Objective To develop an early-warning indicator system of brucellosis outbreak. Methods The methods of literature review and expert discussion were used to formulate the initiatory framework and indicators, and then Delphi method was used to filter indicators, discuss the boundary of indicators and determine the weighting coefficient. Results The average length of service provided by experts who engaged in prevention and control of brucellosis was (25.10 ± 8.80) years and the positive coefficient of the consultant experts of the two-round results were 95% and 68%, respectively. Kendall coefficients were 0.35, 0.54 and X2R value were 81.31 and 285.27, respectively and P value was all less than 0.01. Five first-level indicators(the host animal, high-risk groups, social environment, index case and the level of previous disease) and 13 secondary indicators were selected to develop the early-warning indicator system of brucellosis outbreak. The weight coefficients of the five first-level indicators were 0.21, 0.22, 0.17, 0.21 and 0.19, respectively. Conclusions The early-waming indicator system of brucellosis outbreak is initially established. We propose to develop the early-warning programs according to local conditions and the indicator system.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the frequency, sex differences and location of impacted maxillary canine in orthodontic patients.
METHODSTwo hundred and fifteen patients (77 males and 138 females) with maxillary canine impaction were included in the study. The experimental group was gathered from the Department of Orthodontics, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. CT scan images were evaluated. Chi-square test was used in the analysis.
RESULTSThe prevalence of maxillary canine impaction among Chinese orthodontic patients was 2.05%. The ratio between male and female was 1.8:1 and the ratio between buccal and palatal location was 2.1:1. Surgical exposure and orthodontic alignment had been predominant in such conditions. There was significant deference in the treatment between palatally impacted canine and buccally impacted one. More palatally impacted canines were extracted than buccally impacted ones.
CONCLUSIONSThere was significant difference in the treatment of maxillary canine impaction. More buccally impacted canines were found in Chinese patients, especially in female patients.

OBJECTIVETo breed estrogen receptor beta (ERbeta) gene knock-out female mice for studying postmenopausal osteoporotic fracture.
METHODSThree pairs of ERbeta gene knock-out mice were bred for 3 months, and 14 2-month-old female wild-type C57BL/6J mice with the same genetic background were paired at the ratio of 2:1 and mated with the male ERbeta gene knock-out homozygote mice. After further breeding to obtain sufficient number of mice, the genome DNA was extracted from the tail of the mice for genotyping by PCR. Ten 4-month-old female filial mice with ERbeta gene knock-out and 10 wild-type female mice were randomly selected and sacrificed, and the right proximal tibiae were removed and subjected to micro CT for measuring the parameters of trabecular bone histomorphometry.
RESULTSA total of 340 filial generation mice were reproduced in 2 months and genotypic identification revealed a proportion of ERbeta+ or + mice of 23.5%, ERbeta+ or - mice of 48.27 percent; and homozygous mutant (ERbeta- or -) mice of 28.3% (in which 54 were female). The MicroCT data revealed that the micro-architecture of the proximal tibiae was significantly different between ERbeta gene knock-out mice selected from the filial generation and wild type mice (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONIt is feasible to breed ERbeta knock-out female mice by introducing female wild-type mice to pair and mate with ERbeta knock-out homozygote male mice. This approach allows breeding of sufficient number of female ERbeta knock-out mice as the animal models for studying the role of ERbeta.

OBJECTIVETo establish an early-warning indicator system on outbreak of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome by Delphi method seeking expert advices.
METHODSFirstly, the literature review and the experts meeting method were used to formulate the initiator frame work and indicators. A two-round consultation was used to filter indicators, discuss the boundary of indicators and determine the weighting coefficient among 25 experts from 14 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. The relative weightiless of indicators was determined by the weight coefficients method.
RESULTSThe experts' average length of service in prevention and control of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome was (23.80 ± 11.70) years. The positivity coefficients of the two-round experts were 100% and 72%. Kendall's coefficients of the two-round consultation were 0.50 (χ(2)(R) = 148.95, P < 0.01) and 0.54 (χ(2)(R) = 212.63, P < 0.01) and opinions among experts became consistent and the consultation had achieved the need of forecast. Four first-class indicators (host animals, risk population, social environment and case-related indicators) and 14 second-class indicators were filtered to develop the indicators system. The weight coefficients of the first-class indicators were 0.28, 0.23, 0.23 and 0.26.
CONCLUSIONThe early-warning index system of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome has been established and it could provide a reference for the forest and warning of HFRS outbreak.

Objective To investigate the phased expression of gene and protein of NogoA and its receptor (NgR) that affects axon growth of spinal cord injury (SCI), and to explore the time window effect of electroacupuncture on SCI rats. Methods A total of 144 female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to sham operation group (group A, n=48) and model group (n=96). In the model group, Allen's method was used to establish SCI rats model, and they were further subdivided into model control group (group B, n=48) and electroacupuncture group (group C, n=48). Group C received electroacupuncture on Dazhui (GV14), Yaoyangguan (GV3), bilateral Ciliao (BL32) and Zu-sanli (ST36) with loose-tight wave, for 20 minutes every day, one day, seven days and 14 days after modeling. The rats at every interventional therapy time were randomly subdivided into two subgroups, which accepted sev-en or 14 days of treatment. Groups A and B were killed and the injured spinal cord tissue was extracted one day, three days, seven days, 14 days and 28 days after modeling, group C at the corresponding time. The hind limb motor function was assessed with BBB score before all of rats were killed. Four samples at every time in each group were randomly selected to detect the expression of mRNA and protein of NogoA and NgR at different stage of SCI using reverse transcription real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and Western blotting. Results The BBB score began to increase 14 days after modeling, and significantly increased until 28 days after model-ing (P<0.05), compared with one day, three days and seven days after modeling in group B. The BBB score in-creased in group C than in group B at all the time points (P<0.05), except 14 days after electroacupuncture one day after modeling. The BBB score was higher as electroacupuncture intervening seven days and 14 days after modeling than that at one day after modeling in group C, and no significant difference was found between seven days and 14 days of treatment at either electroacupuncture time point (P>0.05). The expression of gene and pro-tein of NogoA and NgR in group B was in the increasing tendency after SCI, and was at the peak until 21 days af-ter modeling, and was higher in group B than in group A at each time point (P<0.01). The expression of gene and protein of NogoA decreased at all the time points in group C than in group B (P<0.05), except seven days of elec-troacupuncture intervening one day after modeling in the expression of NogoA mRNA (P>0.05). The expression of gene and protein of NogoA and NgR was lower as electroacupuncture intervening 14 days after modeling than one day after modeling in group C (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the expression of gene and protein of NogoA and NgR between electroacupuncture intervening 14 days and seven days after modeling, and seven days and one day after modeling (P>0.05); as well as between seven days and 14 days of treatment at each time point (P>0.05). Conclusion Elerctroacupuncture could improve the hind limb motor function, which may associate with the inhibition of the expression of gene and protein of NogoA and NgR in injured spinal cord of rats after SCI. Elerctroacu-puncture is effective in the treatment of SCI at the early time, however, it is much better in the recovery stage.

Objective:To investigate the advantages and disadvantages and clinical effects of integrated acetabular quadrilateral surface buttress plate in the treatment of acetabular both column fractures. Methods:From September 2017 to March 2019, 14 patients with acetabular both column fractures were treated with integrated quadrilateral acetabular buttress plate and were followed up. The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. There were 10 males and 4 females with an average age of 53.2 years (range, 26-75 years). Fracture classification were both column fractures according to the Letournel-Judet classification system, including 11 cases of combined posterior wall without posterior dislocation. The time from injury to operation was 8-19 days, with an average of 10.3 days. All operations were performed with a supra-ilioinguinal approach. After satisfactory reduction, the integrated acetabular quadrilateral surface buttress plate was used to fix the anterior and posterior column and quadrilateral fractures at the same time. After operation, Matta criteria was used to evaluate the quality of fracture reduction on postoperative images, and modified Merle d'Aubigné-Postel score to evaluate hip joint function. Results:The average operation time was 180 min (range, 120-320 min), and the intraoperative average blood loss was 980 ml (range, 700-1 600 ml). Operations were performed successfully with none intraoperative reshaping conducted, and the plate could fit into the bone surface well. All 14 patients were followed up with an average of 15.6 months (range, 9-20 months). During the follow-up, all fractures healed with an average of 3 months (range, 2.5-5 months). The reduction quality evaluated by the Matta criteria were 7 anatomical, 5 satisfactory, and 2 unsatisfactory, with an excellent and good rate of 85.7% (12/14). The hip joint function at the last follow-up was in accordance with the modified Merle d'Aubigné-Postel score was 12-18 points, with an average of 16.9 points, of which 8 excellent, 4 good, and 2 fair. The excellent and good function rate was 85.7% (12/14). During the operation, 1 patient had a rupture of about 1 cm of the peritoneum during the separation of the spermatic cord, which was immediately sutured and repaired. One patient had obturator nerve paralysis after the operation, without special treatment, and the paralysis symptoms were relieved during the 6th-month follow-up. There were no other operation-related complications. Conclusion:For both-column fractures characterized by central dislocation of the femoral head, the integrated acetabular quadrilateral buttress plate can simultaneously fix the anterior and posterior columns and quadrilateral surface at the same time. Satisfactory reduction and functional outcomes could be achieved by the novel plates.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the indigenous lactobacilli from the vagina of pregnant women and to screen the isolates with antagonistic potential against pathogenic microorganisms.
METHODSThe strains were isolated from pregnant women's vagina and identified using the API50CH system. The ability of the isolates to produce hydrogen peroxide was analyzed semi-quantitatively using the TMB-HRP-MRS agar. The antagonistic effects of the isolates on pathogenic microorganisms were determined with a double layer agar plate.
RESULTSOne hundred and three lactobacilli strains were isolated from 60 samples of vaginal secretion from healthy pregnant women. Among them, 78 strains could produce hydrogen peroxide, in which 68%, 80%, 80%, and 88% had antagonistic effects against Candida albicans CMCC98001, Staphylococcus aureus CMCC26003, Escherichia coli CMCC44113, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa CMCC10110, respectively.
CONCLUSIONThe recovery of hydrogen peroxide-producing lactobacilli decreases with the increasing pregnant age and time. The most commonly isolated species from vagina of Chinese pregnant women are Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus crispatus. Most of L. acidophilus and L. crispatus produce a high H2O2 level.
