Objective To investigate the relationship between morning blood pressure surge (MBPS) and urinary albumin/creatinine (UmAlb/Cr) ratio in elderly patients with dipper essential hypertension.Methods Totally 273 elderly patients with dipper essential hypertension were divided into MBPS group (observation group,n =106) and non MBPS group (control group,n=167)according to the presence or absence of MBPS.The urinary UmAlb/Cr ratio,blood urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine (Cr),blood glucose (Glu),high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol (TCH) were detected.The differences in UmAlb/Cr ratio between the two groups were analyzed.Results There were no statistical significances in sex ratio,age,course of hypertension,BUN,Cr,blood Glu,HDL-C,LDL-C,TG and TCH between the two groups (P＞0.05).The amplitude of variation in morning systolic pressure peak was higher in MBPS group than in non-MBPS group [(32.8±8.2) mmHg vs.(12.0±7.2) mm Hg,P＜0.001].UmAlb/Cr ratio was higher in MBPS group than in non-MBPS group [(4.93±2.17) vs.(4.23±2.42),P＜0.05].There were significant differences in UmAlb/Cr ratio between MBPS group and non-MBPS group in different genders [male:(4.95± 1.96) vs.(2.98 ±2.05),female:(5.89±2.24) vs.(5.03±2.37),both P＜0.05].Conclusions MBPS has a great influence on UmAlb/Cr ratio and tends to cause early impairment of renal function in elderly patients with dipper essential hypertension.

Objective： To investigate the mental health of freshmen in Xiamen Un iversity. Methods: A total of 2 226 freshmen of 1998 from Xiamen University comp leted the SCL-90. Results: There were 153 students who sco red above 3 on one or more sub-scales. The most common mental health problems were compulsion, interpe rsonal sensitivity, and paranoia. Students from the College of Foreign Language, Art Education, Medicine, and Humanities reported more mental problems than thos e from the College of Computer and Information Engineering, Physics and Electrom echanical Engineering. Girls were more likely to suffer from phobic anxiety, dep ression, somatization, anxiety, and interpersonal sensitivity than boys, and the y were less hostile than boys. Conclusion: The mental heal th conditions were fou nd to be different for students from different colleges and departments. There w as also significant gender difference in major mental health problems.

Objective To observe the effect of mivacurium,succinylcholine and atracurium in modified electric convulsive therapy (MECT).Methods Sixty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients with schizo-phrenia aged from 18 to 60 years old were randomly divided into 3 groups :mivacurium group (group A,n=20),succinylcholine group (group B,n=20),atracurium group (group C,n=20).The on-set time of muscle relaxation,the recovery time of spontaneous breathing after MECT,the awake time,as well as the changes of 5 min MAP,HR and SpO2 before and after MECT were observed re-spectively.Results The onset time of muscle relaxation and the recovery time of spontaneous breath-ing in group B were shorter than those in groups A and C (P <0.05).The onset time of muscle re-laxation and the recovery time of spontaneous breathing in group A were shorter than those in group C (P <0.05).Conclusion Mivacurium is a better alternative medicine in MECT in the situation of no succinylcholine or succnylcholine contraindication.

Objective To observe the diagnostic value of telomerase,VEGF,CD44_ V6 ,MMP_2,MMP_9and their combined examination in distinguishing malignant pleural effusion from benign one.Methods Sixty patients with pleural effusions were observed,thirty of them sufferring from malignant pleural effusion and thirty of them sufferring from benign one.The expression of telomerase,CD44_ V6 ,VEGF,MMP_2,MMP_9were tested in the pleural effusion by RT-PCR and ELISA technique.The sensitivity and the specificity of each examination method were calculated,in order to find out appropriate combination.Results As single-item detection,the diagnosetic value of VEGF was the best,the cutoff of VEGF was 181.1pg/ml,the sensitivity of VEGF examination was 90.0%,and the specificity was 86.7%.The sensitivity and the specificity of combined examination VEGF+CD44_ V6 and VEGF+MMP_2 were the best,the sensitivity of VEGF+CD44_ V6 was 83.3%,and the specificity was 90.0%.The sensitivity of VEGF+MMP_2 was 80.0% and the specificity was 93.3%.Conclusion The level of telomerase,VEGF,CD44_ V6 ,MMP_2,MMP_9in malignant pleural effusion is clearly higher than that in benign pleural one,the difference having significant statistic meaning.VEGF has higher sensitivity and specificity .Of combined examination,VEGF+CD44_ V6 and VEGF+MMP_2 have higher sensitivity and specificity.

To capture a state of the enzyme in complex with an intact substrate, we developed and adopted a novel freezing method in crystal preparation procedure. Neither the elimination of the catalytically indispensable ligands, nor mutation or modification of the active site is required. At -20 degrees C, we soaked the crystal of 6-phosphate-beta-glucosidase (Bg1A) in the liquor containing p-nitrophenyl-beta-D-glucopyranoside-6-phosphate (pNPbetaG6P). The diffraction data at 2 A resolution was collected and an intact and unambiguous electron density map of pNPbetaG6P was obtained. These results provide an effective method for the research of cryoenzymology and the intermediate state of enzyme-substrate complex in the future.

Objective:To study the application of herbs of National TCM Master Li Jiren on treating atrophy with deficiency syndrome. Methods:By collecting 195 cases of atrophy-disease treated by Professor Li in Out-patient Medical Record System dated from January 2013 to December 2018, and FP-Growth computing paradigm was used to analyze frequency, FP-Growth enhanced computing paradigm was used to analyze the frequencyand association of symptoms and herbal pairs. Professor Li’s experience was accordingly summurized with clinic situation and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Results:There are 121 main symptoms among 195 selected cases, and amyotrophy (79 times), decreased muscle strength (69 times), difficulty in walking (52 times), weakness of upper extremities (43 times) and poor sleeping quality (33 times) rank the top 5 symptom. In terms of tongue manifestations, the color pink, pale, red and purple are the most; while in terms of pulses, weak, thread, deep and stringy were frequent. A total of 159 sorts of herbs were collected and Astragali Radix (140 times), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (103 times), Cistanches Herba (93 times), Psoraleae Fructus (87 times), Morindae Officinalis Radix (81 times) were the top 5. The herbs used are mainly with the function of tonifying deficiency, dispelling wind and dampness promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasisand. most of the herbs belong to liver, kidney and spleen meridians with warm character, sweet and bitter in taste. Association analysis between high-frequency herbs indicated that Astragali Radix is the core of most formulas, which conformed to Li’ s clinical experience. Three prescriptions were also obtained through cluster analysis. Conclusion:Professor Li treated atrophy diseases with deficiency syndrome by the unique idea of strengthening primordial qi and consolidating body resistance of Xin’an Medicine school. On the ground of using herbs to tonify, synergy of herbs, which were able todispel pathogenic wind, dredge channels and promote blood circulation for removing blood stasis, was achieved based on differentiation.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the compatible stability of isosorbide mononitrate(ISO) and dopamine(DA) hydrochloride in glucose injection.METHODS:The contents of ISO and DA in the mixture of ISO and DA at 20 ℃ and 30 ℃ under natural illumination within 24 h,and the pH and appearance of the mixture were monitored.RESULTS:No significant change was noted in the concentrations of ISO and DA,the pH and the appearance of the mixture at 20 ℃ or 30 ℃.CONCLUSION:The mixture of ISO and DA in glucose injection was stable at 20 ℃ or 30 ℃,but which should be used up within 18 h after mixing.

Objective To evaluate the role of Lugol’s s taining in detecting early esophageal cancer.Methods 2% Lugol’s solution was adopted to stain esophageal m ucosa in 111 cases with esophageal superficial lesions. And multiple biopsies we re taken for pathological study.Results Among the 111 cases with Lugol’s staining, the results in normal, light, deep and non-stained were 4, 68,11 and 28 cases respectively . Pathology result: no cases of esophageal cancer or cell dysplasia in normal an d deep stained groups, 3 cases of severe dysplasia and 1 case of canceration in light stained group, 17 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and 5 cases of severe dysplasia in un-stained group.Conclusion The cancerous and precancerous lesions are liable to occur in cases with non- and light Lugol’s staining groups. The rate of detec ting early esophageal cancer increased when Lugol’s staining and biopsy are use d in combination.

Objective To evaluate the effects of epidural capsaicin on pain threshold and nerve tissue structure in adult rats. Methods Twenty-four adult male Wistar rats weighing 250-300 g were used in this study. A catheter was inserted into epidural space at L5,6 according to the method of Philippe. 0.4 ml of capsaicin 0.1% (group A), 0.25% (group B) or 0.5% (group C) or 10% Tween 80 (control group) was injected via the epidural catheter. Pain threshold was measured by thermal stimulation of the tail before (baseline) and on the 3rd, 7th and 14th day after epidural capsaicin. The animals were then killed. The lumbar segment (L4-6) of the spinal cord and spinal nerve roots were removed immediately for light and electron microscopic examination. Results Pain threshold was significantly higher in group A, B and C than in control group (P

OBJECTIVE:To study the compatible stability of gatifloxacin for injection with tinidazole injection.METHO_DS:Contents changes of gatifloxacin and tinidazole within 48h after mixing were determined by HPLC;and the appearance,pH value were observed and determined.RESULTS:The contents changes for both gatifloxacin and tinidazole were less than 5%. The mixed solution was clear in appearance yet without generation of gas and sediments.No significant changes were noted in pH value,color and smell.CONCLUSION:The mixed solution of gatifloxacin for injection with tinidazole injection is stable at room temperature within 48h and which can be applied in combination.
