spiral CT pulmonary artery angiography (CTPA)evaluating right heart function in patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE).Methods:According to death risk assessment of APE patients, a total of 67 APE patients were divided into high risk APE group (n=41)and non-high risk APE group (n=35).CTPA was used to analyze and compare CTPA obstructive index and right heart function indexes between two groups.Correlations among CTPA obstructive index and right heart function indexes were also analyzed.Results:Compared with non-high risk APE group,there were significant rise in CTPA constructive index [8.58% vs.24.69%],percentages of straight or left protruded ventricular septum (31.46% vs.73.17%)and bronchial artery dilation (5.71% vs.24.69%);Except the supe- rior vena cava diameter,the rest right heart function parameters had difference significance in two groups,P<0.05 or<0.01. Spearman correlation analysis indicated that CTPA obstructive index was significant positively correlated with right ventricular maximal short axis (RVMSA),RV:LV,diameters of main pulmonary artery,superior vena cava and azygos (r=0.684~0.954),and significant inversely correlated with LVMSA (r=-0.786),P<0.01 all.ROC curve analysis indicated that AUCs of CTPA RV:LV (0.949)was the biggest diagnosing APE severity.Conclusion:Right heart func- tion indexes measured by multi-detector CT are accurate and practical indexes evaluating APE severity,and it possesses im- portant significance.

Objective To investigate the relationship of stress hyperglycemia,cystatin C and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) with short-term prognosis in elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction.Methods 242 consecutive patients with acute myocardial infarction were divided into two groups according to age:the elderly group (n=182),and the non elderly group (n=60).The clinical data including cystatin C (Cys C),eGFR and stress hyperglycemia levels were collected.The major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were observed during hospitalization and 30 days after discharge.Results The incidences of stress hyperglycemia,the levels of creatinine,Cys C and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP),as well as the total MACE were higher and eGFR was lower in elderly group than in non-elderly group (all P＜0.05).Cys C level was positively correlated with age,body mass index and levels of creatinine and BNP (all P＜0.05),and negatively correlated with fasting glucose and eGFR in elderly group (both P＜0.05).The eGFR was positively correlated with body mass index (P＜0.05),and negatively correlated with age,creatinine and BNP levels in elderly group (all P＜0.05).Logistic regression analysis indicated that stress hyperglycemia [OR=1.871,95％CI:1.071-3.269,P=0.03],Cys C [OR=7.093,95％CI:2.261-22.249,P=0.00] were the independent risk factors for MACE.Conclusions Cys C level and eGFR can predict the early renal dysfunction and its prognosis in elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction.The incidence of stress hyperglycemia is higher in the elderly,and stress hyperglycemia and Cys C level are the independent risk factors for MACE.
