BACKGROUND: Dyslexia is the most common in the study of learning disabilities, it can affect various aspects of children, including behaviors,cognition, emotion, social adaptation, etc., and seriously block their obtaining of knowledge and improvement of ability in children.OBJECTIVE: To study the changing law of regional cerebral blood oxygenation in children with Chinese dyslexia in the process of recognizing Chinese characters, and investigate the neurophysiological basis of dyslexia in children.DESIGN: A case-control study.SETTING: Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Maternal Care, School of Public Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.PARTICIPANTS: The study was carried out in Huazhong University of Science and Technology from June to September in 2003. Forty-five primary students of 8 to 12 years old, who were grade 3 to 5 in Wuhan city,were enrolled in this study, including 26 dyslexic children (dyslexia group)and 19 normal readers (control group). All the enrolled children were righthanded. Informed consents were obtained from all the participants and their parents (guardians) after explanation of aims and steps of this study.METHODS: The functional near-infrared imager (fNIRI) was applied to detect the changes of cerebral blood oxygenation in left prefrontal lobe of dyslexic children and normal children in the primary processing (viewing passively, reading aloud, producing an action word) and secondary processing of Chinese characters (outputting task, action words association) of Chinese characters.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The changes of cerebral blood oxygenation in the primary processing and secondary processing of Chinese characters were observed in both groups.RESULTS: All the 26 children with Chinese dyslexia and 19 normal children were involved in the analysis of results. ① Changes of the contents of blood oxygenation in the primary processing of Chinese characters:When viewing the Chinese characters passively, the contents of blood oxygenation on channel A, B and C were all higher in the dyslexia group than in the control group (0.378 0, 0.134 6; 0.085 8, 0.051 9; 0.109 3, 0.069 2;P ＜ 0.05); there was no obvious difference on channel D between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05). When reading aloud, the contents of blood oxygenation on channel A, B, C and D were all unobviously higher in the dyslexia group than in the control group (P ＞ 0.05). In the process of generating action words, the contents of blood oxygenation on channels A and C were all higher in the dyslexia group than in the control group (0.411 2, 0.139 7;0.141 3, 0.078 4; P ＜ 0.05), and there were no obvious differences on channels B and D between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05). ② Changes of the contents of blood oxygenation in the secondary processing of Chinese characters: In the process of outputting task, the changes of blood oxygenation was lower in the dyslexia group than in the control group (-0.025 7, 0.089 0,F=16.25, P ＜ 0.01); In the process of action words association, the changes of blood oxygenation was obviously higher in the dyslexia group than in the control group (0.073 0, -0.072 1, F=15.59, P ＜ 0.01).CONCLUSION: The cortexes of left prefrontal lobe in dyslexic children are activated in the process of recognizing Chinese characters, but the degree and pattern of activation are different from those of normal children.The functional abnormalities of specific brain area may be the biological basis of Chinese dyslexia.Song RR, Wu HR.Changes of regional cerebral blood oxygenation in recognizing Chinese characters in children with Chinese dyslexia.

The paper analyzed the compensation mechanism applied in public hospitals in different localities in China,which are currently experimenting with the zero price margin for drugs.It also introduced the revenue variations resulting from this practice.It is discovered that public hospitals can hardly make their ends meet with merely governmental financial input,and that lowered income of doctors and price distortion arc evident in those experimental hospitals,with little progress in overcoming the subsidization of medical services with drug sales.The authors recommended a comprehensive reform,the mechanism of diversified health input,change of internal incentive mechanism within the hospital,improvement in the healthcare service pricing mechanism,and exploration of new operation mechanisms for public hospitals.

Objective To explore the clinical value of colposcopy directed biopsy in diagnosis of vaginal intraepitheal neoplasia (VaIN).Methods The clinical data of 106 VaIN patients diagnosed by colposcopy directed biopsy were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively.In the past medical history of 106 patients,46 patients had cervical cancer history,43 patients had cervical intraepithehal neoplasia history,13 patients had previous hysterectomy because of benign disease and 4 patients had uncertain past medical history.Results Among 106 patients,97 patients(91.51％,97/106) had abnormal pap smears of vagina,9 patients (8.49％,9/106) had abnormal pap smears of cervix.Histological analysis revealed that 69 patients were VaIN Ⅰ,24 patients were VaIN Ⅱ,13 patients were VaIN Ⅲ.The high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV) test at diagnosis were positive in 98 patients (92.45％,98/106),negative in 8 patients (7.55％,8/106).Eighty-seven patients VaIN were localized in the upper one third of the vagina,19 patients VaIN were localized in other parts of vaginal wall.Ninety-eight patients VaIN affected to the multifocal vaginal wall,8 patients VaIN affected to the focal vaginal wall.Conclusions It has highly therapeutic value of colposcopy directed biopsy in diagnosis of VaIN.But should closely correlated to past medical history,colposcopy should performed on the whole vagina wall and multiple punch biopsy to elevated positive rate.

Objective To compare biomechanical performances of parallel plate fixation and vertical plate fixation for better clinical treatment of humeral intercondylar comminuted fractures (HICF).Methods Models of T-shaped fracture were created using an osteotome at the distal end of humerus in 6 specimens of upper limb in 3 human adult cadavers.The 2 fracture models of left and right humeri in the same cadaver were respectively fixated with parallel plating and vertical plating.On a biomaterial-testing machine,a vertical load was applied onto the fixated distal humerus at a speed of 5 N/s till it reached 2000 N.The loading was repeated 3 times.Vertical compression displacement,intercondylar separating displacement,deformation of medial and lateral condyles and vertical compression stiffness were documented for statistic analyses. Results Under the same load,parallel plating led to significantly less compression displacement,separating displacement and deformation of condyles( P ＜ 0.05) but significantly greater axial compression stiffness( P ＜ 0.05) than vertical plating. Conclusion In biomechanics,parallel plate fixation has better performance than vertical plate fixation for HICF.

Objective To investigate the effect of ginsenoside-Rgl on paraurethral fascia fibroblastsmultiplication and the expression of proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) of stress urinary incontinence(SUI) women in vitro. Methods Specimens of human paraurethral fascia were obtained from 4 SUI womenduring tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) or tension-free vaginal tape-obturator (TVT-O) procedure.Fibroblasts were isolated and cultured by outgrowth technique. After reaching confluency fibroblasts weresubcultured every 5 days and cells after passage number 3 to 5 were used for assessment. The paraurethralfascia fibroblasts were treated with ginsenoside-Rgl at different concentrations (5, 10, 20 μmol/L) andfibroblnsts without Rgl were used as controL The multiplication conditions of paraurethral fascia fibroblastswere respectively detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTr) assay and the expression of PCNA byhistochemistry. Results ( 1 ) Compared with the control group, the growth rate of cells treated with differentconcentrations of Rgl after 72h [ (29±5 )%, (40±5 )%, (26±4)% respectively ] was significantly higher(P<0.01). (2)Compared with the control group, the stimulatory effect of Rgl on fibroblast growth wassignificant at 24 h (P<0.01), and peaked at 72 hi (29±5)% ,(40±5)%, (26±4)% respectively, P<0.01]. (3)Compared with the control group(28.77% ), there was a significant increase of PCNA-positivecells (P<0.01) after 48 h treatment with different concentrations of Rgl (49.24%, 83.48%, 54.50%respectively). Objective Find out the self-rated health of college students majoring in physical education and the influential factors, so as to offering some evidences which can help adopting adopt some measures to improve health condition. Methods Adopt method of random sampling to investigate the application ofamong 300 college students majoring physical education. Results The total condition of self-rated health of college students majoring physical education is good. The scores of self-rated physiology, psychology, social healthy sub-table are from 56. 6 to 95.00. While the lowest score is the self-rated of psychological health. Male students got higher scores than female in all aspects except the ability of daily life and social support and positive emotion. And the Differences in psychological health, physical symptom and function are significant (P＜0.05) .Comparison of college students self-rated health condition with other areas, it found that the students in Sichuan are in middle level of all healthy aspects. Conclusions The total condition of self-rated health about college students majoring physical education is good. More attention should put on to their psychology,besides regular diet, rest, and tired in physiology health.

Stasis is the critical causative factor and pathological production considered in clinic treatment. Promoting the circulation in blood vessel and removing stasis are equally important in treatment. Stasis is interactive with qi and blood. Removing stasis aims to regulating the circulation of qi and blood. Scraping therapy is one of the major approaches to stasis removal in TCM. In clinical practice, the stasis can be removed with scraping, bleeding and cupping, etc. Additionally, removing stasis with scraping should be combined with regulating qi and blood to enhance the therapeutic effect.
