Objective To observe the change of capillary pericapillary cells in rats with myocardial infarction and the influence of supplementing qi and activating blood circulation herbs, and explore its mechanism of improving myocardial perfusion. Methods The rat model was established by ligaturing the left anterior descending coronary artery. On the base of ECG evaluation, successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into the model group, group treated with supplementing qi and activating blood circulation Chinese medicine (activating blood and supplementing qi group), group treated with Perindopril (Perindopril group), group treated with Tongxinluo Capsules (Tongxinluo group). The sham-operation group was taken as the control. There were totally 5 groups. The model group and the sham-operation group were treated with normal saline. The changes of myocardial capillary density (MCD) and number of pericapillary cells on the 7th, 28th day after medicinal administration were observed. Results On the 7th and 28th day, the MCD decreased significantly and the number of capillary pericapillary cells increased significantly in the model group compared with the sham-operation group (P<0.01). The MCD increased significantly in the activating blood and supplementing qi group, Perindopril group and Tongxinluo group compared with the model group (P<0.01). The number of pericapillary cells decreased significantly in the activating blood and supplementing qi group, Perindopril group and Tongxinluo group compared with the model group (P<0.01). Conclusion The supplementing qi and activating blood circulation herbs can improve regional myocardial blood supply by decreasing the number of pericytes and promoting regeneration of capillary.

ObjectiveTo explore the value of conventional echocardiography and transthoracic real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT3DE) in diagnosis of Ebstein anomaly.MethodsWe investigated the morphology and function of right ventricle (RV) as well as the structure, morphology and regurgitation of tricuspid valve in 61 adult patients with Ebstein anomaly before surgery by using conventional echocardiography and transthoracic RT3DE. Twenty normal adults were enrolled as control group. ResultsThe surface of the tricuspid leaflets, the morphology of the tricuspid annulus as well as the three-dimensional structure of the tricuspid valve were displayed stereoscopically by RT3DE. Complete RV volume data could be acquired in 32 patients of Ebstein anomaly. The apex or part of RV could not be contained in the remaining 29 patients. Thirty-four (55.7%) patients with Ebstein anomaly had severe tricuspid regurgitation,
16 (26.2%) patients had moderate to severe regurgitation, and 11 (18.1%) patients had moderate regurgitation. Compared with the normal adults, patients of Ebstein anomaly showed higher RV end-diastolic volume (EDV), end-systolic volume (ESV), end-diastolic volume index (EDVI), end-systolic volume index (ESVI), stroke volume (SV), RV anterior-posterior diameter (RV), tricuspid valve annular transverse diameter (TV-R), and lower RV ejection fraction(EF) [(273.5±77.7) mlvs (74.3±15.9) ml, (187.1±96.8) mlvs (31.1±9.2) ml, (177.4±53.6) ml/m2vs (43.4±8.2) ml/m2, (121.7±65.5) ml/m2vs (18.4±5.1) ml/m2, (95.9±20.2) ml vs (43.6±8.8) ml, (48.1±13.3) ml/m2vs (19.0±1.9) ml/m2, (56.4±8.9) ml/m2vs (28.5±4.3) ml/m2, (38.3±12.8) %vs (59.3±5.1) %, allP<0.05). The tricuspid regurgitant orifice flow cross-sectional area (EROA) were correlated positively with RV anterior-posterior diameter (r=0.691), ratio of RV and LV anterior-posterior diameter (RV/LV) (r=0.6471).ConclusionTransthoracic RT3DE is a feasible method in addition to conventional two-dimensional echocardiography in evaluation of tricuspid valve mophology and function, as well as RV volume and EF in adult patients with Ebstein anomaly.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of carbon dioxide (CO2) used as an alternative to air in the gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Methods 80 cases underwent ESD treatment were randomly as-signed to two groups, 40 cases in CO2 group and 40 in air group. Arterial blood CO2 partial pressure was measured preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative respectively. Visual analog scale (VAS) was used to record patients the degree of abdominal pain and distention at 1 h, 6 h and 24 h after operation in each group. The incidence of com-plications were evaluated. Regular follow up were scheduled in all the patients. Results There was no significant dif-ference in degree of abdominal pain score and the CO2 partial pressure between the two groups. The abdominal dis-tension scores of CO2 group were significant lower than air group at 1 h, 6 h after the ESD procedure. There were no statistically significant difference in the incidence rate of complications. Conclusion The utilization of CO2 in gas in-sufflation during gastric ESD is safe. CO2 insufflation can significant reduce the postoperative abdominal distension and improve the quality of postoperative recovery.

Objective To investigate the effects of bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs)transplantation combined with low dose ultrashort wave (USW)radiation on functional recovery and the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)and ED?1 after spinal cord injury(SCI)in rats, and further discuss its action mechanism. Methods Female Sprague?Dawley rats(n=30)were randomly divided into 5 groups:sham?oper?ated,as well as control,USW,BMSCs,and USW+BMSCs that were subjected to spinal cord injury(SCI). Basso?Beattie?Bresnahan(BBB)tests were carried out before the operation and at 1 d,1 week,2 weeks,3 weeks,4 weeks after SCI. 4 weeks later, animals were sacrificed and tissues were collected to make paraffin section. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to observe the expression of GFAP and ED?1. Results 4 weeks after SCI,BBB scores were significantly higher in the USW and USW+BMSCs groups than in the control group(both P<0.001). No signifi?cant difference was observed between the BMSCs group and control group. On the expression of GFAP ,only USW+BMSCs group showed signifi?cantly decreased compared with the control group(P<0.05). All treatment groups exhibited lower ED?1 expression than the control group(all P<0.05). Conclusion Our results indicate that USW radiation alone can obviously improve neural functional recovery after SCI. The USW radi?ation and BMSCs transplantation treatment can reduce inflammation ,and USW radiation is more effective. The combination therapy did not show a synergistic action on promoting functional recovery ,but do have an effect on reducing the inflammatory response and glial scar formation.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2020;36(9):2137-2140
Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is a bioactive polyunsaturated fatty acid produced by arachidonic acid, and it is mainly metabolized in the liver and has an important regulatory effect on various liver diseases. Prostaglandin E synthases (PGESs) are important terminal rate-limiting enzymes in the PGE2 synthesis pathway and are involved in the development and progression of liver disease. This article mainly summarizes the role of PGESs in liver injury, hepatitis, and liver cancer in existing studies, hoping to provide a reference for further research on the role of PGESs in liver diseases.
