Objective To study the effect of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis by Qiangxin Fumai Granule (QXFMG). Method The rat model with blood stasis was induced by the hyodermic injection of adrenaline and ice water-bathing. The blood sample was collected by the puncture of the abdomen aorta and the effect of QXFMG on hemorheological parameters was observed. Result Comparing with the control groups, the QXFMG groups can depress the whole blood viscosity under low shear rate, the erythrocytic clustering index and the content of fibrinogen obviously. Conclusion QXFMG can improve the hemorheology level of rat with acute blood stasis by depressing the whole blood viscosity under low shear rate, restraining the clustering of erythrocyte and depressing the content of fibrinogen, which is prior to the Compound Danshen piece.

Objective To study the effect of Qiangxin Fumai Granule (QXFMG) on rabbits induced with acute injury of sinoatrial node. Method 50 rabbits were divided into five groups-control group, QXFMG low dose group, QXFMG middle dose group, QXFMG high dose group and atropine group. The group on experiment was given QXFMG, and the active control group was given atropine. Result QXFMG can raise the heart rates, improve the function of sinoatrial node, thus speed up pacing frequency, and cause the consersion of ectopic cardiac rhythm into sinus rhythm, and then improve the cardiac muscle ischemic of the rabbits and speed the metabolization of cardiac muscle cellular. Conclusion QXFMG has the effect of raising heart rates and improving the cardiac muscle ischemic.

OBJECTIVE:To extract and purify organic acids with macroporous resins from Folium Isatidis.METHODS:Folium Isatidis was extracted with 70% aqueous ethanol(pH=2)by Soxhlet extraction. The process was optimized by employing orthogonal test design with the content of anthranilic acid as the index.RESULTS:The resin HPD100 had much better adsorption capacity and desorption ratio by using 3 BV 60% aqueous ethanol to extract organic acids in Folium Isatidis than other resins. The results showed that HPD100 possessed the better ecomic under the concentration of sample 0.18mg?mL-1,the condition of pH 3.5,and flowing rate of 2BV?h-1.CONCLUSION:Macroporous resin HPD100 may be value of isolating and purifying the organic acids from Folium Isatidis.

Objective To understand the prevalence and Influencing factors of Metabolic Syndrome(MS) of 40~74 year-old non-diabetes population in Minhang District. Methods A population-based sample(diabetes screening of Minhang District in 2007) of 3 947 individuals aged 40~74 years was investigated by cluster random sampling. They completed a questionnaire and underwent triglyceride, high density lipoprotein measured cholesterol and an oral glucose tolerance test. Results The standardized prevalence rate of MS,overweight, diabetes, impaired glucose regulation(IGR),hypertension, high triglyceride and low HDL were 15.67%,2.45%,5.60%,17.72%,16.47% and 2.00%.The male with MS,overweight or obese, diabetes and hypertension were higher than the female in terms of incidence. The prevalence of MS was increased with age,the highest rate at the ages of 50 years and above. There was no significant difference between male and female at the ages of 45 years and above. The incidence of MS in people with BMI or hypertension or abnormal blood glucose or hige TG or low HDL-C was obviously higher than that of normal population. The OR value were 15.71,28.21,10.09,30.31 and 3.14 respectively. The prevalence of diabetes, coronary heart disease and stroke in people with MS was higher than that of people with out MS.The OR value were 10.09,9.94 and 2.40.Multiple factor analysis showed that the factors related to MS were male, the aged, family history of diabetes and having no physical activity. Conclusions MS and realated diseases are a serious threat to population of 40 years old and above in Minhang District.

Objectives To examine the association of the maternal high-fat (HF) diet with increased susceptibility to obe-sity and the development of metabolic diseases in their offspring, and observe difference in the effect of maternal vs. acquired high fat diet on metabolic state in their offspring. Methods A total of 15 SD female rats were divided into HF diet group (group H, n=9) and control diet group (group C, n=6). After fed on different diet for seven weeks, they were mated at the age of ten weeks and became pregnant. Their offspring were then divided to groups CH and HH fed HF diet and groups CC and HC fed control diet. At the age of 3 and 8 weeks, the metabolic markers and the liver pathohistological evidences of their offspring were obtained. Results The body weight, area under curve (AUC) of glucose tolerance, cholesterol and triglyceride were all higher in group H than those in group C (P<0.05) before pregnancy. The offspring of group H had a higher body weight than the offspring of group C at the age of 3 weeks (P=0.002), and no difference in AUC was found between two groups (P>0.05). At the age of 8 weeks, there was no difference in fasting glucose and insulin levels among the four offspring groups. The AUC and body weight were higher in group H than in group C (main effect of maternal diet, P=0.024, P=0.013). The AUCs were also higher in groups CH and HH than groups CC and HC respectively (main effect of acquired diet, P=0.041). The levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL at the age of 8 weeks were all higher in HH and CH groups than those in HC and CC groups (main effect of acquired diet, P=0.008, 0.007, 0.000, respectively). Their histological analysis at 8 weeks showed different degrees of fatty liver in HH, HC and CH groups, and normal liver in CC group. Conclusions Maternal HF diet may result in increased body weight, fatty liver and impaired glucose tolerance in their adult offspring, and thus increase the risk of developing metabolic diseases at their later age. .

Objective To investigate the role of calreticulin (CRT) in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by analyzing its expression in the sera, synovial fluid and synovial membrane in patients with RA.Methods Levels of CRT in the sera from patients with RA,osteoarthritis (OA),systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE),other autoimmune diseases and health control (HC) were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western bloting.CRT levels in synovial fluid from RA and OA patients were measured by ELISA.Pathological methods were employed to analyze the expression and localization of CRT in synovial membrane.ANVOA,SNK-q test were used for statistical analysis. Results CRT was found to be significantly up-regulated in sera from RA [(4.8±2.4) ng/ml] than that from in OA [(3.6±0.9)ng/ml],SLE [(4.0±1.5) ng/ml],other autoimmune diseases [(3.9±0.8) ng/ml] and HC [(3.7±0.6) ng/ml].Only the monomer form of CRT in the serum could be detected.Pathological results showed that in RA synovium,CRT was mainly expressed in the lining and sublining layers, endothelial cells and perivascular areas; while in OA,only few CRT staining was seen in perivascular areas and the synovial lines. Conclusion In RA,increased levels of CRT are detected in the sera.In addition, high expression of CRT is observed in synovium and its distribution are different from OA.Our results suggest that CRT may be involved in RA joint inflammation and pannus formation.CRT may become a potential serological marker in the diagnosis of RA.

AIM:To investigate the activity of NF-?B in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with Graves disease (GD) and the significance in immunopathogenesis of GD.METHODS:Peripheral blood was collected from 22 untreated GD,20 treated GD with tapazole more than 1 year, and 25 healthy volunteers. PBMCs were isolated from the blood by histopaque-1077 density-gradient centrifugation. The activity of NF-?B in PBMCs was analyzed using gel electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). The contents of IL-1?,IL-6 and TNF-? were tested by radioimmunoassay.RESULTS:The activity of NF-?B in PBMCs of untreated GD group was increased remarkably, compared with that in the treated group and control (P
