International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2016;38(10):922-925
Objective This study aims to explore antihypertension and heart protective effect of acupuncture on SHR rats through the observation of blood pressure, cardiac ultrasound and pathology examination of SHR rats after needling the Zusanli (ST 36) and Taichong (LR 3). Methods A total of 14 SHR rats (10 weeks) were randomly divided into two groups:6 for model group and 8 for acupuncture group, another 6 SD rats (10 weeks) were used as the control group. SHR rats in the acupuncture group were fixed in the holder, and then they exposed both lower limbs for needling both sides Zusanli (ST 36) and Taichong (LR 3), and then they retained needles for 20 minutes per time with four weeks. The other two groups were fixed in the holder without needling. Blood pressure was examined each week. LVSs, LVDd, LVPWs, LVPWd were measured and recorded by cardiac ultrasound in the day after the whole course of acupuncture. LVM, LVMI, RWT were calculated. The hearts of rats were dissected and fixed in formalin for heart pathology detection after doing the cardiac ultrasound. Results After acupuncture treatment, compared with model group, the systolic blood pressure (SBP) of the third week (178.38 ± 9.47 mmHg vs. 190.00 ± 13.90 mmHg) and the fourth week (167.96 ± 23.47 mmHg vs. 195.47 ± 11.36 mmHg) of acupuncture group significantly decreased (P<0.01). The diastolic pressure (DBP) of the third week (139.33 ± 13.20 mmHg vs. 159.56 ± 12.89 mmHg) and the fourth week (132.92 ± 18.02 mmHg vs. 165.61 ± 13.36 mmHg) of acupuncture group significantly decreased (P<0.01). The LVSs (0.96 ± 0.07 vs. 1.28 ± 0.24), LVPWs (1.15 ± 0.08 vs. 1.68 ± 0.19) of the acupuncture group were significantly lower than those of the model group (P<0.01). The LVM (0.51 ± 0.12 vs. 0.84 ± 0.17) and LVMI (14.96 ± 1.53 vs. 23.65 ± 5.04) of acupuncture group were significantly lower than those of the model group (P<0.01). Histopathologic examination of the heart of the model group showed chronic inflammatory granulation tissue hyperplasia and fibrosis in myocardial outer membrane, but the acupuncture group showed no obvious changes in the heart tissue. Conclusions Acupuncture treatment on Zusanli (ST 36) and Taichong (LR 3) could effectively control the left ventricular hypertrophy by decreasing the SBP and DBP , prevent cardiac remodeling, and protect myocardial cells.
2.Practice in reorienting a second-tier hospital towards community health service
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(12):-
In light of the objective circumstances and its subjective conditions, our hospital, a grade A, second tier urban general hospital, made the right choice of reorienting itself towards community health service after making a careful assessment of the current situation. In the course of the reorientation, our hospital mainly focused on such tasks as change of concepts, readjustment of its structure and functions, establishment of the service mode of the family physician, delivery of the "six in one" service in the form of a team, and implementation of standard management. Such efforts proved to be fruitful and won the approval of the community. On the basis of this, our hospital tried hard to exploit to the full its favorable conditions as a second tier hospital in providing community health service and called for attention and solution to such issues as the pricing system, the fundraising and compensation mechanism, cost accounting, and reform of the personnel system in the delivery of community health service.

Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2016;36(6):194-196
Objective To establish an high performance liquid chromatography-evaporative light scattering detector (HPLC-ELSD) method for determination of glucosamine hydrochloride and its related substances in glucosamine and indometacin enteric-coated capsules. Methods Separation was carried out on a Inertsil C8 Column (250 mm ×4.6 mm,5μm) with a mobile phase composed of acetonitrile-water(70∶30) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and the column temperature was 25℃.Results The linear ranges of calibration curve was 25 -312.5 μg/mL(r=0.9991, n=6).The average recovery was 98.0%, and the relative standard deviation was 1.3%( n =5 ) .The glucosamine hydrochloride was stable with acid destruction, but unstable with alkali, heat and strong light destruction. Conclusion The method is simple, accurate and reproducible for determination of glucosamine hydrochloride and related substances.
5.Effect of Early Acupuncture at Huatuo Jiajipoints on Striatalβ-endorphin and Dynorphin Levels in MCAO Rats
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;35(5):579-582
Objective To investigate the effect of early acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points on striatalβ-endorphin and dynorphin levels in rats with post-stroke limb spasm. Methods Seventy SD rats were randomized into group A (normal) of 9 rats and group B (sham operation) of 10 rats. After a model of post-stroke limb spasm was made in the remaining rats, they were randomized into groups C (model), D (acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points) and E (baclofen). Group D received acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points and group E, an oral gavage of baclofen tablets. After seven days of treatment, striatalβ-endorphin and dynorphin levels were neasured by radioimmunoassay.Resultsβ-endorphin levels increased significantly in groups C, D and E compared with groups A and B (P<0.01) and also in groups D and E compared with group C (P<0.01,P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference inβ-endorphin levels between groups D AND E (P>0.05). Dynorphin levels increased significantly in groups C, D and E compared with groups A and B (P<0.05,P<0.01). There was no statistically significant difference in dynorphin levels between groups D and E (P>0.05).Conclusions Acupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points can increase striatalβ-endorphin levels but not change striatal dynorphin levels, which conforms to the relationship between enkephalin and spasm, and improve the animal’s spasticity.
