Objective Toinvestigate the changes of liver and kidney function and morphology of the renal artery of the metabolic syndrome (MS) rats. Methods The rats were respectively fed with ordinary or high-fructose diet for 10 weeks, and then took the blood and anatomical observation,to explore the changes of liver and kidney function and morphology of the renal artery of the rats. Results The serum levels of ALT,AST,UA,BUN,CR in the control group and MS group were gradually increased with the feeding time. But those in MS rats were significantly increased than the control rats.MS rats showed dysfunction of liver and kidney, which similar to the clinical MS cases.Compared with the control group, the renal artery of MS rats had the same pathological changes as MS cases, presented with intima uneven thickening and structural disorder, medial smooth muscle cells hyperplasia to intimal, the internal elastic membrane with different degrees of damage and fracture, the film elastic fibers thickening and structural disorder, smooth muscle cell proliferation apparently, medial obvious thickening. Conclusion MS rats have mild dysfunction of liver and kidney and abnormal changes in intima and tunica media of renal artery.

Objective To study liquid based cytology test and its application values in the detection of fiber bronchoscopic aspi‐rates .Methods LBP sedimentation type of ThinPrep cell production system combined with the conventional smear were used to de‐tect 2000 specimens of fiber bronchoscopic aspirates ,and conduct microscope observation and cytological diagnosis .Results Based on liquid based cytology cell production method ,there were 614 positive cases (30 .7% ) ,267 cases of squamous cell carcinoma (13 .4% ) ,and 217 cases of adenocarcinoma(10 .9% ) ,83 cases of small cell carcinoma (4 .2% ) ,and 47 cases of undifferentiated car‐cinoma (2 .4% ) .The diagnostic sensitivity for lung cancer of liquid‐based cytology test was 64 .6% and conventional smear was 49 .2% .We also found 7 cases of fungus positive ,35 cases of typical caseous necrosis with liquid based cytology test .Conclusion The ThinPrep cell production has a more clean background ,more intact cell structure ,more efficient observation and increased posi‐tive rate of detection of cancer cells than the smears made by traditional methods .A combination of two methods can increase the accuracy of cytological detection of fiber bronchoscope aspirates and positive detection rate ,and also can assist the diagnosis of fungi and TB infections .

Objective To investigate the synergistic effects of 9-cis-retinoic acid(9-cis-RA) and 8-cl-cAMP on growth inhibition and apoptosis induction in H460 and H292 cell lines of non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC). Methods Experimental groups included 9-cis-RA groups(1,5,10 and 20 ?mol/L),8-cl-cAMP groups(5,10,20 and 50 ?mol/L),9-cis-RA(5 and 10 ?mol/L) combined with 8-cl-cAMP(10 ?mol/L) groups and blank control group. The cell growth inhibition rates were detected by trypan blue staining, and the apoptosis of H460 and H292 cells were observed by Hoechst33258 fluorescence microscope,DNA gel electrophoresis and flow cytometer(FCM). Results 9-cis-RA inhibited the growth of H460 cells in a time-and dose-dependent manner, and induced the apoptosis of H460 cells(P

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2015;31(3):191-195
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the application value of postmortem multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) in cases of fall from height through observing and analyzing the injury features of the fall and reconstructing the process of the fall based on the the above procedure.
METHODS:
One real fatal case due to fall from height was fully examined using MSCT and three-dimensional reconstruction technique. Analyzing the manner and cause of death through combination of MSCT and systemic autopsy was also implemented. The differences between autopsy and MSCT in getting information of injuries were compared.
RESULTS:
Fractures involving multiple body regions and liver rupture were found through MSCT and three-dimensional reconstruction. The autopsy got the same results with imageological examination. The case of death was deduced to be fall leading to systemic polytrauma.
CONCLUSION
Application of MSCT can be used as the complimentary for traditional autopsy in the analysis of injury manner of fall from height.

Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma NT-proBNP and the severity of coronary artery disease. Methods One hundred and eighty five subjects were divided into three groups:83 patients in acute coronary syndromes group, 62 patients in stable angina pectoris group and 40 healthy subjects in normal group. The plasma NT-proBNP concentrations were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) . The plasma NT-proBNP levels of acute coronary syndrome patients and stable angina patients were analyzed. Furthermore, the coronary syndrome patients were divided into three groups according to the result of angiography:single vessel group, dual-vessel group and multiple-vessel group. The relationship of plasma NT-proBNP levels with the severity of coronary artery disease was analyzed. Results (1) In the group of acute coronary syndromes, the plasma NT-proBNP concentrations were obviously higher than the stable angina pectoris group and normal group (P<0.01) . (2) In the groups of coronary heart disease, the plasma NT-proBNP concentrations of the multiple-vesel group were obviously higher than the single vessel group and the dual-vessel group (P<0.01) . The plasma NT-proBNP concentrations of dual-vessel group were obviously higher than the single vessel group (P<0.01) . (3) The plasma NT-proBNP levels and the severity of coronary lesions were positively correlated (rs=-0.796, P<0.01) . Conclusion The plasma NT-proBNP levels is closely related to the severity of coronary artery disease.

Objective The rate of post -operative complications has been increased with the changes in patients' age, prolonged duration, more severe and diffused lesions, and more patients with complications in recent years. We try to identify the risk factors associated with prolonged stay in the intensive care unit ( ICU ) after coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). Methods 1623 patients who received CABG surgery in Beijing Anzhen Hospital Between June 1, 2006 and December 31,2007 were divided into two groups based on their stay duration in the ICU. Prolonged stay in ICU was defined as 5days or more. Univariate and multivariate analysis ( logistic regression) were used to identify the risk factors. The discrimination and calibration of the result were tested after the risk factors were determined. Results Fifty one patients had prolonged ICU stay, accounting for 3.14% of total cases. Multivariate logistic analysis showed that the age of patients, peripheral vascular diseases, critical status before operation, LVEF, operative status, mitral regurgitation, postoperative respiratory failure, postoperative renal failure, secondary thoracotomy for postoperative bleeding were associated risk factors. Conclusion Prolonged ICU stay after CABG surgery can be predicted based on the above factors. For patients with these risk factors, more pre-and postoperative care strategies are needed.

Purpose To introduce a method to isolate cDNA clones using bacteriophage P1-derived artificial chromosome (PAC) or bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) as probe for hybridization and try to find some novel genes related to hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods PAC 579 (D17S926 locus) and BAC 1529 (D17S1529 locus) in the deletion region of chromosome 17p13.3 in human hepatocellular carcinoma were chosen to screening the human liver cDNA library as probe for hybridization. The isolated positive cDNA clones were partially sequenced, then analyzed by computer comparison and Southern blot. Results After three cycles of screening, 78 and 8 candidate positive cDNA clones were isolated using PAC 579 and BAC 1529 probes respectively. Further analysis indicated 18 cDNA clones isolated by PAC 579 probe and 5 cDNA isolated by BAC 1529 probe were potential novel genes related to hepatocellular carcinoma. Conclusions The isolation of cDNA clones using PAC and BAC probes is effective and practical.
