Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2005;25(2):113-116
In the present study, we examined the regulation of the expression and function of AB CA1 by modified LDL (ox-LDL) in vitro. After incubation with apoA-Ⅰ for 24 h, RAW264.7 cells effluxed 37.65 % cholesterol loaded by acetyl LDL (ac-LDL), and 9.78 % cholesterol in ox-LDL group. The level of ABCA1 Mrna increased about three times either when cells were incubated with 100 μg/Ml ac-LDL or with 100μg/Ml ox-LDL. However, the level of ABCA1 protein rose by 1.57 times in ac-LDL group and 1.26 times in ox-LDL group. These results demonstrated that ox-LDL had different effect on the expression and function of ABCA1, ox-LDL might decrease the cholesterol efflux mediated by ABCA1 through other unknown mechanisms.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of Jiedu-Huaban Decoction combined with montelukast sodium chewable tablets in the treatment of children with henoch schonlein purpura (HSP). Methods:A total of 80 children with HSP and blood heat syndrome who met the inclusion criteria, from January 2017 to December 2019, were randomly divided into two groups by random number table method, 40 in each group. The control group took montelukast sodium chewable tablets at night, and the study group took Jiedu-Huaban Decoction on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The disappearance time of gastrointestinal disease, skin purpura, kidney disease, joint swelling and pain were observed. The improvement score of skin purpura was evaluated before and after treatment. The serum levels of IL-6, IL-4, interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and TNF-α were detected by ELISA, and the levels of IgG, IgA and IgM. The T lymphocyte subsets (CD4 + and CD8 +) were measured by nephelometry, and the CD4 +/CD8 +values were calculated. The clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results:The total effective rate was 87.5% (35/40) in the study group and 67.5% (27/40) in the control group, with significant difference between the two groups ( χ2 =4.588, P=0.032). The disappearance time of gastrointestinal disease, skin purpura, kidney disease and joint swelling and pain in the study group were significantly earlier than those in the control group ( t=7.802, 12.167, 7.309, 9.365, all Ps<0.001). 9.Ways to improve measurement accuracy of blood glucose sensing by mid-infrared spectroscopy.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2006;23(3):688-691
Mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy is applicable to blood glucose sensing without using any reagent, however, due to a result of inadequate accuracy, till now this method has not been used in clinical detection. The principle and key technologies of blood glucose sensing by MIR spectroscopy are presented in this paper. Along with our experimental results, the paper analyzes ways to enhance measurement accuracy and prediction accuracy by the following four methods: selection of optimized spectral region; application of spectra data processing method; elimination of the interference with other components in the blood, and promotion in system hardware. According to these four improving methods, we designed four experiments, i.e., strict determination of the region where glucose concentration changes most sensitively in MIR, application of genetic algorithm for wavelength selection, normalization of spectra for the purpose of enhancing measuring reproduction, and utilization of CO2 laser as light source. The results show that the measurement accuracy of blood glucose concentration is enhanced almost to a clinical detection level.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2008;28(3):328-332
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of ghrelin on small intestinal transit and intergigestive gastrointestinal migrating myoelectric complex (MMC) in rats.
METHODSAfter a 24-hour fasting, the rats with or without pretreatment with receptor antagonist (D-Lys3)GHRP-6 were given intravenous injections of ghrelin at different doses to observe the changes in small intestinal transit. The MMCs of the fasting rats were recorded using a multilead physiological recording system, and their changes observed in response to intravenous ghrelin injections, or to ghrelin injection following pretreatment with atropine, phentolamine, propranolol, L-arginine or (D-Lys3)GHRP-6, respectively.
RESULTSGhrelin enhanced the small intestinal transit dose-dependently, and this effect was inhibited by application of ghrelin receptor antagonist. Ghrelin also showed excitatory effect on the MMCs, which was inhibited by atropine, L-arginine or (D-Lys3)GHRP-6, but not by propranolol and phentolamine.
CONCLUSIONGhrelin can promote gastrointestinal motilities, and its excitatory effects rely on the cholinergic pathway in close relation to nitric oxide pathway. Ghrelin receptor is involved in its action in promoting the gastrointestinal motilities.
