Practical Oncology Journal 2015;(1):53-56
The new costimulatory molecule B7-H4,also called V-set domain containing T cell activa-tion inhibitor 1(VTCN-1),is a member of the B7 family.B7-H4 can negatively regulate the immune response of T lymphocytes through inhibiting their proliferation and cytokine production .The expression of B7-H4 plays an important role in initiation ,progression and regression of malignant tumors ,including female malignant tumor , such as breast cancer ,ovarian cancer and uterine neoplasm .The association between the female tumors and B 7-H4 causes great concern in recent years .In this review, the function of B7-H4 in female tumor research and the potential target of B7-H4 in the diagnosis and treatment of female tumor are summarized .
2.Propofol can Protect Against the Impairment of Learning-memory Induced by Electroconvulsive Shock via Tau Protein Hyperphosphorylation in Depressed Rats.
Chinese Medical Sciences Journal 2015;30(2):100-107
OBJECTIVETo explore the possible neurophysiologic mechanisms of propofol and N-methyl-D- aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist against learning-memory impairment of depressed rats without olfactory bulbs.
METHODSModels of depressed rats without olfactory bulbs were established. For the factorial design in analysis of variance, two intervention factors were included: electroconvulsive shock groups (with and without a course of electroconvulsive shock) and drug intervention groups [intraperotoneal (ip) injection of saline, NMDA receptor antagonist MK-801 and propofol. A total of 60 adult depressed rats without olfactory bulbs were randomly divided into 6 experimental groups (n=10 per group): ip injection of 5 ml saline; ip injection of 5 ml of 10 mg/kg MK-801; ip injection of 5 ml of 10 mg/kg MK-801 and a course of electroconvulsive shock; ip injection of 5 ml of 200 mg/kg propofol; ip injection of 5 ml of 200 mg/kg propofol and a course of electroconvulsive shock; and ip injection of 5 ml saline and a course of electroconvulsive shock. The learning-memory abilities of the rats was evaluated by the Morris water maze test. The content of glutamic acid in the hippocampus was detected by high-performance liquid chromatography. The expressions of p-AT8Ser202 in the hippocampus were determined by Western blot analysis.
RESULTSPropofol, MK-801 or electroconvulsive shock alone induced learning-memory impairment in depressed rats, as proven by extended evasive latency time and shortened space probe time. Glutamic acid content in the hippocampus of depressed rats was significantly up-regulated by electroconvulsive shock and down-regulated by propofol, but MK-801 had no significant effect on glutamic acid content. Levels of phosphorylated Tau protein p-AT8Ser202 in the hippocampus was up-regulated by electroconvulsive shock but was reduced by propofol and MK-801 alone. Propofol prevented learning-memory impairment and reduced glutamic acid content and p-AT8Ser202 levels induced by electroconvulsive shock.
CONCLUSIONElectroconvulsive shock might reduce learning-memory impairment caused by protein Tau hyperphosphorylation in depressed rats by down-regulating glutamate content.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(4):305-309
ObjectiveBy observing and comparing the effect of wheat-sized moxibustion on the quality of life and interleukin (IL)-10 expression in stageⅢ~Ⅳtumor patients of two different traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) patterns by using QLQ-C30 questionnaire, to see whether wheat-sized moxibustion can improve the quality of life, regulate oncology-related immune system, and enhance the survival rate of the stageⅢ~Ⅳtumor patients.MethodForty-two tumor patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group and were differentiated into TCM patterns. The treatment group was intervened by conventional Chinese and Western medicine plus 2 weeks of wheat-sized moxibustion. QLQ-C30 questionnaire was adopted for evaluation before and after treatment, and peripheral blood was drawn to detect the expression of IL-10.ResultWheat-sized moxibustion improved the quality of life, especially fatigueand poor appetite; the expression of IL-10 dropped after wheat-sized moxibustion. Conclusion Wheat-sized moxibustion can improve the quality of life of the tumor patients and down-regulate the expression of IL-10.

Objective To evaluate circumferential mucosectomy for the treatment of prolapsed hemorrhoids. Methods Ten patients with Ⅲ or Ⅳ degree of circular prolapsed hemorrhoids were operated on with circumferential mucosectomy using circular stapler. The mean age was 65 years old with hemorrhoids history of 3~25 years. Results Hemorrhoids in 8 of the 10 patients disappeared immediately after operation and 2 disappeared on the second day postoperatively. 3 patients complained local pain and 6 patients suffered from temporary urine retention after operation. No significant edema or bleeding ensued. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 4 days. No recurrence developed at an averaged 2 months′ follow up. Conclusion The new technique provides a significantly less painful choice of treatment for severely prolapsed circular hemorrhoids. However, the long-term outcome remains to be identified.

The public hospital non-administration action is a strong power push to deepen the public hospital reform, also as an important goal of the institution reform, which has great significance. It introduces the goal of public hospital administrative, analyzes the key problems to be solved in the process of administration and puts forward the concrete path to the administration.

Using histochemical techniques for showing cholinesterase and catecholamines, weinvestigated the changes of these neurotransmitters in the parasympathetic nervouscenters(medial preoptic area and dorsal vagal nucleus)of acupunctured rats by com-parison with the corresponding nucleus and area of the normal rats.A total of 38animals were used,19 in each group were studied.Preliminary results obtained wereas follows:(1)It was shown that the number of cases with stronger and medium activityof cholinesterase in parasympathetic nervous centers of acupunctured group was lowerthan that of control group, and it was more obvious in dorsal vagal nucleus(P=0.05)(2)There was no significant change of the NA content within CA fiber's termi-nals of parasympathetic nervous centers in acupunctured group when compared withthose of controls.Based on these results, the relationship between the effects of parasympatheticnervous centers was discussed. Our data suggested that acupuncture might probablyinduce a relative excitation on the activity of parasympathetic nervous centers, but itseems not related with the change of the content of norepinephrine.

Using hitochemical techniques showing cholinesterase and catecholamines, weinvestigated the changes of these neurotransmitters in the sympathetic nervous centers(posterior nucleus and lateral area of hypothalamus,as well as intermediolateralnucleus of spinal cord)of acupunctured rats, and compared with those in the cor-responding nuclei and area in normal controls.A total of 109 cases were performed, among which 73 cases were of acupunctured and 36 cases were of controls.Theresults obtained were as follows:(1)It was shown that the number of cases withstronger activity of acetylcholinesterase in sympathetic nervous centers of acupunc-tured group was higher than that of controls. The more obviously elevated in painthreshold after acupuncture, the higher number of cases with stronger ACHE enzy-matic activity in the sympathetic nervous centers was evident.(2)The number ofcases with stronger intensity of NA fluorescences within the adrenergic fiber's terminalsof sympathetic nervous centers was found to be higher in acupunctured group thanthat of control group. On the basis of the results obtained, the possible relationship between the effectsof acupuncture and the changes of neurotransmitters in sympathetic nervous centerswas discussed. We considered that the sympathetic nervous centers might have beeninduced into a relative inhibition state following acupuncture, and this state is ingood coincidence with the increase of NA in adrenergic fiber's terminals.
